Lost 2.11: "The Hunting Party"

Me (as Jack): Honey, you’re hot, but Gabriela is hotter than hot. See ya!!!

We saw her coming out of the water at the same time as AnaL.

Yeah, it would be Hurley’s rotten luck if his love interest turned out to be one of the Others or the other Others. Poor Hurley. :frowning:
Oh, and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I like Ana Lucia. I think she will turn out to be a very valuable person on the island. Perhaps training the Lostaway Army Corp will redeem her, no?

In the Amazing “Lost” Chess Board Of My Mind, Ana Lucia is a sacrifice Knight*. (Look, there she is, between Rook Sawyer and Bishop Eko!) That she’ll serve a useful purpose, there is no doubt: her role is to serve and to protect Jack. Part of me believes that she was asked to train the army because she is needed on the front lines. Where all the action is. And the bullets. And the death.

** = This is changed from my earlier theory that Sayid is a sacrifice Knight, because I like him better. Although, AnaL’s hair and Sayid’s hair are pretty much interchangeable at this point. What? Oh, sorry. I need a nap. For about a week. Never mind me.*

Ok, your’e entitled to you’re opinion but if it was my chess game I’d like to sacrifice the CharliePawn and the MichaelPawn as soon as possible.

Tired of taking the pill? Fed up with over-the-counter sponges and spermicides? Is he complaining about loss of sensation from wearing condoms? Introducing, from Monstre Industries, a new prescription contraceptive product – Death[sup]TM[/sup].

You’ve seen the research, you know the stats. Sponges and spermicides are not always effective at preventing pregnancy, and they do not protect against HIV or other STDs. In fact, no method of birth control is 100% effective… until now. Death[sup]TM[/sup] birth control is guaranteed 100% effective at preventing unwanted pregnancy, or your money back.

This revolutionary new product comes in a choice of delivery systems – from the patented Death[sup]TM[/sup] Morning-After Pill, containing a special quick-dissolve cyanide-arsenic formula, to the Death[sup]TM[/sup] Fast-Acting Injection Capsule, easily placed under the skin via any standard handgun.

Death[sup]TM[/sup] may not be for everyone. People with a history of heart disease should not use Death[sup]TM[/sup]. Side effects of Death[sup]TM[/sup] may include dizziness, nausea, vomiting, bleeding, and death. Ask your doctor if Death[sup]TM[/sup] is right for you.

Wouldn’t that be cool? Killing off a major character in such an offhand, not to mention off-screen manner. Please, please, please!

As for the number of cartridges…I need to go back and ID the rifle Michael took. IIRC, it looked like a Remington 700 or the like, which means a seriously limited number of shells. Like 5.

Soon to be a Major Motion Picture.

I kind of think he’d grab some extra shells - a box or a few clips or SOMETHING.

Of course, we all know how clouded our brains can get when we’re focussed on WAAAAAAAAAALT!

“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT!”

“Shut up, dad. You’re embarrassing me in front of my new hot girlfriend, Alex…”

I’m surprised nobody has commented that Libby is obviously bound for the glue factory here. Remember, Hurley cares for her now. That’ll end worse than Kneivel at Snake River Canyon. That’s more of a death wish than casting Ted McGinley. Remember what Danielle said to him about the numbers – they took every person that she cared for until she was all alone. That is Hurley’s fate, and now Libby’s along with him.

Also I like the direction Locke’s character is going. I also stand by an old theory of mind about the madness that is coming due to the “sickness.” Look at the menace behind BB’s saying “nearly two months” when asking Jack how long they have been on the island. Michael probably has been taken. Jack is next, Kate probably not far behind. Charlie’ll be next. We’ll see what happens after to Claire after the Other’s or Danielle takes Turniphead Locke and Hurley are doomed to survive.

So did anyone get an impression of exactly what happened with the gunfire? My impression was that Sawyer shot at BB at basically point blank range, and ended up hitting himself in the ear. Meanwhile, BB vanished as if ethereal, and then reappared a few moments later.

If BB is immune to bullets and can teleport, I don’t see how having an army is going to help.

I agree that the conversation really made no sense and was totally unsatisfying.

Wow, I never saw that at all. What I thought happened was that Sawyer took aim, and someone from the shadows winged him. I only watched it once, though.

Well, that goes without saying! I was thinking of AnaKnight as more of high-level, endgame sort of sacrifice. I mean, I want her gone, but she’s going to serve a purpose for a bit longer. I don’t want CharliePawn around any longer than absolutely necessary (although I don’t have the same hate for Michael that you do).

It would be exceedingly difficult to accidentally shoot yourself in the ear. Most likely a good shot grazed him with a round.

Well, duh

I thought it was yet another example of island magic/nanotechnology.

Remember Jack’s comment to BB about there only being one guy (other than BB) out there with a gun. Thus cementing the marksman, in the jungle/darkness, grazing Sawyer with a shot.

i was confused too. clearly BB wanted sawyer to think there was a marksman, but the way the scene played out it seemed like sawyers bullet richocheted back at him.

We were talking about this in the Lost Questions Thread. Here was my reply when the question came up:

I also worry about Jack’s army if there is a shooter on BB’s crew that can graze someone’s face.

Pehaps he’s a *bad *shot - maybe he was aiming for a kneecap!
