I self-protected until the initial Storyteller claim. I protected him for two days, and then self-protected until last night, when I grabbed MHaye.

That seems like a lot of protection to spend on an already-spent Magician. Case in point, you allegedly protected him for only two Nights and yet he’s still alive.

Exactly - after he redirected, storyteller became essentially vanilla Town. And yet you decided to protect him and yourself over essentially confirmed investigation roles? We might still have a Detective! I don’t even know why we still have Koldanar, but you thought you were more important to protect than him?

You know I kind of appreciate the sentiment that there could be two Vicars but I think that dog won’t hunt if PO shows up town. It would be my luck get a dual town role since I know that I am a Vicar. But I’ve also got be realistic.

Happy note, since no kills last night I do think that is a better than even chance that ol’ PO was a vamp.

And since we had no kills the wait won’t be nearly as long.

And if he was, you’ve got some serious explaining to do.

But other than cabal, what faction/role has a blocking power?

A mass-block possibility was being discussed as perhaps being a secret power, but according to Omi, his alleged town secret power was not a mass-block.

If the town secret power is other than Omi says, it may or may not have already been used. Pleo giving a scum faction a mass-block is a possibility, I suppose.

But, again, until Koldanar shows up, I don’t see much value drawing conclusions.

Sorry this took so long, traveling weekend. I won’t be able to post much again till Sunday night. I investigated peeker; it failed. Sounds like a mass block then, since no kill actions went through, ala story’s guess.

I’ve had a long week at work and am getting to go on vacation and am as dull as can be, apparently. So you are Scotsman by name but a Doc by trade? And your post that you reference says Doc but you claim Scot. But Scot has secret power that makes him Doc. From here on out you will be known as Sybil.

I gotta say that if town’s double super secret power role was to have a “scotsman” whose power is to merely move the protection to someone else that it is kind of odd.

And I just gotta add. Protecting someone randomly does not seem to be ideal strategy.

Cookie. I was referencing the fact that if Kold didn’t get a read then he would have to be blocked so how in the world could you be blocked as well.

Apparently we have now ascribed a mass block to a scum faction special power and that explains why your kill did not go through and Kold got a no read on me.

So cabal gets a kill and the wolfies get a mass block which they employ instead of a kill.

Town gets Sybil. Shit I hope one of us has some Haldol at the hip.

I tend to agree with most of the comments here. I’d protected Storyteller because he was essentially confirmed town: at the time, he was one of the only townies who I was really, really sure was town. I protected him for two days figuring that if anyone had tried to whack him. they might try to target him again after the initial block.

For the next few days, though, I mainly protected myself because I was worried about being deceived: I was worried that accidentally protecting scum and shielding them from a nightdeath would do more damage to the town than failing to protect any single role would.

I’m obviously not very good at this, though… am I right in assuming that Koldanar is most people’s recommendation for tonight’s protection?

Effin heck. If you are what you say you are then listening to the inmates of this assylym would be horrible.

If you have a protective power do what you will. But, FCS, it is not a referendum.

And that was not meant to be telling a power role what to do but rather don’t listen to the voices in your head that can be so mis guiding. Especially with the group that we have left.

And why did you say earlier that talking about the power would make it harder to use?

Honestly, I can’t think of any good reason why you wouldn’t have protected him last night. I have to assume that you’re telling the truth about your power and actions, because I just have to think that Scum would come up with a better story.

That’s true - I would expect scum to say that the reason Koldanar is still around is that they’ve been protecting him, don’t you see.

On the other hand, the idea of protecting one’s self although one has no particularly awesome power, and a vanilla townie, and somebody at random who is also essentially a vanilla townie? Boggles one’s mind.

A nightly protection is pretty awesome power.

Ah, but hound dog friend, he could just be stumbling. In my first game I was so freaking green that shadow had to lollipop me a couple of times to save my butt. Without some help I would have been screwed.

Yeah, but it’s essentially just being a Doc instead of a Scotsman. I don’t know, I’m not the mod, it just doesn’t sound to me like it would be the town secret power, like it doesn’t fit. I don’t know what any of the other powers for the other factions are, of course, but in the previous game (I know, I know) they weren’t really like this. Don’t you think it’s possible the town secret power died with an earlier player? Remember, there was that weird night with not “enough” kills.
