The plan is for the earlier birds 
amongst us to meet around the time the gates open. After that, (a) those of us who have cell phones can keep in loose touch by phone, and (b) our periodic rendezvous point will be the White Hart Tavern, on account of the beer and belly dancers. Times of those rendezvous TBA.

Time to bump this again, since it’s only three days away!
Those of us who get there before the gates open at 10:30 (I’m gonna try) can meet to the left of the main entrance (see link to map, below), away from the ticket booths, and go in together.
At what times should people rendezvous at the White Hart? Or are some (hi, Theios!) planning to hang out there pretty much all day? I’m thinking lunch there would be good, maybe gathering around 11:45 - I have a feeling if we wait until noon, seating might be hard to come by.
After that, maybe a coupla times during the afternoon, maybe 2:30 and 4:00? This doesn’t mean everybody has to rendezvous there then; just go there then if you’re in the mood to run into other Dopers by more than sheer random chance.

Ben, I haven’t seen or heard of any places to buy discount coupons; I was assuming I’d have to pay full fare. Anyone else know if they’re available anywhere?

Can I just register my annoyance that this isn’t happening on Sunday? Having to choose between this and Six Flags was not fair. Especially since I can’t wear this to Six Flags. (Well, I could but it wouldn’t be the same, and it would make the roller coasters a pain in the ass.)
Opal, feel free to register your annoyance about whatever you want. But just remember, we nailed down this date while (a) they hadn’t even decided on a weekend, and (b) it looked like they were going to do their thing on a Sunday.

Oh yeah, showing pix that show how absolutely hot you look these days is, IMHO, a fine way for you to show your annoyance about anything. Keep doing that, and I’m gonna look for new ways to annoy you. 
It’s not really hot. It’s mostly cotton and other lightweight fabrics.

Just a quick note to reconfirm for the 4th. The gf and I will be there. It sounds like The Green Feather will not be there (the bastard).
We normally get to the Fair before it opens, so we’ll try to find you guys at the gate. Otherwise, I swing by White Hart constantly for beer, or hang out there if there are dancers. We can play the cell phone exchange game via email if you guys want to. I don’t normally carry mine, but would make an exception in the name of Doper Fun.
Arrgh. Roomies are intent on going on Sunday now. So I may see you there, Opal. Hell. We may go BOTH days, just for sh!ts and giggles. 
If we do go on Saturday, I’ll be with the guy wearing the navy blue hoodie with what looks similar to the American flag (w/o stars) printed on the back in that glowy stuff that joggers wear. You can’t miss him. 6’3", brown hair, goatee, BIG guy. This is probably ditto if we go on Sunday.

Hello all! TeleTronOne and I will be there around noon-ish. I will be wearing a green middle-class Renaissance gown made by yours truly. We will swing by the White Hart often to see if we spot anyone. Good to know av8rmike will be there too. Oh and OpalCat, in case you haven’t heard, I think the Six Flags thing is off…I think avabeth cannot make it, and I talked TeleTronOne and av8rmike into going to the Renn Faire instead!
