$5.97. Worth it? Sure.

Her research team wasn’t headed for the island, though, as we’d assume they would be if they were part of a Dharma project of some kind. I think they were innocent bystanders like the Losties.
You’re right though, that’s got to be another station. I wonder if they’ve had polar bears and things going bump in the night?
I also noticed that Ana Lucia used a secret knock to get into the bunker. So they must have had contact with other people at some point, and have reason to worry about meeting them again.
I didn’t hate this episode, despite my protestations to the contrary. I like “talky” episodes and character development. But I also like clues to the bigger things that might be going on. This time we got a better sense of who Hurley is, but it didn’t help me get a better sense of how he fits into The Grander Scheme of Things. In a few weeks, when I suddenly see the puzzle pieces that are out of my line of vision right now, I’m sure I will come back and say, “Damn it! That was a great episode!” My problem is that I have no attention span, I think. (Which kind of makes me wonder why I watch this show, but still, I’m hooked.)
Question: The (presumed) Dharma logo on the Rear Section Bunker wall – which one was that? It didn’t look like the same logo that was on the Sea Monster tail, and it definitely isn’t the Swan. Does it match the pictures of the Dharma logo on the plane from Season 1 that are swirling around, or is this another one we haven’t seen before?
What’s everyone’s take on the new symbol? Just looked like a cross with the spiderweb around it, but I’m sure you guys will come up with something.
The show hasn’t aired yet here…And I am dying to know what’s up with Jin and his English-speaking self. I’m forcing myself not to look any further into this thread.
Judging from the guest star listing for next week’s ep (on IMDB), the flashbacks next week will be about…
Jin
I thought it was a good episode…I’m with the others that say as long as the story progresses and the character development continues I’m satisfied without having all the questions answered.
I’m not sure I’d be banging around under the facility hammering on things with a bit piece of titanium if I were in their situation…especially near an obviously high magnetic field. They gots bigger balls than I do…or less brains.
The hispanic chick (ana I believe) while fairly hot is getting extremely annoying. I don’t know about you guys but I kept hoping Sawyer would knock her block off. Her reactions just seem…odd and over the top.
Looks like next week we’ll learn a bit more about the others if I’m understanding the previews.

Ana needs to get eaten by a polar bear. She is mega-annoying.
Or they’re paranoid. It’s obvious they’re a little nutty.
Maybe they’re… sick.
I’m in agreement with those who find Ana Lucia annoying, sort of. Really, I find Michelle Rodriguez annoying. Oh, look, she’s playing a tough Latin chick. Who thought up THAT remarkable out-of-type casting? Next thing you know they’ll be casting Jim Carrey as a nutty doofus or Danny DeVito as an irritating short guy.
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Michelle Rodriguez in the movie “Girlfight” (pre-Million Dollar Baby)? I don’t like her either, perhaps they brought her in so those of us who dislike Kate could have someone we hate more?
I am with the group that prefers character development over answers. Sure I want some answers but I don’t need everything at once. I loved this episode and I thought there was a lot going on. I got all teary at the end over Bernard and Rose, they’d better not have something happen to either of them before they can reunite.
The logo on the plane from Tabula Rasa appears to me to be the swan. It isn’t very clear though.
Fairly hot? Super hot. And super annoying. I’m sure what they’ve been through is pretty distressing, but I don’t see any reason for her to act like such a bitch to those who aren’t her enemies. Maybe I’ll feel differently later.
Cute episode. Not bad. But I fear that I must join with those who wished for a little more development: while it’s nice to learn some more about Hurley, it would have been nicer still to be able to tie that knowledge into what’s going on with the show’s plot. I couldn’t help but get the feeling that this episode was stretched a little too thin for filler.
And to be honest, how much did we really learn about Hurely other than that he has poor problem solving skills (blow up the food? What the fuck)? We didn’t even witness anybody hating him - we just got the implication that they did.
For once I’m the first to post something that I noticed from the episode!
First, look at this TV Guide listing for next week’s episode:
“Sun searches frantically for her missing wedding ring.”
Well, near the end of tonight’s episode I noticed this:
As Sun placed the message-bottle into the hole she’d dug in the sand, her ring was clearly visible on her left ring finger, right where it belonged.
Moments later, when she filled the hole back in with sand, we could see just as clearly that the ring was no longer there.
For noticing this, I would like it entered in the record that I rule.
I agree with what everyone said about Anna Lucia, but what I found most annoying is that she can’t act. Every time she opened her mouth I thought I must be watching a cheap science fiction movie.
Another slow episode… What I find irritating is that the small answers are withheld just to withhold them. For instance, we have the blond tail section lady telling Michael that there were 23 people, and the show just leaves that matzo ball hanging, when the next obvious question, without missing a beat would be “What happened?” Even if the answer is “The others got them” then that feels like a big advancement in the space of 5 seconds, and doesn’t really give that much away for next week. As it is, it is hinted at in the scenes from next week. Which is another irritating point – think about it. We probably feel like there is not much plot advancement because we figure a lot out from the scenes from next week. We guessed that the “Others” were tail sectioners, we kind of know that. Similar to the guesses about Jin speaking English and it being a dream.
Anyway, things that we did find out:
Anything else?
Thinking of things that are hot, radioactive, and magnetic, I dunno, a tokamak reactor or something? A UFO motor?
How do we know its radioactive? Did I miss something?

What happened to the other 23 people? Was I the only one who thought…cannibalism?
Also, there was something familiar about the ‘evil’ group in an underground bunker, along with a couple of ‘good’ guy hostages, and the ‘good’ group in another one. Then it hit me: Watership Down. One of the books Sawyer was reading in the first season.
Too much of a stretch? Probably, but I’m searching for anything here, folks!
Jack asks Sayid what he thinks it is. He answers that the last thing that he remembers encased in concrete like this was Chernobyl.
Yeah, but it may also be put away to contain anouter kind of energy, like geothermal. Or to contain the massive gravitational power. After all, it it can move his key while powered down through all that concrete…
Something I THINK I saw…was Hurley’s chicken boss the same guy who used to bug Locke about his games? And ol’ Hurley looked kinda scary there for a minute, didn’t he?
I agree that Ana is kinda annoying, and that Charly was being a dick. (So was Locke, kinda). I missed what Hurley said to Jack at the end though.
If the thing that Sayid and Jack found was a geothermal generator, what was the purpose of the cable leading into the ocean? I assumed it provided power to the island from an off-island source, but now I think it might be providing power to something off-island.
As for Ana Lucia, I’m kind of hoping for an Ana Lucia/Kate catfight. Juvenile, I know, but it would be amusing.
