LOST 6.5 "Lighthouse"

Darn! Beat me to it. I did a freeze frame, and was about to post that “Wallace” looks like it is at 108 (can’t tell if it was crossed out or not)
Something that COULD be Faraday (or Friendly  ) was at 109

Austen appears to be at 51 (and not crossed out)

I’m sure screencaps will be forthcoming

New theory: The alternate universe has nothing to do with the bomb. It is the universe as it would have been had Jacob not been manipulating people’s lives to get them to the island.

Maybe a dingo ate her baby?
I’m thinking that the series will end in a two hour finale where they stumble across the long lost Hanso Foundation Welcome Center and they basically just watch orientation films explaining all this crap.

FYI, Entertainment Weekly referred to smoke-monster Locke as the Locke-ness Monster. I LOL’ed.

And let’s not forget that when you add up 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 you get 108.

We learned that in the alternate timeline, Jack had an appendectomy at age 7-8 instead of on the island.

Hmph!! Then EW is behind the times. I referred to him that way 3 weeks ago.

And the episode seemed to strongly imply that he had no recollection of getting that appendectomy. In fact, he seemed puzzled to see the scar. It almost seems like their memories have been implanted or not real. Maybe they’re all in a coma. Now THAT would piss people off!

Was that just a clumsy way of them telling us that it was different, or was the scar suddenly becoming too apparent supposed to tell us something? The way Jack looked at it in the mirror made it seem like it was a surprise to him.

Except that we find out that like all the other side-Losties, the non-crashed characters aren’t losers or douches.

I’m starting to wonder if maybe unLocke is the good guy (or the less-bad guy) and Jacob is the real monster.

#1) Everyone Jacob’s fucked with (except maybe Kate, who’s evil and destroys all she touches) has been better off without his interference. I wonder how much of Hurley’s number-related bad luck was Jacob fucking with his head?

#2) We’ve never actually seen unLocke do anything actually bad to people we know are good guys–have we?

#3) The pool that resurrected Ben and made him eeee-vil was Jacob’s*. Ditto Sayid.

#4) Compare and contrast the treatment of unLocke’s candidate (Sawyer) who was given answers (at least some), told what to expect, and rescued from falling to his death vs Jacob’s candidates Hurley and Jack–Jacob is playing some nasty headgames with Hurley and Jack, in howevermany hundreds of years, he’s never once explained anything to Richard, he ignored Ben…Jacob is a dick

Also, is it just me or does the actor who plays Hurley not look good/healthy? I mean, yeah, he’s always been overweight, but in the last 2-3 eps, he’s looked terrible…not just fat but ill.

But what does it mean that Jack can’t remember having had an appendectomy? He’s a doctor, for heaven’s sake. The sideways timeline still seems, I don’t know, less real somehow. Don’t know what it’s supposed to represent.

Oh - and does sideways Jack not have tattoos?

ETA - Fenris, I’m digging your “Jacob is a dick” theory

Also, I noticed there were some hieroglyphs in the lighthouse up on the support beam while they were turning the mirror. Not sure if they mean anything.

The information not-Locke gives Sawyer though is thoroughly self-serving, i.e. intended to turn him against Jacob. "The island’s not special, Jacob is just messing with you, . . . " He’s basically feeding Sawyer your “Jacob is a Dick” theory.

So, just like everyone else on the island he seems to be just a manipulative jerk (this doesn’t exclude Jacob as also being a Dick).

Also, the mirror was supposed to be turned to 108[sup]o[/sup]=4+8+15+16+23+42

Also the number of minutes you needed to push The Button to stop the world from ending.

We don’t see unLocke playing these games.

Not necessarily–not-Locke never lied to Sawyer as far as we know. IF he’s telling the truth to Sawyer, it’s not self-serving and manipulative. Maybe the Island really isn’t special. We know for a fact Jacob gets his jollies with fucking with Hurley’s head (he didn’t seem real sympathetic to Hurley after Jack smashed the mirrors), we know he fucks with Ben and Richard’s heads…so…

Sure, Kate took Aaron away so he couldn’t be raised by the Others, but she also completely lied and passed him off as her own, not even bothering to find out if Claire had any relatives. She’s just a horrible, selfish, manipulative bitch, and I’m really hoping that Claire finds out about it and follows through on killing her.

I also dig your Jacob is Evil theory. However, I thought of more people (besides Kate who would suck in any universe) whose lives aren’t improved in the parallel universe: Sun and Jin. They seem pretty much screwed in the parallel uni unless there is some explanation for Jin smuggling money into the U.S.

As others have said, the name under 108 appears to be Wallace. It looks like Jack’s attention was elsewhere because he didn’t stop Hurley while the wheel spun past that number.

The screen shots of the wheel start when it’s at around 120 spinning downwards. When the arrow reaches 112 Jack looks up and sees a Japanese temple in the mirror and gets distracted. The name next to 112 looks like Horton and the line going through it doesn’t look so solid. After that Jack stops paying attention to where the wheel is, and starts looking at the names. Then you can see Austen at number 51. And then Jack eventually spins the wheel to his own name.

So now the questions are: (1) What names produce images in the mirror? (2) Does the name Horton at 112 have a line going through it? (3) And is Wallace at 108 anybody special?

According to Lostpedia, this episode is the 108th hour of Lost produced.

Depends on what good is. Smoke monster killed Ekko and a lot of other people, its debatable whether anyone deserves to die. Despite Ekkos past, I don’t think he deserves to die, and viciously and painfully at that. He did a number on the pilot and that french science team member too.I cant imagine how someone who is “good” could justify such brutal killings.
