Longmire Season 2 (spoilers for screened episodes inevitable)

Any **Longmire **fans on the board? I think the show could just show those gorgeous vistas for 29 minutes and one minute of Longmire being a MANLY MAN and I would be happy. OK, maybe two minutes of that. Or three, or four…

The first episode was fairly cheesy but I enjoyed it. Looks like the season arc is going to be his missing daughter (Cady) - at the end of season one, she learned that her mother was murdered.

I read the book that the episode was sort of based on. I enjoyed it…yummy Branch on a horse with a Stetson

I’m enjoying it, but with some reservations. The books are just so much better. More humor, for one thing.

The casting of Robert Taylor and Katee Sackhoff are pretty true to the character descriptions in the books, but as much as I love Lou Diamond Phillips, he’s just physically not Henry Standing Bear. “The Cheyenne Nation” is described as a tall, lanky guy with long hair. Ruby, The Ferg and Cady are very similar to the books’ descriptions.

The episode plots and other characters are very loosely connected to those of the books, with massive changes to story lines and who-dunnit. Much is added, much is left out.

Still good, though, if just for the scenery and Robert Taylor.
