Actually you’re a little “off” no matter what the hour — but that’s beside the point.
Went down to Consol and watched the last game outside. It was interesting. Not enough so to make me a fan on your level but it was a fun collection of humanity.
I’m actually not allowed on FB by terms of my contract at work. My boss is convinced that any involvement with “social media” leads to much bad things and tears in the space/time envelope. But ----------- the one Protestant football pool I belong to moved there when Ecunet folded. So I found a cousin who had started a FB account and abandoned it and just got his passwords from him. Not sure if it would get me fired or not so I collect very few friends (under 20) and generally keep almost lurking.
DAMN! I gotta go to the loo, but the finish line clock @ Bahstan is @ 2:14 & I haven’t seen anyone come across yet; don’t want to miss watching the winner.
Mooommm, heard of a recipe you should try in your unsupervised time. Make cookie dough batter; make pretzel batter; roll out cookie dough batter into strips, roll p-zel batter around cookie dough batter; bake. Cookie in a p-zel. Sounds yummerific! (If you make these, I think you should send me some as your inspiration. ;))
ETA: they just reset the clock from the wheelchair guys to the runners; times aren’t so slow all of a sudden.
The second coat of the light green paint is done. There’s a chance of rain tomorrow, so I’ll plan to paint the trim on Weds - that’ll give the other coat plenty of time to dry.
**FCD **is really close to the GA state line. His mom rescheduled her heart catheterization for next week, so he’ll be gone that much longer. I’m glad she put it off - taking a 10 hour drive the day after having it done would be stoopit to the max. But I’ll be that much longer without adult supervision. Oh well…
I think I should get some lunch but I don’t know what I want. I’m hungry but nothing sounds good.
I’ve done a little window shopping online but I don’t see anything I like. I should just wait anyway. Mom says she is putting her house up for sale after I leave and I know she wants me to take a bunch of stuff so she doesn’t have to get rid of it. Although sometimes she says she is selling her house as is, furniture included.
Hi all, and happy Monday. I know I’ve been quiet again, but I have been getting out and about more and also trying to cut down on the time I spend online (hah!). Today, though, I’d like to ask for prayers for my cousin, who is in the hospital again.
She went in back in February and was in hospital for just about a week - she had edema and congestive heart failure. There was blockage in her heart that they were trying to fix via meds rather than surgery. She was put on diaretics (the strong ones?) and also came home on oxygen, but after a week or so, her oxygen levels were up high enough that she didn’t need the supplemental. She continued to have problems w/edema, though, and as she was on a blood thinner (coumadin) nosebleeds as well. Her blood levels were okay a week and a half ago, but Thursday she went to a routine dr. appt. and her pulse was elevated enough that the dr. sent her to the ER. There, the blood work read as being way too thinned out. I talked to her on Saturday and she sounded good; she was hoping to get out yesterday. This morning, I tried to call her and there was no answer at the hospital, so I called her home, hoping that she was home already. Unfortunately, her husband answered; he had been about to call me. She had problems breathing last night and is now in the ICU and on a ventilator. I am so worried for her!! This is the cousin that I’ve always been the closest to, we are, in fact, only 1 1/2 years apart (I’m older). So please keep my dear cousin Donna in your thoughts and prayers.
Howdy from da cave! Finishin’ up some electronic files stuff for irk. Teh intartoobz connection at the orifice was actin’ a little wonky so I thought it best to use da cave’s non-wonky intartoobz connection. However, ‘tis a glorious, sunny 75 Amurrkin out so it’s hard to be irkin’ when it’s so purty. Then again, I go out and get all sneezey.
Herbs prayers and good thoughts headed out for cousin Donna. Hope everything is ok soonest.
Back from the trip to the cabin, well worth it. We all learned what we need to do to make the next time more fun.
Did some hiking, found I was spectacularly out of shape. But I did it, and I’ll do some more, and I’ll get back in shape… eventually. Heard Great Horned Owls and Red Tailed Hawks in the night, saw numerous turkeys, found newts and crayfish in the stream in front of the cabin, cooked on a wood stove and explored the area.
No cell service for 3 days. Discovered work tried to call me in yesterday…
Supper was the last of the pot roast and veggies, with strawberries for dessert. **FCD **is in FL - I expect to hear from him within the hour letting me know he got there safely. And on that note, I’m going to assume the knit position and finish my afghan.
Apparently sleep deprivation is remarkably beneficial to juggling skill- I was totally getting the pass pattern I’ve been working on for ages today, and pretty damn close to getting another harder one too
Also, I just found £30 down the back of the cupboard in my room while looking for a box of tablets. It couldn’t be better timing to find forgotten money; I have car insurance, car tax and rent all due next week, and I’m going to be pretty much emptying the coin jar to pay it all.
Howdy Y’all ! Home from men’s night over to the church house. Also, ogbligatroy durkne psot. Yep, da bear had a btit too much tonight and fortunately had a designated driver. I shall pay for this tomorrow, but, heck, it’s worth it.
I went to work and wasn’t as productive as I would like due to a very long VTC this morning and then a very long meeting this afternoon. The VTC did not go well for some of our regional commands, but our portion went so well they skipped our command. Thank God, because the General running it was rather wound up over some of the stats and numbers. There was a lot of “I’ll have to get back to you, sir.” When it was all said and done, I had about three actual work hours where I could get something done, and two of them were spent preparing for the afternoon meeting.
My husband is making dinner. That works for me, because my energy levels are rather low at the moment.
Good thought are being sent to your cousin, Herbs.
