Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off today. I see a day of sports, with light to moderate cleaing. It’s 54 and partly cloudy. I get rain today, and a Polar Vortex tomorrow(low of 18 degrees Amurikin)
Regular
I need to get one for Pub Crawl(I still got the “Fall Risk” bracelet FCM’s sister sent me.:D)
**Red **- according to our 10-day forecast, there’s no snow, and temps rise a bit after Moanday. More rain is promised, tho. Dammit.
I finally cleaned the critter fountain. Plus, thanks to the relative mild, I shut off the pellet stove long enough for it to cool and I was able to empty the ash and clean it. I also ran the vacuum, then took the removable parts out to be blown clean - lots of ash in the filters. I love having an air compressor available!
Time to retrieve my old computer and (with luck) find my passwords.
Nah; Saranac Lake NYs WinterFest has been cancelled a few times for snow and look at the winter Olympic events events that got delayed for snow.
Speaking of which we finally got some. Nothing bad but we had a flash-freeze over night so that complicates the inch or so of the fluffy stuff on top of it. Single digit temps the next few nights.
Since the commercial traffic ban was lifted Da Jungle decided “You know how we said we’re closed Sunday? Well, 6pm we reopen so please show up after all. And for all you folks not scheduled please consider voluntary time.” Yeah ---- right. Ice, refreeze tonight, playoff football, holiday for civilized people tomorrow ------------ I’m almost tempted just to see who else shows and what happens. If I’m posting around 6-10pm I decided not to bother just to see the shits and giggles.
And second because you just realized you were first; I am so proud of you! You have done well, Grasshopper; it will soon be time for you to leave our temple.
I don’t know there Sparky -------- it some cultures that would make you and FCM in-laws already!
Tried to stay up to watch the ‘news’ (Weekend Update) last night, made it about 3/4 of the way thru when it hit me; I laid down to watch the rest, figgering it would only be a couple of mins more. I didn’t make it; woke up around 3:30 & crawled my way up to bed.
Went to run club this moaning; the rain started about ½ mile into it & stopped shortly after I finished; yup, perfect timing. We ran on an old (paved) rail trail; it was cool, because of the rain, the surface looked like a mirror. Because the reflection angle would change, the crossbeams from the catenary seemed like a moving finish line that you couldn’t quite get to for a number of steps.
Actually, I went back to the car, drove a couple hundred feet to the poking garage, changed out of the wet tops & did some more in there. The bottom of the tops ended up rather wet just from contacting my pants. Since everything was so wet anyway, it’s already been washed.
Got moolah, a full tank, & ground beast on the way home so lasag knee shall be later.
Pouring for a little while longer, then the temp will fall off the cliff. Couple inches of slush, and the rainfall is over a half inch above the normal for the whole month. Thunder storm boomed overhead this morning too. Front and back yard are in cubit mode.
Baby, it’s cold outside. 9 whole degrees. Went to the barn wearing long underwear, sweat pants, flannel-lined wind pants. Wool blend socks and insulated riding boots. Top layer is CuddleDuds turtleneck and a fleece vest. Topped off with a full length down coat, muffler, hat,a nd gloves. I was a bit warm. I hand walked Miss A since the horses are in. Ironically, I was out of ice at home so stopped for a bag on the way home.
its 53 might get up to 65 but its not feeling warm yesterday ranged from bleh to meh I think todays just gonna be meh
and I have no real ambition for anything today……. well except here and the board
That’s me pretty much all the time, so he’s prolly gonna be fine.
I would go for regular, but pumpkin sounds…interesting.
Wifey put salt on our driveway one winter. It ate holes in the concrete.
Be careful with that stuff.
Couldn’t find chorizo for our soup yesterday, so ended up using Portuguese linguica. It was a great success. :D, but then we found the menu for the dinner and it said what they had served us was ‘Caldo Verde’. Looked up the recipe for same. It’s not at all what we ad-libbed. We’re keeping our recipe though.
