On Day One, there were four candidates who all had a good chance of being lynched before I backed the Dizzy horse.

Texcat – votes for her didn’t seem well-reasoned, but she is the most likely scum from a “scum deflection” standpoint (not convinced yet)
Pizza – Pizzaish
Astral – looks more townie now; vote from Chronos looks good for him; still mild eyebrow

Texcat - defended my just awhile ago when realizing my mispost made sense. Therefore, I suspect texcat for being helpful to me.

Pizza - So desperately trying to find scum. So I suspect him, and it would be a great get if we kill him and he’s scum.

Astral - No idea

Pleo - Pleo is fun to lynch. Remind me, did Pleo make a partical claim on Day One in this game?

Scathath, Lightfoot, and Darth sensitive: No idea.

Gotta say, Pizza, I am not seeing it. You are super-tunnelling on Inner and there is just not that much there.

I personally have no read on Inner right now. Would love to hear more of his thoughts. Why did you think Lightfoot would be cleared by Chronos’ death?

Also, sinjin’s “quick” acceptance of me was not so quick, she had believed me on Day One. That doesn’t seem suspicious to me.

I do agree that gnarly’s reaction to me has been wonky all-the-live-long. I gather that he always gets squirrelly when voted.

I understand everyone wanted me to spill the deets after I voted Chronos right away. I should have waited a bit. I kind of think that townies might have weighed the possibility that I, as Holmes, had a good reason for waiting… and it seems some did. Others became agitated.

I also think scums wanted me to spill so they could have a clearer idea of what my powers were.

I can’t be the only one who thinks these are the laziest votes in lazingtown, can I? His whole case, near as I can tell based only on his exact words, are that he and I disagree about whether or not a scummer might have gotten a matching clue with a townie. I still think it’s more likely now that we know multiple sets of players have matching clues… so what’s the deal?

Have you ever explained the point of this whole exercise?

Here and there. The basic premise of it is: I will never do it if/when I’m scum. So if I’m doing it, you can be sure that I’ll eventually flip Town or neutral Third Party (which I’ve also been before when doing this)

Of course, since there are times that I’m Town and I don’t do it…so not doing it doesn’t automatically mean I’m scum.
I have been VOTED ON on Day One for not claiming on Day One, before…for that reason alone (by three different people).

Secondly, with those two being among the top vote getters yesterDay, it stands to reason that the reason Dizzy got more votes is that scum possibly tried to save their own.

Another thing is this: Pleonast’s fast moving train of votes that he received seemed (to me, anyway) to build up really fast in a very short amount of time. It stinks of “hurry, let’s get this guy lynched before one of us scum is lynched”…but then, when it started slacking off there in the end, the switch was made to Dizzy, who I also thought the votes came fast near the end.

So it’s for these reasons that I find AR and Texcat more suspicious than the rest, right now. Texcat I already had previous suspicions on. AR I do mostly because he was one of them not lynched in lieu of sending a Towns person to their grave, but also because I had very minor suspicious of him yesterDay (small enough not to bother saying anything, but that has now grown due to him having been sparred by the fast moving Pleo and Dizzy trains).

We can do that. I still think there’s a good chance she could have. You don’t really have a near 4-way tie (you, AR, Pleo, Dizzy) for a lynch and having the one who hangs come out Town without having one of the others be possible scum. I think it’s very likely there is scum somewhere in there, at least one…but I’ll focus on one vote at a time for now.

I’m sad you unvoted this vote, I thought it was a good question. Idle’s first, and last, vote of Day 1 was for Septimus, for OMGUS reasons and because Idle thought Septimus’ vote was weak on top of that. I find it hard to believe nothing else of interest happened enough to warrant a vote from Idle. I’m not as dissuaded as you are, but maybe that’s because I’m his target.

I just didn’t find Dizzy scummy, if that’s what you’re talking about…hence why I didn’t have a vote on her at the end.
And if you mean why I didn’t have votes on any of the front runners at the end, I wasn’t as suspicious of anyone until toDay (after they were saved from lynching, seemingly), although I was a little more suspicious of Texcat yesterday than the rest, I thought Septimus’ reasonings were more shady than the slip Texcat had apparently made.

Because the Day 1 lynch was a bit of a cluster, he’s decided scum MUST have manipulated the lynch, and that one of (or maybe both) TexCat and I must be scum. There’s an obvious hole in his reasoning that maybe it was a mess because Day 1 is usually a mess, and he hasn’t exactly gone out of his way to point to other potential signs of scumminess. There’s no effort here to ever truly reevaluate me in light of whatever might have happened during the day, or actually establish a case beyond “well it must be so.”

You were pretty intent on asserting I was unconfirmed, which was not all that reasonable a position to take at the time you were doing so. It was, and is, suspicious to me. I think your “Record” as such is indeed votable on day three, or I wouldn’t be voting you. The “scum were trying to save Texcat” doesn’t strike me as particularly great right now, but I could still be convinced. Otherwise, what else is “votable” that’s going on right now?

I don’t disagree that I’ve been lucky, but I’m not sure how you are particularly in a position to know that. I’ve made mistakes, and I’ve acknowledged them. I don’t think my reasoning skills are better than anyone else, but I’ve not seen any particularly cogent reasoning from anyone else either.

Other people, when they start talking more, start seeming less scummy. You seem more scummy the more you are talking. And very defensive, given how little traction the votes on you are getting.

I don’t think anyone could look at my play, and the circumstances surrounding it, and think that it’s worthwhile to be suspicious of me though. And even unconfirmed, there’s no reason to be eager for me to make my power(s) clear. If a claimed Holmes votes for someone and doesn’t say why, doesn’t it make sense to give them the benefit of the doubt for a little while? That’s all I hoped for. Maybe I shouldn’t have.

My confirmation of Klutz, similarly, I’m not sure why it was so important to know exactly why I knew it at that moment. I decided not to fight it, but I kind of regret it now still.

It’s hardly an open and shut case on gnarly, I freely admit. I am more than happy to find or listen to a better case, if one’s out there.

I’m talking too much about myself. I don’t like to monopolize the conversation if I can help it. I’d love to find cases in talking about someone else, but the one other case right now seems to be Texcat. Right now, gnarly is scummier to me than Texcat.

Again, there’s a good chance scum was saved from lynch due to Dizzy (and Pleo) getting high numbers of votes in a short order. Since you and Tex were the only other leaders then, it looks good to me.

For the sake of this subsequent explanation, put aside for a moment your suspicions of me and get yourself in the mindset of “Astral is 100% grade-A town.” Also, pretend you’re me. Maybe shoulda mentioned that part first.

From my townie perspective, look at your vote on me. It doesn’t look like you have any suspicions of me specifically besides your supposition that scum must have been trying to save someone. You don’t ever lay out what makes me the best choice, or present additional evidence for my scummitude; you’ve just decided I’m the scum and that’s it. You haven’t laid the groundwork for your decision that I’m scum, from my perspective.

Absolutely vote for whoever most pings you. If that’s me, fine. But when I criticize your choice of vote, it’s crazy to suggest that my argument boils down to "don’t vote for players you find suspicious "

Just wanted to confirm that I’ve seen this - I’ll spend more time looking at those four later, but I’m bearish on pizza and Astral now, I don’t think they’re likely to be scum with Chronos given the vote record and the back-and-forth between them. I was quite ready to vote for Idle when he made that ridiculous post about Mahaloth, I knew exactly where **Maha **was coming from, it looked as if Idle had just read Maha’s posts without the surrounding context. It looked like scum trying to make a case out of fresh air but I see Idle has changed his mind and admitted he was wrong. I had such a feeling about Idle being Town but now the doubts have crept in.

I also have doubts about Texcat ** being Town, I voted for her on D1 and then changed my mind after Dizzy** thought I had a good catch, I was so convinced that** Dizzy** was scum, apparently forgetting her own clue but maybe I did have a good catch?

You are right but I don’t see scum motivation behind it. Scum are not stupid, they have a team behind them reading everything before they post. In this game I always look for scum motivation as opposed to scum wouldn’t do that, it has served me well. Scum do what will best serve them and being a bit odd at times might serve their cause well, mostly not. Why bring a light onto a post? No no no, they want to hide in the shadows and watch Town fail. Diggitt is defo on my Town team at the moment. Texcat, on the other hand, is sneaky and underhand as scum, she has no problem getting rid of her scum mates (sorry Texcat, nowt personal).

Idle: any reason you have for dismissing Pleo as scum?

I answered this on the day I voted for Tex and AR and NOT Pleo, but here it is again:
Because the Pleo train of votes that he got on that day seemed to form just as fast and awkward as the earlier Dizzy one did. It really looked (to me, anyway) like one side was scrambling to get him voted ASAP in order to save someone else.

The votes on AR and Tex, on the other hand, built up slowly, over time. It was only after those two were in danger of being lynched did Pleonast suddenly get a huge amount of votes in a very, very small amount of time.

But you are totally ignoring the reasoning for the votes. The votes on Pleo were for non-participation, so of course they would come late in the day:

And I thought at first that Pleonast hadn’t checked in at all, which is a problem for the mod, not for us. But he did actually check in, so he knows the game has started, but hasn’t posted since then. Now, Pleonast is another player (like Idle who tends to claim immediately, which (as mentioned) is problematic for a Scum. Maybe he decided that the way to avoid claiming was just to not post?

I didn’t realize he was even in the game until it was mentioned by Chronos- and as I have always found his habit of claiming early ( no matter the role) very annoying- the absence of that action screams suspect to me.

And if you think that scum was voting for Pleo to save me or Astral, why aren’t you going after the Pleo voters?
