Monstre Theory #1: After 1977, they got blasted back to the present day island. Eventually they are going to do the REAL reset, which will put them back on the plane (hence they are flash forwards).
Monstre Theory #2: After 1977, the reset worked. They ended up back on the plane in 2004. Eventually, the universe course-corrected their asses back to the island, hence the wake-up outside the Swan pit. Airplane/airport scenes are now flashbacks before the course-correction.
Monstre Theory #3: The Incident split things into different quantum realities. Eventually this will de-stabilize the universe. To fix this, they will have to find Schroedinger’s Cat and kill the damn thing once and for all.
hmmm. well, since Esau wants to go home and can’t for some reason, and Locke is able to go home but doesn’t want to, maybe Esau is trying to pull a switcheroo to get home (in some brain slaying fashion)?

I know! How do we know what the interpreter says is true? How can we be sure the Japanese guy isn’t letting the interpreter say anything he wants (since he understands English and all)?
To be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Lapidus say “We’re not going to Guam, are we?” again
Also! There was that one point where the interpreter didn’t translate something the japanese guy said.
I can give a somewhat decent translation for the Korean being spoken, but they have subtitles for it. Some times those subtitles are off though. We need a Japanese translator bad. Perhaps it’s time for me to scour the internets and find a good translation of the dialogue.
By the way, nice touch having Greg Grunberg doing the pilot’s voice.

Gotta be careful though; from what I’ve heard, there can be many English translations for one japanese sentence.
I thought it sounded like his voice. “Captain Norris, Chuck Norris”
i was surprised the pilot from the cockpit scene was the dude from Heroes too. Didn’t really notice that his voice was the pilot’s though.
