MADs: Fall Folliage Fest in the mountains of Western Maryland!

Anita, the behavior of my oldest notwithstanding, I had a lot of fun, too! I had a talk with my daughter this morning, and she apologized for her behavior. Of course, it’s easy to say you’re sorry after the fact; the real question is, will she behave any better next time?

Two Trouts, I was so glad you could make it out! Hopefully, you’ll become a regular at the MAD gatherings!

Thanks for coming, you guys! We’ll see you next time.

Aww, come on she didn’t disrupt the party at all; she might have been a distraction to you and Ra but she didn’t bother us any. Right, guys?

Right.

Norine, you know how these things work: stuff that goes wrong doesn’t bother the guests at all, bothers the hell out of the host. This was one of those type things.

I had a great time - thanks for hosting!

Many thanks for hosting, Norine & Ra. It’s always a treat to hang out with similarly bent minds and debate weighty issues such as alternate tunes for Amazing Grace.

Good to meet you, Two Trouts!

Regarding your other concern Norine, there’s always duct tape!

duct tape is starting to sound more and more like a viable parenting tool at this point!

All,
I had a great time and it was a joy to meet some fellow Dopers finally! I managed to screw up some photos, but there are a few that I will get out, probably tomorrow. Thanks for the welcoming atmosphere, good food and great laughs!!!

Can’t wait for the next one!

Glad you enjoyed yourself! Anita emailed me the photos that she took, and she had some good ones, too. When I add the ones you took and get Ra to put them on his server, I can link to them so everyone can see them.

I don’t know that there’s any specific planning in the works, but nyctea said something about a November/December get-together. Last year, WeirdDave and GingerOfTheNorth hosted Dope the Halls (I was unable to attend, but from the photos it looks like it was a lot of fun). I doubt that they’ll host this year, though, as their baby is due in just a few weeks, and they’ll be busy adjusting to the birth. However, I’m sure someone will step up to the plate. I wouldn’t volunteer, though, because that time of year the weather is just too iffy to be expecting folks to drive all the way up into the mountains. However, if someone else hosts, I’ll try my best to attend!

I’m really sorry I missed it Norine! I do think we should do something in Novemeber or December. I would be more than happy to offer my place, although it is a little small, but I can adjust some furniture and we can all pack in there (now that The Hostess With The Mostess (Anita) has moved!) Maybe we could do something the Saturday after Thanksgiving? Or something around X-mas time. Let’s definitely talk about it in a few weeks!
