This was before we knew that Ethan was an evil SOB. And before we knew that Ethan wasn’t on the plane.
And in the first episode after Claire got kidnapped, when the search parties were out looking, Locke (talking to Jack) blames himself, having spent time hunting with Ethan but not realizing.
I’m not convinced that Locke is innocent. He may very well know that Ethan is of the Island, or he may refuse to see the implications. Watch next week’s episode, but Locke seems more intent on leading the search party astray than with finding Claire.
It was nice to see Dannielle again. She may be a CFL, but she knows what starts to happen after 2 months on the island. And, in 2 weeks we got to see:
Per the preview: the return of Ethan! My on screen guide says that Ethan appears to demand that the crew returns Claire to him. Apparently, Claire escaped.
