Still no flash or recoil.
Pfft. I never even got the slightest impression that Sawyer had fired at all.
Has Sawyer even fired a gun since the Polar Bear?
-Joe
Eko would be fine with that, the Bible doesn’t really mention them.
I also hope Hurley gets with Libby.
“Hey ladies…it’s Hurley time!”
My question is, how did BB know their names? Spying? or is the hatch bugged? Would he have known, say, Claire’s name, since I don’t believe she’s ever been down there?
Didn’t Sawyer fire the flare gun on the raft? Did he fire shots at The Others on the raft as well?
Nah, just look at Jack and Locke’s reactions right after the shot. They are looking into the jungle behind BB with a searching “where exactly did that come from” expressions on their faces; not “Sawyer, you’re an idiot” or “holy shit a force field.”
I don’t see anything that would indicate anything other than a sniper in the darkness grazing Sawyer.
Too bad the sniper wasn’t back-lit for dramatic effect too.

Yes. After the polar bear, when there was only 1 bullet left for that original gun, Sawyer was the one to go into the marshall’s tent to put him out of his misery (at the marshall’s request). Sawyer shot him in the chest, but missed the heart (perforated the lung instead).
Michael fired the flare gun.
Sawyer pulled his gun on the raft, but it wasn’t clear to me (on reviewing that scene) whether he got a shot off or not, before the henchman shot him in the shoulder.
In the previews for next week, I thought I saw Hurley asking Libby, “Do I know you from somewhere?” If she was really studying to be a psychologist, is it possible she was there when Hurley was in the psych ward?
Nah – that would be a totally implausible coincidence.
And, of course, there are no implausible coincidences on this island. Riiight.
If you check out the capture here I count about thirteen.
Also, I see several people, one per torch, giving more credance to BB/Zeke/Mr. Happy.
Oh, and forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is the signifigance of “Zeke”?
Because he made sure they were all on the plane and then crashed it?
I’m not too involved in this show anymore. It’s entertaining, I’ll keep watching, but I don’t really care what’s actually going on until they get around to telling me, if they ever do.
As long as there’s the possibility of seeing a half naked Jack once in awhile, I’m in.
Sarah: I’m leaving you. I’ve been seeing someone else.
**Me (as Jack):**You mean I could’ve boned the hot Italian chick guilt-free?!
Great minds (in the gutter) think alike.
As for Sarah telling Jack about the non-pregnancy, I thought it was quite clearly an act of veiled hostility. If she didn’t have anything to talk about, there was no reason to bring it up. She wanted to shock him, worry him, engage his interest in her, then cut him off at the knees. Presumably, she felt it was turnabout.
And speaking of pregnancy, I’ve been saying for ages that they should address the birth control issue. If nothing else, Jin and Sun are no doubt active.
And Monstre, thanks for the hearty laugh. I love that a possible side effect of Death[sup]TM[/sup] is death.
Sawyer called the bearded man “Zeke.”
Just out of curiosity, what does the stereotypical “holy shit a force field!” face look like?
“Zeke” is a stereotypical Appalachian appellation. (Derived from “Ezekial,” though I wouldn’t make too much of that.) The fella had a crazy beard and looked like he could stand a bath, so Sawyer hung it on him. Sawyer’s a bit of a dick that way.
Anybody else notice that most of Sawyers’ nicknames are based on physical appearances? He calls Locke “Mr Clean” not “Tonto” or “Socrates” or “Knife Boy”. Hurley is “Pillsbury” not “Blabbermouth”; Kate is “Freckles” not “Psycho”; Walt is “Short Round” not “Danny Torrance”. An indication that Sawyer doesn’t get close to the other castaways and only knows them on the surface level? Or maybe he only makes derogatory nicknames about their surface appearance to avoid saying something more hurtful about their personalities?
I was a bit curious how Locke knew that Sawyer was James Ford and how come they never suspected Sawyer as an Other since he wasn’t on the flight manifest as Sawyer? Locke said Hurley showed him the manifest but how did Locke know pick out the name James Ford for Sawyer when there must have been dozens of names of other passengers that did not survive the crash (and they had no bodies to match them to)?
Nice.
And thanks for the explanation – I was wondering on the significance of that chosen nickname, too. Now it makes sense.
Which I interpreted as a “what the hell just happened and where did the mysterious vanishing man go?” look. A very poorly edited scene.
