Interesting parallel between the events in Michael’s freeing of pseudoGale and Sayid’s rescue of Nadia, huh?
means to an end… not AL specifically, could’ve been anyone sitting there… his mission was clearly to help not-so-Henry to escape, and to re-enter the group.
To what end is what we do not know yet.
Libby’s death fits the pattern for Hurley’s bad luck… everytime he starts to feel happy, something bad happens… and for no apparent reason other than ‘bad timing’.
PseudoGale seemed to have a personal thing against AL due to her role in the deaths of two of his (presumed) comrades. Perhaps Michael had been ordered/brainwashed into avenging them.
I’m pretty sure Libby hasn’t killed any Others, so Michael probably didn’t have any instructions with respect to her.

Buh bye hobbit.
I’m pretty confident it was one for AL and two for Libby.
Maybe that makes Libby ‘The Road’?

Okay, I’m wrong. Two shots to Libby. Mea culpa.
Notice how the writers keep throwing us clues that it might be the Lostaways who are the bad guys and that The Others are the good guys? Maybe next season they they’ll tell us the story from The Others’ point of view. The writers love leading us down blind allies, and the idea that this is simply Lostaways vs Others is, IMO, one of those blind allies.
Let’s not forget the original Two for the Road (although I don’t quite know how that applies to Lost).
They always seem to have multiple meanings for their episode titles. The other possible meanings of this one weren’t apparent until the very end but it is rather amusing.
Yep, don’t drink and drive folks!
Well, Ardt pointed out that there was a couple sharing blankets on the beach whose spouses back home would be a bit surprised to find out about it, and they didn’t die.
Then again, Ardt did get blowed up real good almost immediately afterward…
I don’t think it’s all that unusual for Sawyer to have forgotten about the gun after the AnaL sex. Who among us hasn’t accidentally left a watch, wallet or gun at someone’s house after a “rendevous” ?
Also, considering the recent real life adventures of the AnaL and Libby, the episode title totally cracks me up.
Like Jin, I give this episode a thumbs up.
I would assume that Libby’s chances of survival are somewhere between zero and -100. If the bullets went into her intestines and unless the hatch is a full-fledged trauma center, she’s going to bleed out, get a massive infection or some nasty combination.
Then again, Rose and Locke are feeling quite spry on the island. But can the Island heal a bullet wound?
Sawyer recovered pretty well but the island couldn’t heal a shrapnel wound or a compound fracture or being sucked into a jet engine or blown to bits by old dynamite … okay, the last two would be difficult. But Sawyer’s wound wasn’t in the gut where there’s all sorts of nasty things to leak out of intestines and give a raging infection if you don’t manage to die right off from blood loss or shock. No, it’s not looking good for Libby. Still I think she may not be completely dead yet but will she manage to tell everyone what really happened before she died? Of course not.
Does anyone wonder if the “good ones” may mean something other than morally good? At this point there’s no reason to believe that Claire or Rose and Bernard are really horrible people yet they never managed to grab Bernard, they had Claire but were going to let her die and take her baby (of course she did have sex without marriage). Perhaps good may mean something along the lines of a good specimen. Either there is something psychological or physical that makes them good for the Others purposes. Although, Henry’s talk to AL about how Goodwin thought he could “reform” AL makes it seem like they are talking morally good, however he may just be playing mind games with her.
I wasn’t expecting a double knock-off with a twist.* Dang!!
And just to add to Sawyer’s catalogue of nicknames: Lucy, Muchacha (for AL, of course); and Brutus (for Locke).
*A Lost mixed drink.
PREDICTION TIME!
I predict that Libby will manage to whisper “Michael shot me.” (or words to that effect) to Hurley before giving up the ghost. Soon after, Hurley will finally remember Libby from the mental hospital. The resulting conflict will be:
Should Hurley believe her, what with her being a mental patient and all. And if he does, will anyone believe Hurley, what with him being a mental patient and recently acting kinda crazy to the point of asking Sawyer for meds.
I dunno. I’ll bet Claire has gotten it on with Scott (or is it Steve?).
Here is what Damon Lindelof has to say about it:
Basically, they intended this all along and almost changed the plans when both actresses got DUI’s. Then they decided to go ahead and proceed since it’s the best story.
Wow, this was a roller coaster of an episode. They hit all the emotions and of course ended with a cliffhanger. I think Lost defines ‘pulp’ tv.
