Someonne was yakiing at me during too much of this episode. What did Faraday give us? All I saw was him guessing some cards from CSLEwis, and apparently getting two of three correct.

I think the timelines are going like this:
Flashforward 3.22 (Jack, despondent)
Flashforward 4.1 (Hurley, crazy)
Flashforward 4.2 (Freighter people, collecting)
Flashforward 4.3 (Sayid, murderous)
Flashforward 4.4 (Kate, incarcerated)

Island 4.4
Island 4.3
Island 4.2
Island 4.1
Island 3.22
Not my favorite episode this season, but certainly some interesting tidbits revealed. I look forward to Faraday’s memory problems being delved into more; I expect that will end up being a fairly important point.
I thought it was odd (or to be less charitable, dumb) that Jack & Co. waited so long to force contact with the boat. I mean, how long should it take the helicopter to get there? Like 30 minutes maybe? It’s not that far away. I would have thought that after an hour or so they would have been tearing their hair out, particularly given that they don’t really know the “alignment” of the Boaties.
I agree completely - this is exactly what I think is going on. The question, of course, is why? And that’s the whole point of the flash forwards, to get us all tensed up about what happened on the island to make it turn out like that. (It’s working for me).
And Locke is a prick.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. We’ve seen lots of her crimes, but I can’t remember any that were committed in CA.
Plus, the idea that the whole case rested on her mother’s testimony is pretty ridiculous.
Anyway, this episode wasn’t quite as good as the last two. I assume “Eggtown” refers to the eggs that Locke seemed to be cooking for everyone. I guess we should have guessed there would be a surprise about Aaron after that exchange between Claire and Kate as they were doing laundry. Keep in mind that Aaron is Jack’s nephew (since he’s Claire’s half-sibling).
Isn’t Jack Arron’s Uncle?
Is it important to note that chickens can make eggs? (get pregnant)
Yes, but he doesn’t know that.
Also, Aaron has a living (though absentee) father who presumably has a family. And if the baby is a celebrity with a huge settlement from Oceanic coming his way, fatherhood might start looking a lot better.
I am quite sure that I am unsure if Kate’s son Aaron is the same Aaron as Claire’s Aaron
Perhaps Claire is dead, and Kate has her Aaron. Perhaps Aaron and Claire both died, and Kate had Sawyer’s kid and named it Aaron. While all signs point towards this being Claire’s Aaron, we do not know the time line involved, we do not know if the island increases any growth or metabolic processes, etc…
As long as Kate doesn’t refer to him as her “bye-beeeeeee” I can stomach this plot twist.
Either something happens to Claire and she cannot leave the island or someone “psychic” tells her that she has to get her baby off the island but she cannot leave. Even though Claire was originally going to give the baby up, the only way she would do so now is if she were dead or convinced it was for his benefit. I haven’t been crazy about Kate but she’s not heartless, she wouldn’t take Aaron without Claire’s okay just to insure her own escape.
Claire’s mother said she had been given six months to live for the past 4 years. If I recall Kate tried to get in to see her at the hospital while she was having tests done. We don’t know exactly how long Kate was on the run after that but I think that we are being led to believe that time passes faster off the island so that it would not be impossible for those off the island to believe that someone had conceived either within a couple months before the crash (since she was not noticeably pregnant when she boarded the plane) or on the island and had the baby on the island, because everyone seems to believe that Aaron is Kate’s child.
I wonder if Daniel is supposed to be psychic or if he is supposed to have an eidetic memory?
If you didn’t read the info at Lostpedia I will briefly explain eggtown. I don’t consider this spoiler since it happened in the episode. It is supposed to be a term relating to bartering during the Great Depression.
Uhh…ep 4.2 was a flashback, not a flashforward. It was the people in charge of the freighter getting the people to go to the island to do…whatever.
Wait, you think the freighter people scenes were flashforwards?
But in those scenes, the discovery of the plane’s wreckage is new news, but we know (or I thought we knew) the plane’s wreckage was discovered before the freighter people arrived. Anyway, that’s what Naomi said, and also, you would think that if the wreckage had been discovered after the 6 were rescued, the rescue would have been mentioned in the news broadcasts. Also, I can’t see why Lapidus would be calling people up about the identity of the pilot if he’s already somehow involved in the cover up.

I am 100% sure it’s the same Aaron. There wouldn’t be time for Kate to get pregnant, go to term and deliver and have the kid be that old (looked somewhere north of 2) by the time of the trial.
“Is it important to note that chickens can make eggs? (get pregnant)” - this was posted by a poster named “Flightless Bird” who should know that chickens can produce eggs without being pregnant - similarly so can women.
Whoops, you’re right. My bad.
Kate: Tom, you can try to get custody of Aaron. But as you abandoned him before he was even born, you may not do so well in court. Or you can take this sizable chunk of cash from my Ocianic settlement and buy yourself some nice paints. There’s a good boy.
In fairness I should also point out that if Kate is presenting Aaron as her biological child, then he obviously gets his blond hair from Gramma.
I missed it too; the conversation here seems to be that he forgot the third card, I was under the impression that he was trying to guess the cards.
Durring the black screen/Lost logo, did anyone have faint white waves sweeping across the scene right to left? I checked other channels so I know it wasn’t my tv. I drove me crazy wondering if it was just the HD feed, didnt have time to check the regular; I didn’t notice it durring the actual show either. Or could it have been some bastard scrap of a clue thrown into the logo to drive the viewers madder still, like the city in the island’s reflection. However, if they are something, I have no idea what. I don’t remember paying attention to them other times maybe someone has noticed a pattern of what episodes they might have been on?
…and I probably wasted all the ink on my screen typing that wondering about what was merely just Comcast’s bad.
Something about the look in Kate’s eyes in that final scene was just not right. Like it wasn’t love, it was an obsession; Locke and the island, Charlie and the heroin, Gollumn and the ring, Benny and the jets…wait what?
I’m not sure what it means for a chicken to be pregnant, but domestic birds have been bred to be able to lay eggs without having had intercourse with a rooster, if that’s what you’re getting at.
Also, was the only one who expected the taxi driver at the end to be either Ben or Sayid?
Oh, and count me as another who was shocked by the baby’s name. I figured, right up until Kate actually said Aaron, that the blonde hair meant it was Sawyer’s. Of course, I suppose it still could be, really, who knows anymore.
I’m pretty sure that Aaron is Claire’s Aaron, but there is no reason why two brown haired parents can’t have a blond baby.
