Perhaps the reason no-one came to replace Desmond’s predecessor (Kelvin) had something to do with Rousseau tampering with the numbers transmission. The cessation of the numbers transmission was taken by the Hanso Foundation as a signal that the numbers had not been entered, and everything went KABOOM (or whatever disaster is supposed to occur if the number aren’t entered.) Doesn’t explain why they didn’t investigate some French lady mucking about with their gear, but I could suspend my disbelief there.
Desmond has apparently been there for 3 years, and the numbers transmision was interrupted by Rousseau about 16 years ago. So either Kelvin was there for at least 13 years, or he was himself another castaway like Desmond. Or my theory is crap. :smack:
Well, that’s one of the big questions–if her broadcast is powerful enough to drown out their own, it should be powerful enough to have been picked up by now…
And if you Zoom way in on the picture, the rabbit’s fur appears to be a vast labyrinth. Also looks like there is some sort of signature/writing at the bottom of the neck but I can’t make it out.
The more that I think about it, the more I agree that Jin is in on it somehow. With which group, I am not sure. The “Others” who have Walt? It would explain how he got back to the island before Mike and Sawyer if that is true.
If the other survivors believe he can’t speak English, it is a perfect cover for him to hear their conversations. Did he want to go along on the raft to make sure they were caught?
Plus all of the Asian connections we have seen on the show makes me think it is not a coincidence. If it is true it is a huge twist.
If this is the case, I think Sun is not aware of it.
Interesting theory. Maybe the reason that he was so possessive about the watch last season, wasn’t a sense a duty. Maybe the watch is part of his mission. He gave it back to Michael before the raft trip, right?
I don’t see the 2FENO6, but I do see the polar bears, which is not what I saw when I wrote post #235. Nor do I see any rabbits that Broken Wind referred to in #264.
Hmm, this page is worthy of keeping an eye on. . .
There’s a red blip in one frame when the bears cross together. You can pause the Flash and zoom in, and the 2FENO6 is there.
I wonder if it’s possible to get to the previous Flashes. The rabbit, which I saw earlier today, had audio over it that sounded sped up. I didn’t have a chance at the time to capture and slow it to hear what was being said.
It cycles through different ones, every 108 minutes – so the polar bears should be gone in fifteen minutes or so. Looks like that aspect is done with a cron job that copies different files over a file named “lost.sfw,” so there’s no way to get to the other flash movies, since there’s no way to know where they are or what they’re called.
Thanks, I was going to say that. Of course the problem remains…the transmission must have had an intended recipient, so unless Rousseau also changed the frequency and/or transmission strength, the Dharma people should have heard the new message and come to have a look-see.
I keep having the feel that the program was the brainchild of one faction in the company, and then something happened to that faction: deaths, retirement, lost a power-struggle. Which backburnered the project. And then over time the rules on experimenting on humans became more stringent, and the project was not only a ‘waste of money’ but a potentially major embarassment to a company that had moved on to other enterprises.
Or maybe not: if it was headed by a single charismatic individual, his death could have let to the company withering away in short order.
Either way, if communication with the island group was lost – say, when CFL changed the frequency of the transmission – I can see a lot of ‘we should do something about that …some day’ waffling and buck passing until the whole thing was filed away in the archives and simply forgotten.
Is there any evidence in the underground complex that they must have gotten deliveries later than the date of CFL’s actions?
You should be able to right-click and uncheck Play. You don’t have to get it exactly when the dot pops up; you can go forward and back a frame at a time too.
