Lost 2.7 "The Other 48 Days"
If Cindy knows Kate from before, she could have been on the plane trying to help Kate bust out. Assuming that this is the case, she could deduce the following:

 • There are other survivors.
 • Jin has the handcuff on, so Kate managed to get out of her cuffs.
 • Kate is therefore possibly alive and free elsewhere on the island.

If Cindy also knows Ana-Lucia is a cop, Cindy would have a perfect excuse to shake loose and head for Kate’s location.
Well, when you combine knowing the name of the episode for the 30th and knowing who the flashbacks are about thanks to a news article.

The episode on the 30th is titled What Kate Did… and the flashbacks are Ana Lucia’s… so from that I can figure that Ana Lucia is most likely a cop (which was already figured) and she met Kate in the past and knows what she did which started Kate’s running. This also explains where Cindy comes in, because any flashbacks of Ana Lucia’s (or any of the other Tailies) that take place on the island can include her.

I wonder when we’ll get flashbacks from Mr Eko? I really want to learn what makes him tick.

Erm. You didn’t.

But we have a nice consolation prize for you – thanks for playing…

According to TV Tome:

This week’s flashbacks are Analucia’s, and “What Kate Did” is all Kate flashbacks–though they do seem to have a lot of the same guest stars.

Or the flashbacks just include some scenes on the plane where Cindy is a flight attendant.

Captain! The engines are losing power, and it’s not regenerating!
Scotty, find a way to get us out of here, or you’re fired!

I would have to agree that the psycological diffirences between these two groups are too striking to be accidental.

Tailies: Fewer of them, less resources, less usefull or socially outgoing people, one hard but abrasive leader and one who isn’t as comfortable with becoming less civilized. Frequent raids and more “personal” loss from attacks because of the smallness of the group.

Losties: More people so a bigger sense of security, more resources, more “useful” people. No kids for people to immedialty feel protective towards. All of these advantages are balanced by spooky threats that they can’t fight and overwhelm with simple numbers. A night raid would have been much riskier with the larger number of people, so they just had Ethan go gureilla on them instead.
Also, maybe the people taken from the Losties are the bad people to balance things out. For all we know, Claire’s baby may be a Spawn of Evil. And Walt, too.

Well, he does seem to do a lot of backwards masking these days.

Thank you, Random Outburst Man!

Ahh okay. I was wondering about that. It would be interesting if the flashback thing I read were true though!

um, that was supposed to be in response to the misplaced start of this week’s thread…
