flytrap, since my spousal unit would prefer that I don’t date, I don’t need to concentrate on anything, other than trying to remember where we put the foot bath - I think it’s in the blue guest room closet.
**FCD **just called - they’re back in Ocala, and his dad is really hurting. It seems that the older you get, the harder and longer it is to recover from surgery. Poor guy… His mom’s heart cath is Tues, and assuming there are not problems, he’ll come home on Weds. I can’t wait.
my friend M (whom I’ve mentioned before - always so helpful) was again extremely helpful. Reduced my kitchen stuff by half and got rid of lots and lots of junky stuff.
It’s very cathartic.
I know I’ll be purging more once I’m in the new place because there are boxes from the last move I haven’t sorted.
Dindin has been ingested. Bacon cheeseburgers, fries and a cold beerverage. Dindin of Champions!
MOOOOOOM I have a question. Ok, really more of a staement, Ok, it’s a question. Y’all lived in Orange Park, Flarduh, right? I ask because I have learned our Priest Associate has accepted the call to become Rector (Whiskypalian for Preacher) at Grace Episcopal Church in Orange Park. Looks like quite the happenin’ place what with the school and all. Anywho, I’m happy for her and her family but sad she’s leavin’. Her twin sons will be Baptized tomorrow mornin’ over to the church house as she and her husband want them to be Baptized down to good ol’ St. Pat’s. I expect quite the large crowd tomorrow. Glad I ain’t on duty for that tomorrow. I can be one of the pew slackards.
**swampy **- I know Grace Episcopal - my daughter attended preschool there for 2 years. She didn’t attend the grade school because as it was being phased in, she’d already started at a neighborhood school. But if the preschool was any indication, it would have been quite an outstanding school.
And the church property abuts a Dunkin’ Donuts - or at least it did when we lived there last.
As for Orange Park itself, it used to be pretty nice, but the last time I was there, the main drag, Blanding Boulevard, was kinda trashy. Because of the economy, lots of businesses that I’d known had closed down, and some really crappy ones with really crappy exterior decor were taking over. However, Grace is between US17 and the St. Johns River in a less commercial area. Just to the north is Moosehaven - a retirement community for members of the Loyal Order of Moose (or whatever they’re called) and to the south is Club Continental, an old, high-end community.
But best of all, Whitey’s! Plus they’ve got both Sonny’s and Woody’s! Those are the only things about OP that I miss.
I don’t know why Higgs thinks 4AM is wakey-up time, but I am not amused in the least! I did doze off again for a little bit, but I still ended up getting up before 6. Critters have been breakfasted, and I’m having an egg-n-cheese sammich right now.
I’ve got to mow either today or early tomorrow, since we’re promised much wetness from tomorrow evening thru Thurs and the grass out front is stupid tall. I should also make a run to the convenience center today, because I have to do laundry tomorrow.
Other than that, I’m going to chill today. Maybe play in my studio, maybe just watch Netflix and work on my latest afghan. We’ll see how it plays out.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 61 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 85 for the day.
Today is twin Baptism day over to the church house. Since everybody wants to see that, we are havin’ one combined service this mornin’. It’ll be Lutherans and Episcopalians fightin’ over the pews that have the better view! Ok not really but there should be a crowd. Well, for us a crowd.
I should begin purtification for deheathenization. OYKW wants to go get a bizkit this mornin’. Hey, he’s buyin’, so no objections here. I put a hunk o’ roast beast in the slow cooker yestiddy and added carrots and N.O.T. So, there’s a pot roast already done for N.O.L. Plus also, I cooked some peas ‘n butterbeans already this mornin’. After deheathenization I shall cook up some rice, bake some rolls, and warm up the beast, carrots, and N.O.T. A nice Sunday N.O.L.
The front lawn is mowed, as well as the side hill and what little bit of the back yard had tall grass. Tomorrow, I’ll spread lime on the front lawn before the rain comes.
The convenience center doesn’t open for another 45 minutes, so I have some sloth time. Yay!
