Uh… 1. Sounds like an easy reason to vote for someone “I want to save scum, so I’ll vote for this person and just say it’s because of non-participation”.
POINT IN FACT, ONE OF THEM WAS CHRONOS USING THAT REASON.
So it looks like my reasoning behind voting people who did that and for point number 1 (above) is correct.
Seriously… Chronos being one of the ones on that fast moving train, using the “Oh, I’m just innocently voting for them because they’re inactive!” reason…makes it look ALL THE MORE like Pleo is Town and those that he (Chronos) helped save from lynch are scum
You don’t find it more likely a scum godfather would want to avoid attention by being one of the voters responsible for lynching town?
At the risk of a “scum wouldn’t do that!” rebuttal, Godfathers work best when they do everything in their power to avoid coming under scrutiny. If he had flipped any other type of scum, I’d be a little more sympathetic to your ideas.
Besides, as I’ve pointed out before, this is all post-hoc reasoning from you, and you’re not doing the necessary scum-hunting to truly decide why we’re scum beyond this single event.
I didn’t get the votes on **TexCat **on day one at all. As I said at the time, they were pretty crappy votes that weren’t worth following along with. But it was the leading lynch at the time the out of nowhere bandwagon on **pleo **hit very hard and fast, as lead by the godfather.
Pizza makes very little sense. He follows your lead on D1, then is late to the chronos train which is also following you, but is now blasting those who voted chronos soon after your vote - even though he spent the start of today patting himself on the back for ‘knowing’ that chronos was scum all along, even though he was unwilling to actually, you know, vote for him until there was concern about him being a politician that could swing the lynch. Additionally, see what I’ve said about him on the pleo thought.
I’m not giving any extra credence to astral right now with an early vote from the godfather, but it certainly doesn’t hurt him. But he hasn’t done anything to change my perception of him from slightly selfish VT I said day 1 (though I do agree with whoever it was that said it’s not all bad, what with knowing you’re town and not knowing the other guy is town - I do it too).
I still look askance at pleonast for repeating a clue. However, the fact that he got hit with three LtL votes that put him in danger of dying, the first of which came from scum (an incredibly easy to defend vote that wouldn’t get him in hot water later) makes him look much better. I would guess there’s another scum in those who voted him (lightfoot, mahaloth, myself, pizza [who encouraged further bandwagoning before unvoting when it became clear that you were in favor of killing dizzy], astral).
I know that I’ve made “anyone but me” votes in the past because I know I’m town and I don’t know about that guy.
I don’t like it in the abstract, because it opens up the chance of lynching someone more valuable than me - but it feels right every time it isn’t actually abstract.
So sorry everyone! I was on a business trip which I anticipated as being much less time consuming than it turned out to be.
I’m just back home now and about to crash and sleep for about 10 hours. If someone could hit me up with a link to the day/night posts I’ve missed I’ll start catching up again tomorrow.
Again sorry - non participants are the worst for the game, I know, it wasn’t intentional.
Sorry for my limited participation the past couple of days. We have been training for and starting our volunteer job in socal. First work day today, w00t! Now off til Wed.
I am trying to put Astral’s vote record in a more workable form.
@Pizza: are you just pulling my chain? Voting me for believing Dahpne’s reveal yesterday? Really? You are still OMGUS’ing from yesterDay? That’s the best you can do? You are not helping town by this ridiculous logic.
I think those are bad votes, made for lazy reasons, and I’d like for somebody to at least say “No Astral, you’re just wrong” if you disagree. It makes me sad that no one saw fit to comment on my words.
Just for fun, I’m going to go full-bore defense on TexCat, because the votes she’s getting are awful, and because the votes she’s getting are in spirit the same votes I’m getting. TexCat, you better not be scum, or this will not look good for me.
Are you voting based on the “scum must have been trying to save TexCat or AR” rationale? If TexCat flips town, will you be considering voting for me next?
Just to be totally clear, are you voting based on the “scum must have been trying to save TexCat or AR” rationale? If TexCat flips town, will you be convinced I must be scum?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record (hah! too late!), are you voting based on the “scum must have been trying to save TexCat or AR” rationale? If TexCat flips town, will you switch your focus to me, even though in this post I’m quoting you say I seem like vanilla town? You also seem hesitant to fully support your own case; how strongly do you feel about TexCat’s lynch?
This doesn’t seem like the strongest suspicion. Are you comfortable with lynching TexCat over this?

I can’t be the only one who sees that TexCat’s lynch is a weak, weak lynch, and most of voters don’t seem too terribly committed to their votes.
What’s a scum’s wet dream? To be considered town. What’s a great way to make town think you’re on their side? Deliver them a powerful scum all dressed for the lynch. The hit to the scum team is worth it if you can get a scum into the end game reeking of townie.
I don’t think Daphne is scum. But I don’t trust anything but the flip and I get cranky when unconfirmeds try to make the rest of us treat them like unconfirmeds.
No, this makes zero sense. DaphneBlack has claimed Sherlock Holmes. There is exactly one town-aligned character who is mod-confirmed to be town-aligned, and that is Sherlock Holmes. Explain to me why you think scum would have a player who is DESTINED TO BE COUNTER-CLAIMED expose their godfather?
I don’t know. I was not gifted with knowledge of the setup. Have you missed the 4 or 5 times where I said I don’t think DB is lying? That still doesn’t make her confirmed.
Astral, I agree with you that these votes for Texcat are unconvincing. I also don’t love the votes on you. I am going to go back and look at this “in real time” and see if anything pops out at me.
