Looking towards spring in the MMP

So they are switching address editing programs. I know this because the senior clerk told me. She only knows because an IT guy told her. The training manager(currently Screaming O) got upset when senior clerk told one of the other clerks. So:

  1. Nobody knows about the new program.
  2. The old program goes away Sunday.
  3. Nobody else knows where to find the new program, or how to log in.
The CIA level Opsec is gonna make Monday fun.

Also, somebody hornked in the apartment parking lot this morning.

{{{{wordy and wordmom}}}}

I made the lentil soup last night because I’ll be gone all day and evening today (mostly waiting, thanks to the train schedule), and I have plenty to do tomorrow. The soup turned out so yum, I decided lentils are pretty good and will make this recipe for myself in the future.

{{{{{wordy}}}}} I’m praying there’s some way to treat this latest recurrence.

Praying for you mom, overly. And for roxy and ripple. Speaking of prayers. Say a few for my family. It’s been a crazy morning. They rushed my nephew to the hospital. He can’t breathe. He’s 21 but severely autistic and handicapped. So he doesn’t understand what’s going on. I took the day too. I just can’t today. Love all y’all

Are you in the MSP area? Seems like your weather is a lot like mine. -7F right now, but we’re due for a warming trend into the 30s over the next couple of days.

So sorry, Wordy. I hope there’s a possible option.

Speaking of {{{{ }}}}, for you {{{{{{ Pearl }}}}}}.

Thank you. Just got an update from my sister. There’s a mass in his brain. They’re flying him to Lexington for emergency surgery.

Prayers up  for your nephew and all the medical personnel involved.
? for you: why is your nickname Pearl? I was thinking it might have been Muppet

About 40 miles of Chicago.

I appreciate it very much. Pearl was a Janis Joplin album. Which is where my user name came from. Swampy nicknamed me.

True.

Sorry about your Mom, Wordy. Hope there’s something the docs can do.

Also for your nephew, Pearl.

We’re both sickos. We got sick at about the same time Toosday night. Sinuses, headaches, diarrhea and other bad stuffs. I also am sneezing like an anti-aircraft gun. I’ve always sneezed like this but it scares the hell out of some people. Wifey thinks it may have something to do with the innoculations last week. I just wish it’d be over. When we got shot they gave us some free covid test kits and I tried one. It said I don’t have the plague. Which I kinda believe. I really want to go to the post office and the little grocery today. I haven’t collected the mail since Moonday and I want to get some dental floss and cough drops and other stuff. It’s only a couple of football fields away. I think I can make it. I’ll take a mask.

That’s all the news from here.

Howdy Y’all! I did the candle thang and then we went to Newk’s for N.O.L. So I was productive and we had an outin’. The rain left and now 'tis N.O.S. and cool(ish) out. We are in da cave where we continue to work on our sloth skills.

{{{Wordy}}} here’s hopin’ for the best for your mom.

{{{Pearl}}} also hopin’ for the best for your nephew.

Bumba hope y’all are feelin’ better soonest.

{{{Hugs to all in distress}}} So much suffering in our little community. :frowning:

We’re in our room on the 7th floor! We can see the ocean but it’s low 30s so we won’t be taking a beach stroll tonight. The room is nice - with a kitchenette and a “fireplace.” And luckily there are 2 ice trays in the freezer because one ice machine is missing and the other wasn’t working.

We brought sodas with us for morning caffeination. And peanuts and trail mix for noshing. Let the chillage begin!

Thank you all for all your kindness and prayers. It was decided this afternoon that the damage is too extensive to do surgery. There’s not much they can do at this point except make him comfortable. He’s only 21 years old. I’m so heartbroken

pearl I will lift your nephew and family in my prayers

I nested on my couch and as predicted, Ursala Kitteh huffed around the house.

Pearl, my heart goes out to your nephew, you, and your family.

{{{ }}} to all of you who are going through bad stuff. I hope things get better soon. I know some of these won’t get better, but I wish you all good.

I’ve got little going on, except it’s 4 ferret height outside, heading for -5 tonight, and my furnace is being grumpy. It only “crosses over” about 1 in 4 times. Crossing over means that the flame from the nozzle in front of the igniter gets to the other nozzles. If it fails 4 times it goes into a shut down for 3 hours.

{{{{{Pearl}}}}}, ain’t enough hugs for news like that. Wishing your Sister and her husband all the best in the worst times for them.

FCM, enjoy the view and the time off. Be sure to take the phone (all the phones) off the line.

Bumba, feel better soon.

rocker, best wishes to lager and hopefully the litter room won’t become a den of horrors…

{{talkie}}, had to use most of my hugs for pearl, but you could use some too. Not a good week, as some others have said.

yanker, glad you’re feeling better and hope the weather improves enough for the work to get done soon.

Well, I’m in the Southern-most city in the World (there’s a town in Chile that disputes it, but they only have 2,000 people and Ushuaia is a full-fleged city with 45,000 folks and an airport. Flying here took 3.5 hours and the last 20 minutes were frankly terrifying, flying through thick clouds and wind gusts with high hills (semi-mountains) all around us. When we came out of the clouds, we could see tall hills higher than the plane was flying less than a mile away. Never so happy to land safely.

Ushuaia reminds of a smaller Seattle, one street at sea level and then you climb and climb and climb some more. Add that the sidewalks are not in great condition, and I’m doing bonus time to make sure I don’t trip and break something (camera, phone, arm, neck…). However, everything seems to be going to plan and all the flights have been on-time.

Up early tomorrow for my (hopeful) tour, so probably won’t write again until tomorrow evening my time (it’s going on 8pm here, I’m +2 hours from EST). And you’re right catglove, eating late is the thing here, the restaurant at the hotel is only open 8-10pm–heading up there in a few minutes.

Take care all and a few more {{{{{hugs}}}}} for those that need them.

Hooray!! Enjoy the bottom of the world! It’s windy! I liked it a lot, though, and next time I’m there I want to spend a few days because it’s an interesting town.

Enjoy the Drake Passage! May you have smooth sailing.

I am so very sorry to read this. sending y’all prayers for peace and strength.
