Make up your mind.
You’re not the only one – I was thinking the same thing. That Hurley really should tell them what he learned from Danielle, and about his numbers thing. Because for all we know, Locke is going to notice the numbers on the metal thing with the hatch, and not know that they are significant. They might learn things collectively faster if they started telling each other what they’ve learned so far individually.
No doubt she has plenty of valuable info, and I would have thought somebody would have sought her out sooner (after Sayid came back). But as for hanging out with her more? Considering her penchant for booby-traps, some folks might be a little averse to choosing the French Woman Proximity Health Plan for their island health coverage.
Dude, Hurley’s my hero.
So now we need to find out why Hurley was in the psych ward in the first place. He doesn’t appear to be on any medications, so it doesn’t seem like he’s affected by it anymore, but… I’m glad to know there’s still more of Hurley’s backstory yet to be told. Hopefully, it means they’re not going to kill him anytime soon.
I don’t remember - when Claire was having her nightmares what was Hurley’s reaction? I know that most people except Charlie dismissed her fears. In retrospect, I’d now expect that Hurley would have been more willing to respect somebody else’s apparently irrational beleifs.
Well, had Charlie not decided to be a douche about the whole thing, he might have done it. But considering that Hurley has such a hangup about people saying he’s crazy, and considering that Charlie scoffed when Hurley told him about the curse, and laughed at him when he told him about the money, I doubt Hurley’s going to talk to anyone any time soon.
We know what the to the box company in Tustin refers to (Locke’s employer), but what about the sneaker company in Canada? Does that tie in somehow? It seems like sooner or later, we’ll see how all of the castaways are connected.
I like this show, but I hope that it doesn’t build an enormous mystery like Twin Peaks did without a satisfactory resolution to everything.
And thanks to Monstre for the summary of the scene of Hurley and Lenny in the psychiatric hospital (we had an Amber Alert just then).
I doubt you can from fat, but yes for skin - “hide glue” is favored by persnickity furniture restorers, as far as I know.
Financial Guy: “You are now the 51% owner of a box company in Tustin (? - did I hear that right?).”
So who has Locke’s back story on tape to check this out?

Yes, you have to wonder why Hurley wants to keep so much secret. BTW, thanks for the dialogue a few posts back. In CA we had an Amber Alert right at that time, so I went from “Not house pulling Hurley away” to “Hurley on the rickety bridge” with nothing inbetween.
This was absolutely, without question, the best episode so far. The numbers draw people to the island. CFL is not so crazy after all. It’s high time they went to look for her.
I’m starting to think my idea from a few weeks ago might have some merit. This show plays out with everyone getting killed off except for one person-- Hurley? The final episode shows a new plane crash or boat wreck with a whole new set of castaways to start all over again. They find one Crazy French Lady, and one Crazy Fat Guy (or whoever is left from our current crop of castaways).
I guess everyone caught the refrence to the “box company in Tustin”, which is where Locke was employed. Does every backstory have a reference to one of the other castaways?
Wow, we got to see more of the metal object. It almost looks like one of the Civil War era Ironclads. The critical numbers engraved on the side.
More questions. I don’t know if I can wait 6 weeks, but how much do you want to bet that the next new episode doesn’t advance the plot much, but just deals wiht the interpersonal relationships again…?
I’m feeling whooshed. THGttG?
- The answer to the meaning of life, the universe, and eveything.
And, as I recall, the reason we know Locke works in a box factory in Tucson was because he told … Hurley (when he was conducting his census). Maybe this was the real reason Hurley got freaked out by the conversation.
Was the “scenes from the next episode” part at the end giving scenes from a new episode or from a rerun?
Those who saw it might understand why I am asking…

Rerun.
How many people do you think will be using the “magic numbers” in their Lottery picks this week?
One thing that is going on that makes this show so tantalizing is that information is not totally shared among the Lost. We know a lot of stuff that the individual characters do not - therefore it could be many episodes before people start adding up the pieces.
The only time I remember Locke specifically saying he worked for a box company (i.e. identifying the kind of company) was in the episode with Boone – when they were out in the jungle together, and Boone asked what he did back in the States.
I just went back and looked at the episode with the census (110 - “Raised By Another”), to the conversation between Hurley and Locke. Locke didn’t mention the box company, but he did say, “I lived most of my life in Tustin, California”.
So sounds like a pretty sure bet that it’s the box company Hurley owns.
or why Hurley was in a psychiatric hospital…
And more importantly, how many of those people will start having buildings catch on fire around them, and people fall and break limbs, and other freak accidents.
Ease up, everyone - Locke gives people “what they need”. I don’t think you should indict him for asking a few questions to determine what that is.
