Hmm…I’ll have to say formerly hot, but only because of the unflattering plastic surgery. Had she reconciled herself to the inevitability of wrinkles but kept up her workout routine as she has, she’d be on her way to Helen Mirren level GILFitude.
Nice body, but I’m a personality sort, so I’d look, but not bang.
I think that she’s well hot in real life but looks silly when she tries to act like a teenager in vids etc.
I’m a big fan of the more feminine curves and look that Madonna cultivated back in the 80’s and 90’s. I thought she was smoking. This 80’s style unitard or fahion sense that she has cultivated over the past 8 years whatever it is that she wears, I not only find unnatractive, it actively turns me off. Also, the extremely lean and ropy look that she’s cultivated in the past 10 years or so is not attractive to me, I think she could stand to gain 10 pounds in the right places. I also think the botox and plastic surgery make her look grossly disfigured and weird.
Of course, the thing is with Madonna, if you don’t like her fashion sense … wait five minutes.
God help me, but I do love that kind of talk.
I think her current appearance is a pretty good way to illustrate that 0% body fat is not a good look for people. From what I’ve read, she’s utterly obsessive regarding her workout routine and what foods she eats. Wasn’t she doing that raw food-only diet for a while, in fact? And she comes out looking like that.
The woman would look better if she ate a double cheeseburger once in a while. It’s weird; she’s not aging gracefully but it isn’t that she looks older than she should. She’s actively fighting her age tooth and nail and boy, does it show. For all her dieting and exercise, Madonna doesn’t look as good as Helen Mirren, thirteen years her senior.
On the binary scale, she gets a 1.
I think I remeber exactly the last video when I found her most physicallly attractive.
…Wearing the PVC bikini with the braidup in Human Nature. I’m not a big fan of the S&M theme but she looks beautiful in that leather/pvc bikini.
…and then again, I do think she looked pretty good in Ray of Light, as someone mentioned above. I think it was because she was more natural looking.
I think it was because she was braless in a wife beater.
A bit too spooky for me. In the movie Desperately Seeking Susan, I kept waiting for her to be hot, but even the crawling across the bed scene, with her butt hanging out, I thought her unremarkable.
The one photo linked to earlier, was totally lighting and makeup and hot clothing. With the same effects, I could look hotter than her, and I’m a fifty plus man, hairy back and only ten pounds overweight.
Give her the hook.
greatshakes
Crap. *Now *what am I going to get you for Christmas?
Yep.
:eek::eek::eek::eek:
I’m a woman but never found her to be anything more than marginally attractive. But as others have said, her personality makes her unattractive, from that affected British accent to Kaballah to adopting a black child a la Angelina Jolie…everything she does seems calculated and humorless.
The thing about age is that we’re supposed to stop obsessing in the mirror and start growing in maturity and wisdom. Her recent behavior with ARod is just embarrassing on so many levels.
Personally, I think that in addition to a bowl of ice cream, she needs a few shots of tequila.
Oh, and it’s been reported that her husband’s not a fan of her body either.
Not.
In every interview I’ve ever seen, and every media piece I’ve ever read about Madonna, I’ve never heard her utter a single word of kindness, make a genuinely funny comment, express any appreciation or admiration for someone else (including the people who help her career), show any love of life, or focus on anyone or anything except herself. Therefore, not hot at all. Just cold, colder than Pluto.
I have friends who have worked with her, who say she is very disciplined, focused and hard-working, but also a major pain in the neck; a case of ‘it’s all about me, all the time’ elevated from a comedy bumper sticker to a personal religion.
You want this to be all about looks? I say it never is. There are women who don’t go to the gym every day, aren’t size 0, and don’t have millions of dollars. But they are hotter than July and a lot more fun to be with, as well as more caring, more loving, and more exciting.
I had never made the connection, but you’ve hit the nail on the head: that’s a big part of my problem with her, too.
I’m an enormous Madonna fan and I believe that she is one of the least understood people on the planet, mostly because people who spout off about her don’t listen to her music. One need only listen to her music to see how conscientious she is and how much she cares about others.
She has always been a little histrionic, sure, but that doesn’t really matter because it’s true of a lot of celebrities. She had a hard time dealing with the death of her mother and the abuse of her father. Mix that in with some good old-fashioned Catholic guilt and her early experiences in the Detroit and New York City club scene, and she becomes perfectly understandable in context.
There were times in Madonna’s life where she vacillated between abusive, obsessive romantic relationships and self-serving, exhibitionist behavior. She has confronted the reality of her selfish tendencies many times, and she reports in her music often about the conflict she feels between experiencing actual love and the adulation of her fans. Her music pre-childbirth was mostly about romantic relationships, particularly her insecurity and sense of helplessness when she is abandoned by the object of her affection. She really comes off as a very emotionally damaged, vulnerable person in a lot of her early works.
However, having children changed her a lot. Since she was raised without a mother, her children gave her the opportunity to give a gift she’d always wanted. It was her first real experience stepping outside of herself. Her album * Ray of Light* is devoted almost exclusively to the new meaning that having children brought into her life. This is also where you see the influence of Kabbalah. Kabbalah may be silly, but it brought her a level of peace she had never experienced before because for once she was thinking about others and not herself. She has since found her basic fulfillment in this spiritual quest to learn how to be a more loving and giving person. This is what motivated her decision to adopt and it also motivated her decision to make a documentary on poverty in Malawi.
So it is my assessment that anyone who honestly believes Madonna does this stuff out of a desperation to be popular really hasn’t been paying attention. Madonna does this stuff because she has finally found something that makes her feel at peace.
She is in good shape and relatively attractive. She carries “absolute bitch” baggage that means dealing with her would be more trouble than it is worth.
I don’t think she’s hot, sorry. Frog legs come to mind when I think of her lower body and she has heroin addict arms. She has a certain William Defoe-mixed-with-cat scariness to her face as well.
Back in the day, I could see her appeal. But she needs more body fat now.
Not a big fan of her face or personality, but she does have a kickass body. I was actually going to say no until I saw that video. If she wore that I’d fuck her until it fell off.
