Ouchy. The loss of the Witch Doctor is very unfortunate.
You know, so far the game has been, as far as we know, incredibly free of scum cross-kills. That’s going to become problematic eventually; I don’t think we can win without cross-kills, even if we lynch perfectly.
OK, so, I’m guessing the first order of business is Diggit’s purported kill of Roosh. I’d really like to hear whether Diggit wishes to confirm or deny this before commenting on it further, but he seems to be MIA at the moment.
Well, clearly you can’t trust anything an outed scum says - we’re still getting more than one kill, so either we have wolves and an active Vig or we have at least one surviving vampire. Is that right?
Zsofia, there is one other possibility; that one of the scum groups has a Toughguy power (a one-shot bonus Nightkill) and decided to use it to keep us guessing about numbers.
OK, here’s the thing. If Diggit is on vacation or some such, and doesn’t come by to answer Cat’s charges, then we’re going to waste a lot of time waiting for him. Here’s my take on the situation as I understand it.
There are really only three possibilities regarding what Diggit is likely to say when he returns.
"Hi, I’m Diggit, and I’m a Wolf / Vampire / Killin’ Caballero. Lynch me, please." Highly unlikely, but given the way pedescribe and Boozy rolled over and played dead when caught out, not impossible.
"Hi, I’m Diggit, and I’m your friendly neighborhood Vigilante." This will be an interesting situation, if he goes in that direction. It would provide some evidence that CiaS may be telling the truth. It is also essentially self-confirming, in that if Diggit is the Vig and killed Roosh, Diggit will be commiting seppuku or whatever suicidal Vigs do in this Town, tonight.
In the case of #2, the real challenge will be to decide whether we want to give Diggit one more Day/Night cycle to do whatever he’s doing, or lynch him on the spot, or neither. There are very significant disadvantages to the “let’s just wait and see if he kills himself” plan, after all.
Hi, I’m Diggit, and I’m not a killer. CatinaSuit is a big fancy liar. Now we have a real conundrum, and one that will require some effort to solve. But in the meanwhile, does anyone have any thoughts not related to Diggit and Cat to start poking through?
Wow. Sucks indeed to lose the Witchdoctor. Some of these bodies better start being revealed as Undead pretty soon, or the town is going to get overrun with the brain-craving.
My sentiments exactly. That’s why I would suggest letting DC alone today, at least initially. But I still want to hear from him and sooner rather than later would be best.
I am just puzzled about the number of night kills. 3-1-2.
The permutations are rather vast but suffice it to say that on the first night one of them couldn’t be a vig or there were would already be a suicide if we believe story. And based on pede’s reaction it would have to be a hell of an acting job.
Then we get a single RoOsh. Seriously WTF.
Hopefully there was some crossfire last night but if DC is a wolf then we know we didn’t get a vamp.
I am dangerously close to going down the mass role claim bunny hole again. Because with two zombies, a Nec and at least one Vamp, some number of wolves and cabal greater than zero town is getting close to peril.
Sorry about my absence, both work and Google’s codejam kind of distracted me from the game.
Now, about CatinASuit… unless he’s incredibly lucky, he’s right about my killing Roosh (and 99% confirmed). Still, it surprised me plenty to hear he got my name from Pleonast, because I was sure there had been a double target on Roosh’s back that Night.
The thing is: I’m a Warlock. And I’d enchanted Pygmy Rugger the first Night, which, in turn, caused **Roosh **to die.
Huh. So the relevant meat of the Warlock rule entry is
Bolding mine. It seems plausible that such subtle wording might escape the collective perceptions of quite a few folks. I certainly haven’t been anticipating what Diggit alleges as a potential explanation. But then again, I can be dumb as a box of rocks. Seems like I could be in good company though on that point though. Or perhaps some of you were aware of that possibility but kept it to yourself, which is a path full null tells as to whether motivations for doing so were pro-town (to not out the Warlock) or pro-scum (to potentially frame Diggit). Hmmm. Interesting indeed.
But, it is another conveniently lucky coincidence that Diggit managed to find a Witchdoctor needle in the haystack. Can you explain why you chose to enchant Rugger?
I was pretty sure that brewha(as the Coroner) would be the target of the Vampire(s)
CatInASuit would be a.) protected by the Witches or b.) covered by the WitchDoctor and wasn’t likely to die that Night
Nanook was also unlikely to die (for the same reason as number 2)
I had made a list of 5 potential potential protectees before the game started (not including me) and the Cat was on it, so, I rolled the dice and **Pygmy Rugger ** got protected
