Give me the upturned eyebrow if you like - I’m just saying, I can’t imagine that I would have used that particular phrasing if I was the Detective. (The real one, I mean.) I think it’s natural to report it essentially as you’re told and not make your own assumptions.
Zsofia, the detective’s investigation will fail only if the target was killed by a Vampire. It’s natural to assume that if he doesn’t get a name, then the target was killed by a Vampire. This is EXACTLY how I reported my results in the first game. Interestingly, I caught the same kind of flak for it. You probably would use that phrasing if you were the Detective because it is a part of the role.
That being said, I am curious as to why **Brewha ** was picked instead of Santo Rugger. What was the thought process behind it CIAS?
Question:
What result does a Detective receive when they investigate a body killed by a Vampire?
A Detective does not receive the identity of the killer if the killer is a Vampire. Instead, the Detective receives the role: “Vampire”.
Well, I guess that puts the whole question to rest.
Sure no probs, here is the thinking cut out of the PM that I sent to Pleonast.
Note that this was sent before **pedescribe ** went off the rails and claimed Cabal.
Also, if **brewha ** was protected by the Warlock, that protection is wasted. If he was protected by the WitchDoctor, we can lynch the Vampire Tomorrow which will really dent the Undead’s chances.
Aaah, I didn’t understand that your PM would say “Vampire” instead of failed. I apologize. (I was operating on the assumption that we were told there would be lots of secret powers and we have not seen them yet.)
Hey, CiaS, thanks for that color coding Vote Post.
I love those damn things, and I’m glad to see someone keeping up with that. It just clicks better in my head when I see colors and stuff like that.
Thanks!
Wait, if brewha was protected by the Warlock, and was killed by the Vampire, doesn’t that mean we’ll have a dead Vampire tomorrow morning?
I don’t plan on brewha waking up tomorrow: Docs (even WitchDocs) have a nasty tendency to self-protect night one, especially when the most important outted role (a Witch) can protect themselves.
But in happier news, the bar’s back open! In honor of storyteller’s miraculous powers of rescumdirection, I offer:
The Sleight of Hand
Watch the bartender pour dozens of costly liqueurs into a shaker, toss them gently out, then pour, into a fine crystal glass a concotion smelling of mangoes, raspberries and a faint hint of blood. Watch out, the drink may light itself on fire at some point while youenjoy it. The garnish of a small, star-tipped wand is a collectible!
The Vampire is immune to the Warlock’s curse.
Hey everybody!
Time for me to plug the game that me, Dotchan, and a couple of people you won’t know if you aren’t playing the offboard games, will be running. Storyteller is helping to design it, sach is too (just in case the 4 of us who are modding weren’t enough to entice you).
Its a fun game. Should be relativly fast paced and is guaranteed to piss you off at least 25% of the time (or your money back!). And come on, there will be 4, count em 4 mods, each one of us our own special flavor of bastard. What could go wrong?
If you are interested in this game we are callin “Gastard Mod Mafia” head over to this linky and take a look:

If you like what you see, sign on up. It will start no later than 14 days from the time that the game running over there now ends. We don’t know when that will be yet, but we wanted to get the sign ups going early since it might take some time to sort things out once everyone has signed up.
It should be fun. Hope to see some new blood over there.
Well, fine. Read the rules, why doncha?
Frickin’ goody two-shoes Hockey… always followin’ the rules…

See post 1367. If that is not sufficient then let me know and I will try to clarify.
And I understand that to an extent picking an investigatee is a crap shoot. However, as others have already mentioned in a game where it appears that the PMs were “a” as opposed to “the” there is much more wiggle room regarding false claims. And the fact that you got a no read is very convenient. I do want to add that convenient doesn’t necessarily translate into scum, IMHO. But from a purely town fiduciary standpoint it does necessitate continued watchfulness.
No, your reasoning doesn’t make sense.
This relies on the rather huge assumption that we have a WitchDoctor in game.
As I am not going to assume such a fact, as I do not know it to be true or false and can only work on the information within the game, can you tell me why I should have investigated Santo Rugger?
Reminder: only four hours until Dawn. Anyone who wishes to use a Night action, must tell me before then.
Quiet in here today.
Too quiet.
Yup, quiet indeed.
I for one, think we’re suffering from acute information starvation. The only thing we know for sure right now that we didn’t know 1400 posts ago is that Darth Sensitive is a Cabalist (Cabalite? Caballero?), which we kinda sorta suspected thanks to brewha. We know bits and pieces of other things, but I think it’s slow because we’ve been playing a long time without really learning anything new, so there’s not much goad to fresh discussion.
Caballero! I like it. Now I’ll picture the Cabal in sombreros.
That’s just the mexican Cabal member, who knows what the rest of them will be wearing on their heads
There was no party that Night. Perhaps the Day was too long, perhaps the matter of lynching too settled. Or perhaps the fear of the coming onslaught kept villagers in their homes. They needn’t have worried too much, though, for the Night claimed only one victim:
RoOsh is dead.
The slow investigations of the previously murders reveals a few clues: NaturalBlondChap was a member of the same Cabal as Darth Sensitive. And brewha and Santo Rugger were loyal citizens of the Town.
Oh, and it appears brewha did not rest easily. The disturbances around his grave leaves no doubt that he is a Zombie!
Day Three has begun! Dusk on Wednesday, July 16.
