Mafia - Game in progress [Edited title]

Sorry ortho. I will play in another Heroes game, no doubt.

Man, now I’m all excited about De’endee 2. Cranked out the bad guy roles & powers, the town roles, and a few of the concepts I want to introduce. Leveling makes a return in a big way!

My apologies folks. I had a bothersome week; there always seemed to be something else to do. It hasn’t finished yet as the appointment I normally attend on Friday mornings was put off to this afternoon to allow me to attend a short training session - which was cancelled because the trainer called in sick. That’s going to be fun to explain.

I’ll be back to normal at the weekend - I hope.

Astral, if you still want some D&D help let me know.

Sure! I’ll finish jotting out my concepts, throw 'em up on a board somewhere, and send you a link. Balance is the biggest thing I’m worried about, but general DND knowledge (I still have just about none!) would also be a huge help.

I’m happy to answer any general D&D questions you have, Astral, though since I want to play you may have to word them very generically to avoid giving me hints about stuff. Can I see a link to the previous D&D game, and is there a spoiler thread I can look at?

Here’s a link to the game itself. The spoiler board is at astralmafia.proboards.com. If you sign in and make an account, you should be able to see the scum board and the spoiler board.

Spoiled board password: levelup

Ack, I only just noticed it because of your post. I always figured it was some weird French phrase.

I wouldn’t know French if it ran over my dog and spat in my face.

sorry guys, real life has been kicking the shit out of me all week - haven’t been able to read since like, Friday. I hate the idea of subbing, as I imagine it really throws off everything, but if there’s one waiting in the wings I’m happy to oblige if that’s your preference - I’ll be trying to get caught up today/tonight but I thought the same thing several times already this week.

Well, it *is *French, so that’s always a possibility…

OK. I apologize for the French joke. I didn’t mean to kill the thread…

The thread didn’t die, it just surrendered.

Did the Wolves get Story???

Very cheesy!

I literally laughed out loud.

Thanks.

I loved every one of those jokes!

Anyone want a cupcake? I just made 12 beautiful Smores Cupcakes, and 24 minis for a dinner party we were going to tonight, that got cancelled :frowning: I really don’t want all of those goodies laying around, I’m trying desperately to still lose this baby weight!

Please all come over and take one! LOL

I will have to settle for a piece of chocolate bread that the little artisan bakery across the street makes on Fridays. Soooo good. Toasted with a little butter. Not as sweet as raisin bread or biscotti but has semisweet choc chips in it.

Dawn, Day Five

EXT – THE STONE STEPS OF THE CHURCH. We hear the church bells ringing madly without pause. Gathered on the stairs are a small contingent of those who remain.

LIGHTFOOT
It’s been going for hours, now!

COOKIES
Can’t anyone make it stop?

FUBBLESKAG
The old priest is in there… it must be his doing.

ASTRAL REJECTION
<bloody gurgles, as he tries to process the hole in his chest>

DIZZYMRSLIZZY
Crap – Astral’s dead, everybody.

BABLE
Sorry, Astral. But those bells are really annoying.

MEEKO
Lynch the bells!

SUBURBAN PLANKTON, JOHNNY BRAVO
Lynch the bells!

Astral Rejection, a Peasant Redshirt, has been killed.

They burst into the sanctuary, but the priest is nowhere to be seen. Ominous music plays. They make their way toward the stairs. Outside the stain glass window we see Mahaloth, slumped on the ground against a tree.

GNARLYCHARLY
I think Mahaloth’s dead, too, guys.

USCDIVER
Silence the bells!

THE OTHERS
The bells!

Mahaloth, a Peasant Redshirt, has also been killed.

They ascend a brief, winding, wooden staircase and arrive at a small door. The camera closes on the door. It is an ominous door.

TEXCAT
Whatever we face, we must be ready.

They throw open the door. The large central bell in the bell tower has its clapper removed. Standing in for the clapper is the body of a very old man, wrapped in ceremonial robes, quite dead. The bells themselves ring unceasingly, as they are pushed continuously by two at-first unfamiliar figures. At our party’s entrance they stop their action and step into the light: it is choie and orthohedron, looking much like Pizzaguy did before he started falling apart.

ORTHOHEDRON
Good morning, everyone!

CHOIE
Miss me?

Redskeezix, the Decaying Parish Priest, who was the Town Cop, is dead.

choie and orthohedron have returned to the game. Like Pizzaguy, they cannot act or vote, and cannot be voted for. If you have to ask whether you can target them with a Night action, you can’t. But they can talk at will.

The camera pans out the window, to the barn below. There on the walls is another message:

Demons! One Townie now 3rd Party. Pizzaguy involved. - Demon Hunter

Day Five begins here, and will end on Thursday at 2:00PM EST. Have fun!

Godspeed, Astral, Skeezix, and Mahaloth.

So many deaths, so much to process…

First thought: so much for the investigator telling us what he knew before dying. That’s really frustrating.

Second thought: The message on the barn seems to contradict storyteller’s assertion that zombies “cannot act or vote.” Feels like an attempted misdirect.

Third thought: I have no idea what kind of mechanism would lead to one zombie, then no zombies for a long time, then two zombies at once. Do either of you two have any insights to share with us?
