Durn, I log off for two hours, and all of a sudden we’re on page 3!
Welcome, AnnaLucretia! I know I’ve said hi to you on some other thread. I’m going to bring my digital camera, but I’ll be gentle.
I think this is a good excuse to bring all the vital info forward.
****Where:**Bobwhite Shelter, Seneca Creek State Park in Montgomery County, MD.
When: Sunday, May 25, 11am - dusk.
What: A picnic pavilion, food, a lake, a playground for the kids, woods, hiking trails, Extreme Croquet, and (of course!) Dopers.
Why: because it’ll be fun.
Directions: From Washington, D.C, Virginia and points south: take I-270 north toward Frederick, Maryland. Take exit 10, Clopper Road, and continue through six traffic lights. The park’s entrance is marked and will be on the left.
From Frederick, Pennsylvania And Points North: take I-270 south towards D.C. Take exit 11, Quince Orchard Rd., west. Bear right at the light, go two more lights, then turn right onto Clopper Road. The park is ~1.5 Miles on the left.
My plan is to get there about 11am, start setting up, and get the charcoal started. It’ll probably take the charcoal until noon to be ready to grill over. Once the coals are ready, I’ll start cooking burgers as soon as we seem to have a critical mass of Dopers.
