Lost 5.6 "316"

I was think more about this theory and after rewatching had some more quotes to support it:

At the airport-
Jack: Hurley. What are you doing here, how did you know about the…
Hurley: All that matters is that I’m here, right?

On the plane-
Hurley: Wait! Nobody told me he was going to be here!
Ben: Who told you to be here Hugo?

I’m also expecting the new character played by Said Taghmaoui to be one of Widmore’s men.

Umm, err, there is just no way to arrange the Authorities to take a person in custody for multiple capital crimes on a jaunt to Guam.

And, I also ask- Why not just hire a Charter?

But what? You can buy time-travel initiating frozen donkey wheels over the web and they ship them to you in dry ice?

What if his crime was committed (as far as the authorities know) in Guam and he’s being brought back?

I’d like to hear ANY kind explanation of why Wanted Fugitive Kate has been living a perfectly normal life in L.A. for three years. She’s obviously not in hiding, seeing as how she is still going by her name.

Why not hire a charter? Because, I think, they need to replicate the original circumstances, including having this be a commercial flight.

And are you speculating that Frank was supposed to be the pilot or were we told that at some point?

Time is of the essence, and it takes a while to charter a plane. If there’s one already flying that way its much faster to just hop on.

Frank Lapidus | Lostpedia | Fandom

That was how we first met Frank in season 4…when they found the staged crash, Frank called the Oceanic hotline and said that couldn’t be 815 because he knew the pilot because he substituted for him.

ETA: Gfactor wins!

And that Ben would only lie anyway.

But the killings were not commited in Guam.

Yes, they covered this, there was a hearing when she came back and she got off.

It’s possible some were (we only saw the beginning of his career as Ben’s gunsel).

It’s also possible (I’d say likely) that she’s a fake LEO. Ben may even have received his beating from trying to capture Sayid.

It’s also possible, I suppose that Ben was able to fabricate some sort of arrest warrant for Sayid and arrange his arrest, although that’s equally incongruous because he’d need an extradition hearing under most circumstances.

I totally, totally agree with JohnT. Give Kate a frickin’ break. If I were in her position, I would have probably gave in to both Jack and Sawyer;) Anyway, calling her a “slut” is terrible, especially since it’s really not true.

Remember when Ben’s lawyer comes up to Ben (when he was the passenger in the white van, driven by Sayid) and tells Ben that they don’t have enough to hold him (being Hurley) and that he’ll be released–or something along those lines. I’m thinking that Ben’s lawyer=Hurley’s appointed DA. I may be wrong, but that’s what I’ve been thinking.

That’s pretty clear, I think. The guy either showed up and represented Hurley himself (it’d be tough to pull off the DA angle, but he could show up and say he’s been retained to represent Hurley) or he simply made sure the judge dismissed the case as expected.

He was in Vantage Point with Matthew Fox.

So, now the LOST coincidences are extending beyond the LOST universe…

Yep that’s what I thought. Does that mean Locke=Aslan and Jack=Edmund?

If that’s what he’s being held for, sure.

We don’t know what he’s being held for, do we?

This was a setup episode, so I’ll give it a pass on being mediocre.

A few good things.

  • Hurley having a good heart and Ben not caring one way or the other.

  • Lapidus is back! And is not going to Guam after all.

  • Some (new?) mysterious figure built the Lamp post. Who is it?**

  • Somehow the Others have taken the Lamp post away from Dharma AS WELL AS the Island!

  • Seeing Ben wet and beaten and hoping Desmond took care of business.

  • The acting (other than the female Wizard of Oz, she was terrible) in the episode. I thought the regulars were in peak form this episode.

  • The scene between Jack and Locke’s body. Eerie and funny at the same time.
** How many off-screen/semi-off scren “mysterious figures” are there?

Jacob
Whoever invented the Lamp post
Alvar Hanso
Magnus Hanso
Karen Degroot
Gerald Degroot

Who else am I missing? (The Lamp Post might be built by one of the people on this list.)

Lost is still taking place in 2008, so the Bush Administration is still in power. The government didn’t need a reason to obtain an Iraqi and ship him to parts unknown!

Did anyone remember to stop at the pet store?

Really Jack? It just now struck you that things are weird? That you are all some how connected? Really? Was it not until after you completed your residency that you finally thought ‘Hey, the neck bone is connected to the back bone, weird!’? Oh and btw, We Landed On the Moon!

What if Kate is taking Claire’s place now? Was there a new Turniphead planted?

DHS/TSA in the Lostiverse are really lax. An escaped mental patient who just happened to be on board for the last high profile plane crash, was recently spotted at the scene of three murders, after being released from jail immediately tries to buy up all the tickets for an international flight, and throws a fit at the ticket counter over the releasing of those tickets? I guess as long as he wasn’t planning on brushing his teeth or clipping his nails on the flight, none of that other stuff should raise any flags, huh?

I’m still wondering what happened to Rose, Bernard, and Vincent. Was it just them and a bunch of redshirts left roaming on their own after the fire-arrow attack?

Looking on Lostipedia, it seems as though it might not be Jin Workman, butJin Sheriff.
Hurley: “Wait, Jin is Arab? I thought he was Korean?”
Sawyer: “It’s sheriff, not Shariff. Fatwan.”
