Hey all, I am dead now in my other game. I’ve seen some comments about Septimus here and there and his maybe playing like this as town. My own memory/experience has him playing in one game with me where he was likewise crazy scummy from day one; when we lynched him on day 2 or 3 guess what, he was scum. So there’s that.

I’m still not sold on Colby. I don’t believe the slip was actually a slip, having read it again just now. His lack of participation overall is not a good look, but I’m not getting the same vibe from what he has posted as I got when I correctly read him scum last game on Giraffe.

ToeJam is still scummy as heck to me, but we’ll see what further posts reveal.

I will probably post a lot as I catch up properly; I apologize in advance for the spam.

• This brings up a problem with Lynch-the-Loud vs Lynch-the-Lurker. Scum can hide and not get lynched on Day 1 by just not participating much. They won’t be getting dirty mixing it up in the mud pit. There are plenty of reasons to post cautiously and/or sparsely, and not all of them are Scum reasons. I don’t know what the solution is. But I do know, as the game progresses, we are going to have to start holding players accountable for lurking.

This is my biggest issue with day one votes as well. Right now there are a handful of prolific posters and a whole bunch of people that have posted little. Admittedly, I’m one of the players that hasn’t posted much. I’m just not seeing much to post about now. This early in the game, I’m completely blind. It won’t be until we’ve got voting records and lynch results that we can start figuring out motivations.

I do need to get a vote in day one. I think it’s important for everyone to vote and be accountable.

It wasn’t just the three words - but the three words, the content around those three words, and his reaction to the suspicion - he called it BS, and the fact that he’s been quiet quite since the incident.

I’ve seen a ton of games where if people are quiet for long enough, something else comes up and the players move on. It’s looking like that’s his strategy.

I really don’t like Total Lost trying to force a claim from septimus. And the way I see is - someone being forced to confirm if something is a soft claim makes the result a hard claim. I’m ok with soft claims, myself. I don’t think that was one, but I have been wrong lots more than I am right in this game. But if you don’t want to possibly distract Town protecters with a soft claim, how does forcing a harder claim not just paint a target?

It’s weird to me, this “turn your possible soft claim into something more concrete.”

I believe the second response was spurred by people raising questions about me due to asking questions. Questions, yes, that would be patently obvious if I were scum, and would only be necessary if I were town, but somehow were being construed as an attempt to illicitly declare myself as Town.

Was it defensive, perhaps overly so? Sure. But is being defensive really enough for you to now send a vote my way? Seems dumb, but I’ve certainly based Day One votes on dumber things before.

You come into the thread and immediately claim Vanilla Town, which is weird but whatever. Then you immediately start talking about what you feel would be the best strategy for scum. A strategy which, by definition, couldn’t be discussed on the scum boards.

You don’t do this in the context of offering any ideas about how Town might counter this. You just say “Oh noes, if scum think of doing* this* not-particularly-obvious thing, we’re all screwed!”

Why, as Town, would you do that?

I think the Patsy should not immediately claim. There is a reasonable chance of scum cross kills, but that chance greatly diminishes if there are obvious targets for them.

Do you not see " yes that was meant as a soft claim" or no it wasn’t is " more concrete" than a soft claim itself?
