Lindsay Lohan in AA

I was curious about something slightly related on this topic.

Is it legal to provide alcohol to someone aged 18-20 provided its consumed on private property? what about underaged person’s home?
and if it is legal in some manner, what about a minor?

AFAIK, that’s a very local question, varying at least by state.

Well, AA (if she kept going [probably not]) didn’t do her any good.

Alcohol-related crash, cocaine found in the car. Jeez! If her prior accidents are alcohol-related, isn’t three accidents isn’t enough to get her some jail time? I know a friend of mine got a month lock-up for his 2[sup]nd[/sup] or 3[sup]rd[/sup] offense, and he didn’t even crash.

Of course, separate cells (if not jails) for her and Paris.

You don’t say.

Not all of the accidents were her fault, and this is the first one to involve alcohol that she’s been in.

Lol!!!

Good for her! Stupid B***h. All she does is deviate attention from much more relevant issues, say Darfur or 08 elections…

I find it quite pathetic that so many news outlets are focusing so much on celebrities like Lohan, or Spear or Ana Nicole Smith, they are all horrible role models anyway…

Yes, we certainly need more news about the election or Darfur.

If only there was some press covereage of these things, they would be made all better.

Why don’t people like Lindsay and Paris get a Driver?! They can certainly afford one. The savings in legal fees alone would pay for several. That way they can continue to party without the imminent risk of being thrown in jail.

Please, when Anna Nicole died, she was at least 100x more important than the elections and 300x more important than Darfur.

Hey, but if you CARE about Lindsay Lohan then, good for you!

It escapes my mind as to someone could care about such people.

Lohan, for all her many flaws, is not to blame for keeping Darfur out of the news. *Maybe * for knocking Britney Spears out of the news, but certainly not Darfur.

Someday this is going to make a great “women in prison” film - Martha Stewart, Winona Ryder, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Halle Berry, Zsa Zsa Gabor . . . Yeah, I know that not all of them were actually in jail. Are there any female celebrities I missed that have been in jail?

Surely Courtney Love has been in the pokey.

Every state (& DC, the territories, etc) has it’s own rules on this. Some ban any consumption of alcohol (except for medical & religious reasons) by anyone under 21 (I think PA is like this), some allow under-21s to drink alcohol given to them by partents/guardians/spouses in private, a few states even allow the underage to drink on licensed premises if their parent/guardian/spouse is with them. And AFAIK most state’s use the term “minor” to mean anyone under 21 as far as alcohol is concerned even when someone may an adult for every other purpose at 18.

Jesus. Fucking. Christ.

I weep for humanity.

Sophia Loren did 18 days in an Italian jail in 1982 for tax evasion. Cite, about a third of the way down the page.

No kidding, eh? Save the driving yourself around for your ancient thirties when you’ve been recovered for a couple years.

I, too, wish Lindsay nothing but success in fighting her demons. I’m not willing to blame anyone but her for her problems, though.

Well you have to admit, it must be tough for these folks, Lindsay, Paris, etc…

No really! They were spoiled rotten by all the attention they have had since they were wee children and now they are finally bumping up against something that is less willing to bow to their desires. The Law. And the really sad thing is that Lindsay could have avoided it by having a driver. Not very difficult. But from some reason this completely fucked up culture of which they are a part, includes driving home drunk from the bar! Color me confused.

But you want to know some really scary shit? Old Blohan is a huge role model for the tweens. The little girls love her and think she’s got talent. Now this might not be much different from when I was a young boy and I had some…well…less than mature taste in music. They never displayed such an unbridled sense of entitlement.

As far as lindsay cleaning up? It’s not about that really. I hope she does, but she needs to change her view on the world first. I actually suspect that she’ll be better off at 25 than Paris, because Paris is stupid. I don’t think LL is stupid. She can’t spell adequate and the phrase “be adequite” doesn’t make a whole lot of sense either, but I think if she realized that her lifestyle isn’t going to make her happy then she’ll be a whole lot better. I imagine that she’ll go the way of Drew Barrymore and transform herself into a functioning adult.

As for hoping that she’ll stay on the wagon? I think it’s pretty much a part of a bigger problem that she thinks her actions have no consequence. Karma’s a bitch, and no matter how untouchable you are at a certain point in your career, one day you’ll eventually get yours.

Seems she decided to celebrate the 48-hour anniversary of her DUI crash by getting falling down drunk outside a nightclub yesterday.

Oh, and Svedka vodka has pulled its sponsorship of her upcoming 21st birthday party. Probably a good idea.
