Why would the Patsy be attacked by scum? The Patsy is vanilla. Yes he/she is semi-confirmed but they have no power til end game.
I think the Patsy should not immediately claim. There is a reasonable chance of scum cross kills, but that chance greatly diminishes if there are obvious targets for them.
Colby’s explanation looks reasonable. Interesting thing about apparent scum slips is that, while town and scum do them, scum react to them about 100% of the time.
These are the Colby voters:
Texcat, Guiri, Septimus, Meeko, Toejam, Hockey Monkey, Lakai, Suburban Plankton
FOS to the lot of them. My vote is already on one them, so I’m happy with that.
Whatever about Colby’s phrasing, what’s your threshold or benchmark for an early Day 1 vote? Surely your threshold would increase as the Day progresses and there’s more evidence on the table. For someone with high standards, your only other post toDay was this:

I put down my reasoning in relatively lengthy post, for me, so far in this game. I’m kinda “there” for the moment, you know? In terms of Colby constructing this response post… I’m not moved… It seems to be hurried and perhaps most importantly, rehearsed.
Do we really end this discourse with a “Meh” ?
And if we do… Was that aspect of the post also talked about off board? A kinda … Sweetener to the deal? Is this the whistling that the ““nonchalant”” man must do? The guilty dog barking?

If you want us to go somewhere on the exposed roles [Am I reading too much in on the use of the word “Exposed” here?] can you help us out? … I mean, I think you can, obviously, given that I’m voting for you… But regardless, it’s still kinda abscent. Perhaps there really isn’t a better thread out there? You ask us to … in so many words, get off of you, but you don’t give us the opportunity.

I’m actually inclined to give Colby the benefit of the doubt on this one, largely because it’s Colby and I feel like I’ve voted him for a “slip” that turned out not to be a slip in almost every game we’ve played together:smack:

This is important, I don’t recall this in Colby but it’s been a while, does he really have a habit of being accused of making apparent scum slips as town?

@Plumpudding, this is your first and only post toDay? I get that Colby is the leader and you may feel the case is weak sauce, but is that it?
Have you never played with Meeko before?
Yeah, scum would have no good reason to kill a claimed Patsy instead of fishing around for the other scum team or Town power roles, unless they don’t believe the claim and think it’s really a scum player from the other side or a 3rd party, or if they think they might get a protector.
If the Patsy claims, and I am neutral on that, I think it would be unwise for them to be protected.
I’m getting there, well somewhere, slowly. Vacation, booze, family, art… Maybe the airports will grant me lucidity.
The only reason for scum to kill off the patsy is to remove the revenge kill ability if a patsy is lynched.
But, it’s not three words. It’s those three words coupled with “or an arsonist” Like Guiri pointed out.
You’ve got to admit that the wording looks suspicious. Calling the vote BS seems overly defensive to me.

erm, ok, my usual side of the pond, since I’m stateside at the moment before heading to the far east.
We already have a 4 person masonary, the patsy could effectively make it 5.
if the patsy claims, they could end up being a lightening road with watchers/protections/kills/whatever - it could get very messy
Agreed - that is pretty much how Colby tried to meh out of Dante’s game when he was suspected as scum on day one.
Just by sheer numbers, it seems like the revenge kill is more likely to hit Town.
