There’s another errant apostrophe in Cookies’ message. I know it means something; I wish I knew what!
I don’t think it means anything. I think there was a mistake in the first one and they decided to just go with it to mess around.
Man, what ever happened to good old fashioned scum hunting? ToDay’s been crazy quiet.
flicks tear away
It seems like just yesterday we were linking you to the mafia wiki. They grow up so fast!
From the outside, it appears scum has done a good job killing all the outspoken Townies, such as yourself. That seems to have put Town at a disadvantage.
Here’s my thoughts: There’s 10 players left. Two that I would consider confirmed as Town (Suburban and Babale). That leaves a field of 8 to pick and choose from. Then you have the claim and no claim of wombat99* and Lightfoot. That leaves 6. So out of:
Johnny Bravo
Dizzy
fubbleskag
Meeko
TexCat
gnarlycharlie
There should be at least two wolves (assuming the game started with four) and a SK in there. 50/50 shot of hitting someone good if you fire in there.
- wombat’s claim smelled okay to me at first glance, and (as a non-player) I don’t have the time and energy to sort through it. That’s their job.
It really seems town is less concerned with the game state than they should. Assuming another bad night of three town kills plus a town mislynch, scum or third party could be perilously close to winning.
10 players left, and for an even number assume 2 remaining scum, 1 remaining SK. Call this day 1.
At the end of toDay, lets say we mislynch. 6 town, 2 Scum, 1 SK.
At the end of Night 1, assuming it goes as bad for town as possible, we have a Mis-Vig or whatever wombat is, a scum kill, and a SK kill. 3 town, 2 scum, 1 SK. LyLo, right?
This lynch matters a LOT.
I think wombat is the SK.
There is little reason to believe the scum message outright, but wombat claimed VIG. Vig is the classic SK claim. Taken alone, the scum message is easily dismissed, but I find it harder to believe that scum just happened to pick the Vig as for their false message. It’s possible, but less likely.
The wolves were probably honest about Guiri. Guiri did die on the same night as the message about Guiri showed up. That doesn’t mean the wolves wouldn’t take the opportunity to mislead Town, but their use of messages strikes me as genuine since I think if they wanted to be deceptive, they would try a totally different tactic.
I think that wombat is more likely to be an SK than a Vig.
there is some odd phrasing in Wombats claim
“Each Night, you must target a player of your choice and kill them until they are dead.”
kill them until they are dead? Seams awfully redundant phrasing
or just a result of being a serial killer who has to keep going after the target until that target is dead or just not careful editing of a role PM?
Do town know catagorically that there is a serial killer?
[Edit] I’m responding to Sachertorte. [/edit]
Also true, although that’s a less “as bad as possible for town” case. From a townie perspective, I’ve always thought it pays to assume at every point, everything will go wrong for you. If he’s the SK, town “lucks out” and only has two night deaths in front of them, I think. That’s a little more breathing room.
Even so, today’s lynch is critical, and there should be a flurry of casemaking right about now!
Not categorically, no, but almost certainly. Story said third party(ies) can’t win before Day 5, which strongly hints at their existence.
Well, I think my flip as a third party more than strongly hints. But the question is whether there are more out there or not.
Pleonast’s message mentioned the SK, and he’s now dead and confirmed. That seems like pretty strong evidence to me.
Plus, of course, the abundance of kills.
I meant my comment in a subtle, sardonic kind of way. I’m pretty sure there’s an SK.
Right we already have USC as a third party , so there may be more.
I was thinking Serial Killer as 3rd party role, rather than a compulsory Vig, which is what Wombat is claiming.
Well wombat is claiming to be a role replicator that took Pleos role. The kills is still odd, 2,3,2,3,2. If there is a wolf kill, a compulsory vig and a SK we had 3 blocks/protetcs. Agggg something isnt adding up, probably me.
Anyway , I still can’t work out on my scumdar if a green light means it found town , or scum.
Some of those might also be multi-targeting. If the Wolves and the SK both target the same person, they’ll only die once.
Explanations have been offered in-game for at least two of the three low-kill Nights.
By the way, assuming all of those messages came from the wolves, it’s actually pretty clever to claim credit after the fact for your kills with the whole “X is dead or the SK.” If they’re being honest, it’s a great way to “collaborate” with town on killing the SK.
Yeah, the barn is definitely an interesting mechanic. I vaguely feel like it’s being underused, though I can’t really articulate why. I guess we won’t know until the game’s over and we have the benefit of hindsight.
I kept contemplating how I could use the Barn to my benefit, but unfortunately I waited one Night too many to take the chance. The funny thing is, the Night Red Skeezix “The Decaying Parish Priest” was killed I was going to post a message and add a made up role of “The Priest” to give it some authenticity. That would have been fucking awesome! But at the time I hadn’t come up with the Librarian claim. If only I had been a little more forward thinking that Night!
If nothing else, that [signing “The Priest”] would have sown some chaos in Town, since it would make two different barn messages apparently both authored by Red. I’d have loved to have seen Town try to puzzle that one out.
