It’s finally happened! After four LONG years, I finally talked lurkernomore into making a trip to see me in the Tampa Bay area! There are still a few plans to finalize, but it looks to be almost a go at the moment. One of the things that we are planning on while he’s here (ok, *I’M planning on… I get all the fun responsibilities!!! 
) is going to Ren Fest in Largo on March 10th. I was wondering if anyone wanted to join us, make a day of it… celebrate my 27th birthday a day early… As plans become more finalized, I’ll post updates, but I’d like to know if anyone would be interested so I can figure out what’s what and going on when and all those goodies!!!

Most definitely. Should be soon (RIGHT, lurker dear?!!! g) I’ve been like a kid in a candy store… and I love Ren, just haven’t had a chance to go the last couple of years for various reasons. This gives me a good excuse to go, celebrate my birthday, and make new friends! 
Yay! We should drag GolfWidow, Bear, Cyndar, Sanibel Man and anyone else we can find in the area along with us!
That’s certainly the plan! The more the merrier! It might not be as big as some of the other DopeFests, but I guarantee we’ll have just as much fun!!! Who else wants to come along???

Things are progressing nicely for lurker’s visit down here, which means for this little shindig getting off the ground. I’m hoping for confirmation any day now. (Man, this is going to be the best birthday EVER!!!)
You know, since this is around Spring Break time (Key West was a nightmare when I went for my birthday a few years back!), there’s always the possibility of any Spring Breaker Dopers being down this way too… So, if you’re going to be in the area, let me know, come out and have a good time, meet some of us and have lots of fun! TA is right… its something you never tire of!
Hey since I have a friend that wants me to come to Tampa and visit him. maybe we can come and meet with the dopers too. So, maybe we will see you all there.
Purplebear and her daughter might be with me. so everyone will get to meet her. too.

I’ll do my best to make it! It’s a stretch, but it’ll be an enjoyable one, especially if the weather is nice for a long ride up Friday!
Let me double-check the work schedule. There may be a darned good possibility I’m not scheduled to volunteer somewhere that day.
No, unfortunately I cant. I work from 6PM Friday evening to 8AM Saturday morning. After 14 hours at work, I would be in NO shape to go out for the day, PLUS I have to be back at work by 8PM Saturday evening.

TA, it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been, so I don’t completely remember the layout (heck, I’m going to be straining my brain to rememeber how to GET there!!! ) Since you’ve been there more often than I have, where do you suggest for meeting and the like? I’m thinking around 10 for a meeting time, or would people like earlier, later? Whatever, I’m easy… 
Being a Medeival reenactor, I also love to go to Ren Faires, but that is the weekend that my Lady and I travel to Gulf Wars http://www.gulfwars.org (a war between Trimaris/Florida and Ansteorra/Texas within the SCA). We should have quite a few thousand participants this year, and it will be a LOT of fun. Sorry about not being able to attend…

Much as my Kingdom could use my meager help, three people are leaving my office as of this week**, and I really doubt I will see much in the way of vacation more than a day or two at a time. “Never be indispensable; you can’t get promoted that way.”
