Just went to the Mare Stare board, found this message:
It’s in a thread about the Little Guy/LG and it’s such sad reading; so hopeful at first and then you can see it all going downhill.

PapSett - I’m so happy to hear that you actually went out to the barn! I know how hard it can be to take the first step. especially with depression. Mo offer to pay for your first lesson holds. If $275 for stall board is expensive, you might ask if they do pasture board. Honestly, I think horses are healthier outdoors - the need to be able to move and to have fresh air.
I’m very sorry about the premie. I can’t think that it’s going to have a good outcome.
ETA: Those animated smilies on the MareStare site are terribly annoying!
StG
No kidding! They’re especially obnoxious in a sad topic, aren’t they?

Sniff. Something seems to be in my eye.
I can’t believe how much I’ve cried over that foal I never touched, for people I’ll never know.
The cam is back up, new stall, new mare named Timber Ridges Sioux B “Sobe”.
ETA: In emailing with Joanne of Pacific Pintos, I called her mares “beach balls on legs” and she replied: “Beach balls on legs is an excellent description for them. I think even they would agree right now.”
Damn! Glenhill cam 1, Diva, was looking like soon; the tweet talked about her milk dripping; she was pacing about her stall and

pacing and looking uncomfortable and

Hit Refresh
Page load stops at front page of Glenhill link, arrow circles and circles and circles and…
Cam 3 is frozen too, so it’s on their end.
No doubt when I check tomorrow there will be a foal in with Diva.
And so to bed, sigh.
ETA: And now it’s back, complete with sound. Should I stay up just a bit more?
Woman just came into stall to check on Diva, on phone, looked at udders, commented her hind legs are covered with milk, then left. Mare’s still looking fairly calm, though.
So, do I stay up a bit longer, hoping? Or be sensible and go to bed?
Diva is giving birth right now - with sound!
FYI: Glenhill Cam 1
The foal is now out, mother and child are both still lying down. Mother is looking back at baby, nickering softly. The attendant calls out, “It’s a boy!”
Of course it is. I missed another one.
StG
Damn! Missed it by an hour plus.
Good thing I didn’t try to stay up to see it, eh?
What a gorgeous colt. Clearly takes after his mom.
ETA: Aw, they’be both lying down and mom is reachng over to lick and nuzzle baby
Meanwhile, the roundup on the others:
Nothing happening at Pacific Pintos, Centaur, Elements, Silver Creek.
At Sunny Pines there’s a new colt in the lower left cam, and it’s wild-colored – mostly white with scattered dark patches, and what looks like a two-tone tail – white top, dark bottom. There’s another mare still to foal in the upper right cam.
Nothing happening at Stony Ford, McGuire, Belladonna, or Witt’s.
Hahahaha! At Big Sky, the colt is running circles around his patient mom. With bucks!
Sugar’s outside at Happy Acres, no foal. Nothing doing at Hill Haven or Iris.
Mulligan’s Run says that Sobe is close to foaling but that’s not her currently in the stall on cam 1. On cam 2 there are four currently empty stalls. Oh, squeeee! Cam 3 has puppies! Tiny black squirmy puppies! Little tiny feet twitching in sleep!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm… Woman came into Diva’s stall, told the colt it was time he stood up and with some gentle nudges got him there. Then turned to the mare and said “Your turn, momma… Aw, you’re not feeling good, are you?” and scratched Diva’s butt to encourage her. Now the feed’s frozen so I can’t see if Diva did get up. She’s been lying in the same position since I clicked in half an hour ago. This is what, almost two hours since the birth?
Damn. cam’s still frozen! I want to know what’s happening! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I’m still watching it. Yes, they were both down pretty much the whole time since birth. I guess Diva was cramping and not feeling well, and the colt just couldn’t get up. He got up with the woman’s help and Diva got up shortly after. After a spectacular fall or two and more assistance, he’s finally eating. These people are very hands off.
Hurrah! Reloaded and all appears well. Diva’s up and the colt is nursing.
What a good mom she is.
I just went to the message board and read that Diva was apparently crampy afterwards and given Banamine. I’d rather see this kind of human interaction than the Witt’s swarm, for sure!
Oh, look – Diva just gave the colt a neck hug.
What say we call him Rooster? For the cock who walks with his hens in the stall whenever he can get away with it.
We needed this after Chantilly’s poor baby. I’m glad FloatyGimpy wasn’t watching.
StG
Here’s an interesting fact: little Rooster was purchased inutero, probably for around $8000 or more. His dam and sire are from Gray Fox Farms.
