I really do need a head count of the vegetarians, whether you’re a definite, a maybe, or whatever. But I’m going shopping in the morning, and I’d like some way to guesstimate how many Boca Burgers to pick up.
Aw, crap, now I have to read the thread to see what all the fuss is about. I wouldn’t have even found it if I hadn’t done a vanity search (I know, shame, shame, shame)… Hmm!
Possible slight change for me. That’s the day of the Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally in DC. Spouse and offspring are both going to ride. Which means I won’t have anything to do while they’re riding. Which means I may show up. If the weather’s crappy, they won’t ride, but maybe I can persuade them to come along.
So put me down as a possible, and if I can make it, I’ll bring along something pseudo-healthy - maybe fruit or something. And I’m a carnivore.
Tell you what. If I do make it, I’ll bring 2-liter bottles of soda and other noshables I can grab. I’m not a vegetarian, so no need to fret there.
I’ll be bringing myself and one mini-vegetarian. Mr. OpalCat is pooping out on yet another social engagement, the antisocial loser.
I’ll bring food of some sort, still deciding on what.
Opal - a mini-vegetarian, huh? Since you’re a vegetarian, does that make him your Mini-Me? (Hey, you both grope boobs on occasion. ;)) Tell UDD I said he’s a poopydoopyhead.

Talked to the spousal unit this morning. It’ll be a beautiful day for a motorcycle ride and he’s all excited about that. I told him I’d be attending the picnic - I think he’s relieved I didn’t ask him to come along. (He’s still a little uncomfortable around the MADs) So I’ll be gathering something fruit-like to contribute to the festivities and I’ll see y’all there!.
Anna - don’t be nervous! I’ve encountered several of those who will be in attendance and I’ve survived. No problems at all! No issues! No scars! No embarrassing mysterious tattoos the next day! Really - would I lie? Would this face lie??

My first dopefest was my sister, Geobabe’s birthday party. I was nervous, but I had to go since it was her birthday. I thought she was weird (or weirder than usual) for inviting a bunch of nuts from a message board. To my surprise, I liked them instantly, and found that I had a lot in common with them. Since then, my sister has married a doper, UncleBill, and I now consider the MADs among my best friends.
Don’t be nervous; you’re already friends with us - you just don’t know what we look like.

OK, I just checked out mapquest - it looks like you get to the park from Exit 10 off I-270 - is that correct? I’ll be the one arriving in the neon green Beetle, for those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of my company yet. I hope someone brings a camera. I won’t because I’m a lousy photographer.
