Normally I try to ignore the ones with no case but this is pretty good. Let me get this straight I’m the omega wolf but I’m taking on most of the town with an unpopular strategy and I’m hoping that the witches are going to investigate me before I get strung up. Well, at least you think I have balls.
NETA: I guess the seer could investigate me as well which would make the plan less dumb.
Actually, I suspect he might have a LOT to say. And you’d believe him?! Let’s say he agrees with you and comes back and says “Good plan. I am a Wolf and our side has a secret investigation power. We used it on ShadowFacts and he’s Undead.” Would you string me up based on that? Have me investigated? Blocked? What? Or how about “I’m the Vampire, and the Undead have the power to know how many Wolves there are at any one point in the game. We used it last night and there are 7.” What would you do with that info?
What good do you think could possibly come from this idea? It’s a recipe for sowing massive WIFOM confusion.
Well.
Pede’s claimed Vig. I was actually going to suggest that we figure out some way to confirm him one way or the other without lynching him (by way of the protective powers leaving him alone until NBC’s alignment is revealed), but then I realized that 1) the Cabal could always block his suicide attempt (because if he doesn’t commit suicide, we’d all but be guaranteed to lynch him), 2) he would remain the designated killer for his side, and if he’s the Vampire, that would mean an extra Night kill (which, IIRC from the last game’s setup, is still more likely to hit Town in the early game), and 3) NBC could turn up scum anyway and that would tell us squat about Pede’s alignment.
His subsequent reaction has been…odd, to say the least. You would think that if he were the Vig he’d be trying a little harder to not be lynched (although, I suppose, given our paranoid nature we’d cite that as being overdefensiveness and lynch him anyway). Still, it does read like he was caught off guard and made up his claim on the fly, so I’ll vote pedescribe.
(And yes, there is a minor possibility that story is the Omega Wolf who is throwing fellow Wolf pede under the bus. But keep in mind that a truth-telling story would also 1) investigate as Town by the Witches and 2) not respond to the Freemason’s secret handshake. So I’m willing to put story into the “Town” column for at least the next few Days.)
Oredigger’s behavior is, IMHO, something of a null tell. He’s behaving pretty much the same way he did in Simpletown, and he was Town then. It’s definitely very newbie (because, as has been pointed out, most of us wouldn’t say what he said, nor in such an eyebrow-raising manner), but it only warrants a minor hairy eyeball at this point.
I tend to agree with this, and have basically been ignoring everything pedescribe has said Today.
Except for that whole part about Santo Rugger. That dude gives me the willies.
Alright, I was going to wait until the end of the day, but I might as well…
I am a cabalist. But I’m not just any cabalist, I’m the Shadowy Leader! Congrats, town. Although…my 4 brothers and sisters will avenge me!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry, I felt like being melodramatic.
Anyway, the shadowy leader:
And in case you don’t believe me, this was my avatar for the cabal board.
I decided to just kill the most threatening player to me as soon as I could. So thanks to ya’ll, we’ve got another nightkill. Congrats, town.
You know, it’s funny, the one part of my claim that was absolutly true was the quote from pleonast. Straight out of the cabalist board. And yet, everyone doubted it.
Last night, we blocked CatInASuit, since
sounded a lot like a goad to get the wolves attacking him. We think he’s a vampire.
Also, Darth wanted to tell ya’ll night 1 how proud he was of hiding under the bus despite our goads, but he couldn’t, because he was dead. So I’m relaying his message.
Any more questions?
:snerk: The Detective has a DAY power. The Cabal blocks NIGHT actions.
Not that I believe you of course, but a quick read of the rules will help you in the future with your false claims.
By that I mean that I don’t think you thought he is a vampire.
Good lord, can I complete a thought before I hit submit? I don’t believe anything in your claim. You are just taunting. But go ahead, it’s very entertaining.
::eyeroll::
If we thought Cat was a detective, we’d have ignored him. A detective is good for us, since he sics the town on the wolves. A vampire is good to nobody but himself (okay, he does help the Nec, if he doesn’t kill the Nec). And we didn’t have leads on anyone else (We can’t block nanook, and brewha didn’t have powers to block). Also, note that, from what I’ve figured (which may be completly incorrect, but so far it’s consistant) there should have been four kills last night. If CatVamp was blocked, that would explain why there were three kills last night.
If there is a pro town vig that is not our pedescribe should they claim? If so, wouldn’t it make sense to let the vig take out pedescribe tonight and have the rest of the town take out someone else toDay?
Channelling BLAM.
Sorry, story starting to get a Dio feel.
I am keeping my vote where it is but am starting to get a bit uneasy. This seems too easy.
If we had a vig alrady out, I would agree with this plan. However, if we have a vig, i think they are best off keping their heads down.
Oh dear, oh dear. That was a fun roleclaim, wasn’t it
Well, if you are a Cabal member, I actually managed to peg it right on Day 1. Not to mention, getting you to waste a Roleblock on me last Night. Oh and if you are Cabal, you just made my life much easier seeing as how I have to second guess all the Night kills and who might have made them. Not to mention that if you have a Night kill the odds of me finding a culprit go up.
Damn, that makes me feel good, although I will wait until I get some further confirmation from Pleonast after your death before celebrating.
Should we lynch you. Yes we should. All we can determine is that you attempted a Kill at Night and that you are a self proclaimed scum. Letting you live is a mistake. For those people looking for a Vig, I don’t think we have one and I will be treating all Vig claims with more than usual suspicion.
Ok, some analysis:
Assuming **storyteller ** is a Magician, **pedescribe ** is a Night Killer. Yes, it is that easy, that is what the role is supposed to do. Catch a Night Killer for us and ship him the following Day.
Assume **storyteller ** is setting **pedescribe ** up. This would require the following.
**storyteller ** and **pedescribe ** to be on the same scum team either Wolf or Cabal. If **pedescribe ** is a Vampire, this is false.
If **Nanook ** is a Witch, then **storyteller ** has to be the Omega Wolf (town reading) and **pedescribe ** a Wolf. If **pedescribe ** comes back Cabal or Vampire, **storyteller ** is not a Wolf, but not much else can be inferred.
If **storyteller ** is shown to be something other than Town or the Omega Wolf, then **Nanook ** is also scum. If **Nanook ** is shown to be scum, we cannot infer anything about **storyteller’s ** role.
I think that covers it.
Overall, the simple version that **storyteller ** is a Magician is much more likely than the mess that exists if he is not. For those who think it unlikely to happen. Been there, done that, apologised to **sinjin **afterwards.
The best action the town can take is to lynch pedescribe.
Ok I can’t even promote a lynch the lurker after that post from Pede “I’m scum but if you kill me scum get more night kills” I’m amazed by how stupid he thinks we are. I’m willing to bet vamp because there is no way a team would let him go down this path. I still would like to discuss CoG888 as a potential for tomorrow.
Unvote CoG888
may he be mod killed
Vote Pede
Is there a reason to think the town’s judgment would be more accurate than the vig’s on a secondary target?
Hey, if you guys don’t believe me that’s your loss. I’m doomed, remember? I’m laying everything on the line.
You’re awfully threatening for a guy on the gibbet on Day Two.
Yeah, we’re terrified. Hand over your super secret Night kill to one of your cohorts. Maybe they’ll use it as effectively as you used yours.
Sure ped, we believe you. We’re shaking in our boots over here, can’t you tell?
Regarding my lack of vote at the end of Day 1, I spaced, pure and simple. I didn’t really have a handle on who to vote for, and dithered a bunch and then the Day ended. In retrospect, my comment was wrong, and not because I didn’t vote. It was Day 1, and there was no really strong candidate, so a low amount of votes for the eventual lynchee should have been expected. Today’s lynch shows how wrong I was I think, since it’s almost certainly going to end pretty damn close to unopposed. Speaking of which…
Vote pedescribe
Your actions recently have really cemented this home for me. I don’t believe your recent stuff, but the fact that you’re a scum of some variety cannot be disputed at this point.
I have no issues with letting people know in advance when a Witch dies as long as I’m still alive when it happens. Would anyone object if I waited a bit however, til say just before the actual reveal? That would still work to confirm me without exposing me unnecessarily early.
Expose you in what way? You’re already “exposed,” if you’ve been truthful. I can see no reason why you would need to wait. If a Witch dies, they’re dead, and you can tell us so immediately. The only motivation behind waiting to make your reveal is the hope that some other circumstance will arise freeing you from having to make the statement, or else being scum with some secret ability to learn the identities of the dead before the Town does.
In other words, yes, I would object. If you intend to use this as a method of confirming your own identity, you should reveal the Witch’s Witch-dom as soon as he or she is dead.
I object also. What would waiting do for the town? You’re already out there and claimed if you are who you say you are.
