especially in a game where we strictly are not required by our win con to kill one.

but a win stealing SK was not mentioned either-- so?

And even if it’s turns out to be true, the only people who would really care are Town powers, scum of all types, and non-LUTHA(assuming their stated wincon is true, which I admit at this point is looking sketchy) third parties. But the way you worded it, you seem to be disavowing being a Town power role, so what does that leave? Not good things, that’s what.

If I were a Town power would I have raised that flag at this time?

Flavor is flavor, it is not game based.

Not specifically no, but the possibility of third parties with win cons that were not the same as either Town or Scum WAS, so that’s not remotely bastard.

I would guess not. I would expect you to find some other reason to slip off the vote, like wanting to register suspicion of another player or similar.

Can you elaborate on what is bothering you? It’s not like a SK has a lot of options available when caught more or less red handed. And Cookies actions since said catching are pretty consistent with someone who is completely screwed and has no way to same themselves.

Well, I think we need to figure out what kind of benefit Cookies might have to being lynched today. Most of us were planning on either lynching Hal or discussing the issue between the two options. IF she took out Hal, she did ensure she meets the noose today.

3. Bomb a la GLADOS flooding the compound (or the lynching mob) with neurotoxin

4. …Some other benefit, like being able to pass the SK powers to someone else?

I really hope I’m wrong - could there be two SKs, and cookies isn’t GladOS? Or GladOS is some other type of role, here.

I’m worried if there is a SK out there pursuing LUTHA, and Cookies mentioned a list - how would Hal be on her list?

My experience shows that, over the long haul, the activity of an SK winstealer tends to do more harm to the Town that the scum.

I played in the Arkham Revisited game (it’s still hiding over n Idle’s board, I hope). The game started badly for the do-gooders, with the first Day’s lynch being the Godfather and the second being a single-shot recruiter who failed to find a recruit.

Do-gooders won.

The Town were seduced by the lure of getting an early lead on the Mafia and allowed the second placed lynchee, who proved to be the Serial Killer, to live until far into the midgame. The damage she wrought was enough to enable the single hidden do-gooder to become active and retake the Batgear, resulting in a scum win.

Removing the SK will remove a single kill per Day/Night cycle, slowing the rate of Town attrition and maybe giving us enough time to win despite the bad start. Removing a single scum, whether Mafia or Wolves, will not.

I just felt that this should be quoted again because I think some people are going a bit too far down the rabbit hole. A little paranoia is a good thing in Mafia. Too much paranoia is how people lose otherwise unlosable games.

Ask yourself, again, how it is that sach and crys survived for so long after claiming if someone was specifically targeting LUTHA? Paranoia will be your undoing.

I think based on the color, that GladOS took out sacherorte. Simply because it was a mechanical sort of package, and the “strange but friendly voice” sounds like a description of the GladOS voice pursuing her targets. But at the same time, the most famous line from the game is “the cake is a lie,” and Hal was killed by cake. So that death could be GladOS as well.

(OOG there is a great videoof the Portal theme song being signed in ASL - the last thing he signs - that’s not part of the lyrics themselves - is “the cake is a lie”)

Just the opposite in fact. The discussion today seems to be heading towards some sort of paranoia driven movement away from Cookies. Maybe I’m overreacting to the active discussion, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

As Nanook said, I shouldn’t stare too long into the Abyss. We’ll see with the lynch, at least, depending on how this day goes.

If you are referencing my idea that there could be a bomb effect lynching ** cookies ** just say so.
I am prepared to defend the idea- I laid it out in what I thought was plain.

I am unsure that Town powers should be on that wagon. It is going off the damn cliff for certain. but no need to risk what little power we have left. You can’t see that, fine.
after the lynch you can laugh your butt off at me ( if I am all wet) . but until then…
