I’m not sure what time I can make it, so I sent my cell number to a couple of people. We’ll all get co-ordinated somehow! 
It looks like my daughter and I won’t be able to make it, at least not this weekend. 
My friend doesn’t really want to go (it’s an unhappy anniversary for her, unfortunately), and I’ve had a bit of a financial crisis–enough that I can’t justify spending $30 plus (the plus being the food/drink at the Faire). I’m still going to try to make it before the Faire ends for the season, but it’s not looking good. Bah. I’m sorry folks, because I was looking forward to meeting some of the MADs! Maybe next time around.

I wish I had paid a bit more attention to this thread. I went with some friends for the celtic weekend and was just a little disappointed. Other than lots of folks wandering around in kilts (and most of the performers too) there really wasn’t much to distinguish it from any other Faire weekend. As for tomorrow, I would really like to meet up with y’all, but I don’t think it’s going to be feasible. I’m probably going up to DC for the afternoon with some friends to experience Ethiopian cuisine. My soon-to-be-ex-roommate is part ethiopian and wants to share the wealth before he moves to Jacksonville, FL next week. As much as I would love to meet and hang out with all you cool dopers and sexy dopettes, I think I’ll have to wait until the Dope-a-ween comes around. Have fun without me!
No, Six Flags is not off. Edward The Head and I are are going no matter what. Whether anyone else comes or not is up to them. (I’ve been planning on going all summer, I ain’t giving up my last shot at it!)

Opal - why don’t you guys just reschedule RollerDopers[sup]TM[/sup] for another weekend, so some more of us can come, and then you can wear that gypsy dress to the Ren Faire tomorrow.
I’ve got a bunch of people’s cell phone numbers, and we’ve got a bunch of rendezvous places/times, so we should be all set for a great day!

for those worried about the money situation, this is almsot the end fo the faire, and a friend fo mine who goes every year says they drop the price of the beers drastically this weekend, as they need to get rid of it before the faire closes. nto srue if this is really true or not, but…I hope it is

Well the weather is not cooperating today so I guess I will not be going after all. Maybe tomorrow if it clears up and dries out.
It was rainy and cold early and late, but during the afternoon, it was really quite pleasant. Besides me, Who_me?, AnitaVacation, Scuba_Ben, Theios, Cleiko, TeleTronOne, nyctea scandiaca, av8rmike, Tranquilis and Intaglio were there (that we know of). We hung out together, broke off and went different ways, reconvened and split off in new combinations, wandering around the Ren Faire and seeing what there was to see. (Lotsa nice knockers on display. :)) The Witch Trial, late in the afternoon, was particularly fun.
So, were any of you others here, but unable to identify any of your fellow Dopers in the crowd?

I had a great time, and I’m sorry I missed the Witch Trial. Since they had a duck on the scales earlier, I’m sure they must have had a woman with a carrot nose tied to her face at the witch trial.
That would be me. I wandered by the White Hart 2 or 3 times between noon and 2:00-ish, but didn’t see any distinguishing characteristics among the people gathered there that made me confident enough to approach anyone and ask, “Are you Straight Dopers?” Maybe someone could put up a sign on a table next year?

Same here. We actually did end up going when it became obvious that the forcast for rain all day was wrong. We did wander through the White Hart a couple times, but I was unsure who was who. I decided (wussy that I am) not to risk a possible confrontation by asking drunken strangers if they were “Dopers”.
I was in black leathers, black soft hight boots, and a black duster. A friend of a friend of mine is with the pirates Royal, so at their 130 set, I had them announce my whereabouts in the white hart, but no one approached the idea of a sign next year is a good one. we spent almost the entire day at the tavern, so we’ll sit and watch a table next year. hope to meet you all before then, but till next time…
