Lost & found, the MMP

And the same back at you.

Up and been productive. The OW went to work so barring anything strange I’ll do the same this afternoon.

Hurrah for Butter’s Hubby! My friend had cardioversion a few years back and it has helped her enormously.

Guess what I found last night? My barn gloves. They were in the console of my car.

It’s raining and damp and I have another migraine. Drinking diet Dr. Pepper and taking sumatriptan. I love medication.

**Butters **- great news!! Now you’ve just got the ride home. But it’s a pretty ride, as long as the weather cooperates!

**FCD **called while I was in a meeting, but I called him back. He actually slept after I left. So huzzah!!!

**MetalMouse **- the reason they’re driving is my FIL has an appointment at Duke Medical Center. It’s a followup on an on-going series of procedures that the docs in Ocala can’t handle. They combine treks to Duke with visits to us. It would be better if my MIL could drive, but, as I’ve mentioned, she’s going blind. She does drive in her local area if it’s bright and sunny (the only way she can see) but I can’t imagine she can handle I-95. Here’s hoping they don’t encounter any stoopit or dangerous along the way.

Just looked at the long-range forecast. Right now, they’re saying rain on my party day. So I guess it doesn’t matter that I don’t have much outdoor furniture. I’ll just set up the smoker under a tent, and I won’t fire up the grill - I’ll use the broiler for burgers and dogs. Ah well… at least I don’t have to worry about the cat with people going in and out.

Almost lunch time. The phones and Outlook are out here. So is a database I need to use. Dunno what to do…

Great news Butters! And good luck on all fronts Mooom - I shall avoid I95 until further notice, though.

Hot and sunny in south Jawja. The plants are watered, the baby is having lunch, and she has agreed to wear clothes to the grocery store in a few minutes. So that’s kind of nice. Anybody need anything while I’m out?

The Boy has volunteered me to make cinnamon rolls and serve for his senior breakfast. At 8 am next Friday. I told him that he’d better make a vat of coffee if I have to face 300 teenagers at that hour.

Wow - I can’t even get to the company website to log my time. Phones still down, Outlook still down. But I’m leaving in half an hour, so no biggie, I guess.

And, of course, the boss is a lunch, so I can’t get something else to do. I may have to leave him a note so I’ll have something to do tomorrow.

I worked a grand total of about two hours today before going to the doctor. They couldn’t see me till 2, so I went to the doc-in-a-box instead. The good news is: I don’t have the flu. The bad news is: upper respiratory infection and they gave me a note saying I couldn’t work till Monday. I’ve only worked two hours this week and I’m off Monday. I’ll have a grand 10-hour paycheck next Friday. cries

Stoopit infection.

Mooom, your in-laws are why we need self-driving cars. Then we wouldn’t have to worry about our elderly parents driving all over creation.

A moronic robin is trying to get into the office window. He pecks for a bit, (the hell is that noise outside of the second floor?) flies to a tree, gets a flying start and flies into the window. Whack!

Moooom, good luck to your in-laws for their trip. The last few years that my mom was living, my parents had quit traveling. Dad said something at Christmas about maybe driving down (400 miles) to visit and I flat out told him to have Bubby or one of the cousins drive him. The last time they did come down, he like to scared me s*itless changing lanes.

butters, can you dance to your hubby’s new rhythm? :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay, OW!

After two meetings at the other end of the campus (roughly 3 city blocks) this morning, I’m absolutely ready for PT and moreso, the heat and electricity at the end of it this afternoon.

I have no idea why I am sitting on my ass looking at the computer. I have things to do.

My chair for the front porch was just delivered. Sah-son needs to bring it in and put it together for me. Now I have something to sit on besides the steps, which are ok once I’m sitting, but the getting down is hard because they are wide steps with short risers.

My flower seeds should be delivered today, so we can plant them either today or tomorrow.

I need some lunch and then back to doing something.

Damn bird is still out there.
Watching the window.

I don’t if it is safe to go out…

There used to be a bird that flew into the basement window of the House I Grew Up In. My mom cut out a picture of Morris from the 9 Lives bag and taped it to the window. Problem solved.

Blurf.

Girl child was up until 2 am working on a project. I did not help her with it, but my assistance was required from time to time in locating things she needed. (This is the other fall out from when MiL visits, she re-arranges everything.)

Other than that, different day same headache.

Butters Yay for hubby!

Flytrap I’d say open the window, but the silly thing would probably come in. Try some newspaper or something taped to the glass until it goes away.

78 degrees amurkin as the predicted high. Not supposed to rain, but I see rain on the radar and more off the coast. Silly weather - not following the rules.

I think I’m going to go Pit whomever it is who insists on making the GoT discussion thread about whether some actress showed her ta-tas or not.

The other day, I thought I’d check to see whether the birds nest in the old, unused electrical box was still active. Tried to sneak up on it (the opening is about at my eye level, but the nest is a few inches lower.) Just as I stood on tiptoe to peek over the lip, Mama Wren let me know that she wasright there! She flew up in my face. I fell. Nice set of bruises. (3 fledglings now. I told my brother that he can have the old box for his shop, but only after the babies have moved out.)

Speaking of brothers, mine just got engaged. I really like his fiance, too. I think they’re planning an October wedding - about 3 weeks before our niece’s nuptials. Should be fun.

And the trash is hauled off, the truck is gassed up, the fellows plan to be out for supper, and the girls want hot dogs and tater tots. I think my work day is mostly finished, except for 5 minutes of cooking, supervising bath time, and bringing in the dogs and feeding. Woot! I just got a 6-pack of hard ginger ale, so this might be a perfect afternoon to sample one. The weather station is still broken, and telling me it’s 103°F. I think it’s actually 93°, but that’s hot enough for mid-May.

Howdy Y’all! Thursday has been survived and tomorrow is irk from home day. YAY!!! We went to Sonny’s for dindin because they have all you can eat ribs right now and OYKW lurves to gnaw on some ribs. OK, so do I. ‘Twas good as usual. Plus no cookin’ and he paid so all win-win for me!

Wetone are these the barn gloves that have been missin’ for a while? Wouldn’t barn gloves, well, smell like barn? You didn’t notice a barn smell in your glove compartment? Ummmmm… maybe ‘tis time to give your vehicle a good cleanin’. :stuck_out_tongue:

Butters yay for hubs! Hopefully y’all are outta there and headed home by now.

Peaches tell me about it. May is supposed to be warm in south Jawja but it’s 91 Amurrkin here in southwest Jawja as I post.

On the plus side, the water in the cee-mint pond feels nice enough for swimmin’ even if it’s still a little bit on the cool side. Advantage of that shall be taken this weekend, provided I don’t end up goin’ to Ye Olde Home Towne which is still a possibility.

The hard ginger ale isn’t as good as I hoped. Too sweet, not enough ginger. I had some dried, candied ginger in the pantry - it improves the product.

And speaking of babies moving away, we are prepping for the Baby Boy to move into his own apartment in August. The Boy thinks I’m being ridiculous, as I put together his housewarming care package - everything from a flyswatter and a first aid kit to dish soap and canned tomatoes. And a little patio garden of fresh herbs. And stuff. He won’t

Oops. The baby helped with the last post.

… (He won’t) complain when he has most of the necessities and a few luxuries on hand on moving day. And I have already warned that I’m too old and decrepit to schlep furniture up the stairs. But at the end of the day, I’ll show up with a fridge full of groceries and pizza. I figure it’s a nice way to introduce myself to all of the roommates. And it fulfills my nefarious plan to be the cool mom, in case the guys need help with something. I live 5 minutes away, and I do remember that age. I don’t mind helping, and want them to understand that.

Peaches if I go back in time to when I was a young cub and moved into my first place, will you be my mom?

Peaches, so he’s moving in with friend(s)? A bunch of young men on their own (they think) in their own place. Could be…interesting.

Butters, good news on husband-unit, hope he and thee can head home tomorrow.

flytrap, in regards to the aggressive robin, I can only offer the advice of Click and Clack, the Tappit Brothers (Car Talk), which is (1) Wait until mating season is over or (2) Hit him with a brick. Your call.

Raining hard for the moment with accompanying Thunder and Lighting, but only a small band so should be through in a little while. Didn’t get my shots, turns out only one office (about 30 miles from here) does immunizations for foreign travel (before this I got them on orders via the military medical center), so I am awaiting an appointment. Financial expert says I am in good shape, but warned about that ol’ devil Inflation. Kinda misses that I’m not spending about 25% of my retirement pay, which I plan to put back for my dotage…

6PM so I need to think about dinner–treated myself to 5 Guys this afternoon, so not really hungry, so I’ll be creative.

Home, fed, chilling. The injection didn’t take long at all, but there was a gawd-awful backup on the way home, so we turned around and took the LOOOOOOOOOONG route home, going all the way south to Solomons, then back north to Chaptico to grab supper before going home. I’ve emptied the dishwasher and I need to run the vacuum cleaner and clean the toilets. **FCD **will dust tomorrow. His folks are in Fayetteville, NC, about 300 miles from here, so they’ll get here before I get off work.

I do not foresee a restful weekend… blech.

The juvenile in me says, also probably kind of sore. :stuck_out_tongue:
