my work PC shows the SDMB back to how it was (more or less) before the v3 upgrade. my macs still on the slim, blue ‘out of the box’ version. i’m not complaining, i’m just wondering if the vBulletin v3 differs, and if the mac look will get upgraded soon.

Check to see that they are both set to the same style. Look near the bottom of any page – There is an input form to select the style. “Straight Dope” is the one you want. “Straight Dope Message Board vBulletin 3 Style” is the “out of the box” style.
