I’m a little late but just had to say…

Of course Ghostbusters is great literature.

It just occurred to me to wonder how that wound on Jack’s back is healing. It should be time to take out the stitches soon, shouldn’t it?
I get your point, but bad example: he’s Ian Somerholder, who had a recurring guest spot last season on Smallville. Why is it a bad example? Because Smallville is at the 8pm Wednesday time-slot (when Lost viewers were presumably free last season), and is also aimed at the sci-fi/fantasy drama crowd. Of all of the castaways, he and Dominick are the only two whose real names I know. Oh, and I’ve now committed the delectable Emilie de Ravin to memory as well.
Quick–name the actor who plays Hurley. Hah! Knew you couldn’t…
He was ‘buried’ in the cave and ‘rose from the dead’…
You’re totally kidding about that, right?
'Cuz when a dude like that has a name that’s so close to “Jerry Garcia,” nobody forgets it.
Easy! He’s Jorge…uh.
That is, Luis…
Well, something Spanish-sounding, anyway.
D’oh.
Just a thought: Since this show is almost completely populated by gorgeous people, why do they bother with the plot? And when do we get more of Shannon’s butt?
Then you should check out Roswell, which is available on DVD and possibly still running in syndication on Sci-Fi. She comes in towards the end of season 1 and is a regular in season 2. Of course, true fans hate her, but that’s okay, she’s still cute.
She appears to be a horrible actress on the show, which I attribute to her concentrating on covering her accent.
He also was “the gay guy” in Rules of Attraction. It was a pretty big part in that movie.
I was just recertified in CPR and, trust me, no one recommended thumping on anyone’s chest, not even the dummy’s. Of course, CPR is a means of keeping someone alive until the professionals arrive with their life saving AED (automatic defibrillating device). CPR keeps the blood and oxygen flowing, but it doesn’t jolt the heart back into rhythm. Absent a defibrillator or a shot of epi, it seems to me that a good chest whack is a poor man’s defibrillator.
Now that I think about it, it would have been very realistic to have a AED on a large jet. Hmmm. It wouldn’t have been any use to Charlie, but it would have had a kick-ass battery on it.
Upon re-watch, I had some comments/observations:
a) Okay, Danielle murdered all her co-workers because she feared that if someone came to rescue them, they might spread the infection. Why, then, did she leave that distress signal?
b) What is in Kate’s backpack and why does she carry it everywhere she goes? Why didn’t Jack offer to carry it for her as they were trekking through the jungle.
c) As Jack wondered, how could Ethan single handedly drag two people? At another point (when they figured out that Kate could also track), Locke found two distinct paths. I think this supports my theory that Ethan is not necessarily in cahoots with the Others.
d) Why was Locke so dismissive of whatshisname (the kid’s father)? (It’s ironic I can’t remember his name.)?
e) Locke must have some awesome razors to keep his head and face so closely shaven.
She hasn’t said “Eh?” once. She’s not Canadian.
She told Sayid that the “others” were controlling the signal now.
PunditLisa
a) The distress signal is in a remote location, possibly inaccessible.
b) The item in her backpack, if it exists, is the Prop of Future Plot Contrivance. When you peer inside, it glows like Marsellius Wallace’s suitcase.
c) Actually, two distinct paths would tend to support the idea that Ethan is in cahoots with someone: Ethan met up with his accomplices in the jungle and handed Claire off to them while taking Charlie in another direction to hang.
d) Walt’s father’s name is Michael. I think it’s suspicious that Locke limited the number of trackers in the first place and kept trying to get rid of people as they approached the metal plate area. He tried to send away the Jack twice, them allowed Kate and Jack to split up in unknown territory to follow the second trail without nary a protest about safety, and tried to send Boone away twice.
e) Well, he has 500 knives, too. Surely one of them could be spared for grooming.
But she only sent the distress signal **after **they were all dead. Assuming she is not infected, the danger of rescue would be gone. No?
That didn’t come out right. Fixed:
Yes, I thought this was very suspicious, too. I’m not sure Locke is in cahoots with Ethan, but something is fishy. Someone mentioned he might be in cahoots with “the island”, and I like that idea. Also, remember that he had one black eye and one white eye in the dream. He’s either: both good AND bad or neither good NOR bad.
Also, not that Boone asked if they were “lost” after the split up from Jack and Kate. Call me overreative, but “not idly do the writers drop theshow’s title into the dialogue”, if you get my drift. Locke said they weren’t lost, btw.
And he seemed genuinely curious about the metal (which sounded very hollow to me!!) thingy.
Of course, Locke may be in cahoots with Ethan, if Ethan is separate from “the others”. But the fact that Ethan threatened Jack makes me think that is unlikely.
Something else I noticed about the backgammon game.
First of all Hurley was playing black. Usually the opposite color in backgammon is brown, but black is not unknown.
Second, they were using the same set of dice. Normally, each player has their own set of dice that match the color of their pieces. Granted, a simple, “we lost the other dice” would suffice as an explanation for this. I just don’t like to leave any stone unturned.
My set is like that-- redish-brown.
I noticed it, too, and thought the lost other pair was probably what happened.
Hmmm, lost… that’s it! The whole story is about how the other set of dice were LOST!!!
