Mafia Reunion: Day Seven

  1. We do not know **Cookies **wincon. In a game with 55 players it probably could not have been to be the sole survivor. The rules say Town/Scum win if their Wincon is reached, regardless of whether 3rd party were to win at the same time. That implies to me that there is a 3P win condition that includes living Town or Scum, but is not a benign LUTHA, who supposedly win with Town or Scum.

  2. **Cookies ** went after Septimus on Day 1. This risky action strikes me as odd because **Septimus ** could have been self-protecting. **Septimus **would also have been a logical target for a Watcher. Was an EMT kill needed for a SK win condition? Maybe.

  3. **Hal ** dies last Night with **Cookies **a likely suspect in that death. That leads to an almost definite lynch toDay for **Cookies **. Odd.

  4. The whole GLaDOS thing is disturbing. Sure, color is color, but this is really out of left field.

  5. **Cookies **confession came so easily. Maybe there was nothing else she thought she could do. Or maybe something deeper is going on.

None of this is proof of anything. Paranoia? Probably so. But I think it is reasonable to be a bit cautious just the same.

I think we might be running into a bit of a language barrier here, and I apologize if I have been less than clear.

I am aware of your bomb idea, and the plan you proposed regarding it. I do not think that Cookies is even remotely likely to be a bomb. Further, I think that any attempt to mitigate the potential downside of said hypothetical bomb is far more likely to cause harm to the long term success of Town, in that it is likely to inadvertently expose what hidden roles still exist for an astronomically small chance to avoid a theoretical bomb.

Ive never actually played portal - was that possibly a companion cube that killed sachertorte?

I dont actually think it’s likely that Cookies has any kind of Uber-bomb. The most likely scenario is that Cookies just figured there wasn’t a way out. If she killed Hal, I don’t see a reason to believe that Hal was Lutha.

we agree to disagree I guess - I would feel better if our claimed Town power moved their vote- if others do so as well, we can sift through them later

  • maybe * I am off me rocker but what I read about the GLaDOS gives me pause ( and maybe paws I am not sure)

I thought it was one of the friendly turrets.

Mhaye moving his vote I can agree with. That doesn’t have any downside since he’s already out and exposed.

Thank you for that bit .
even if you don’t agree with my hare brained idea

Paul was jabbering on about dual slit experiments and schroedinger’s cat over at the giraffe game last Night. I even post some morbotro/futurama screenshots. Perhaps you were thinking of that too? I know I’m getting both game mixed up…ugh.

You may have the right of it there SNF- what are the odds

I have to toddle off to doctor crap- see you later

Ok, wow, so much information - it’s awesome! Thanks to those who risked claiming.

As far as further claims go - if there are in fact 5 LUTHA I think it might be a good idea for them to claim (and hopefully be able to confirm one another, at least to some extent). I think it would be reasonably fair for Town to agree to not lynch them since their elimination is not part of Town’s wincon (unfortunately there’s no guarantees as to what Scum will do).

As for Town Powers and Masons claiming I think perhaps it should be left unless they come under fire and it looks like they may be lynched. They’ve done alright by keeping their identities quiet so far. That said, a nice block of confirmed Townies would help in avoiding the potential lynching of Town.

Thanks for coming forward with this info, and the info on the switch. About the switch, have you thrown it all? if so, which Days/Nights?

There is certainly something up with her, which would explain why she is stubbornly refusing to give us any information. However, options 1, 2, and 3 seem far too powerful to me in all my year of playing. I’d believe 4 if she turns out to be LUTHA afiiliated. The Glados thing might not be related to her at all…maybe…but reading about it makes me want to go and play portals now…

NETA: I’m betting that Cookies IS Lutha affiliated. And if not, killing Lutha is NOT part of her wincon. Crys and sachertorte woulda been long gone if so.

LOL you know the worst part? Listening to the theme song (I linked upthread) made me start getting way paranoid about the fact that the protagonist kills her and yet…she cheerfully sings that she is still alive at the end. Serial killer scotsman…how bastardy would that be.

And I think that there is a reason that Cookies is being so uncooperative. There must be some thing we are missing- whether damage related or win con related. Or she is obstinate. I can’t rule that out completely.

Cookies…I agree that her lynch seems to be too easy. I’m not saying she shouldn’t be lynched, but just wonder why she’s so keen on it. Perhaps it’s just that she figures she’s been caught so might as well have fun. Depending on her wincon does no one think she might be willing to strike a deal with Town? She does not have to be dead for Town to win. Do serial killers always have to be the only survivor? I know in the game where I was a SK I had to kill everyone, but it was a much smaller game. Ultimately at this time I guess there isn’t really any reason to trust her.

Do keep in mind who would be most keen on lynching the SK? If we lynch the SK then we absolutely can’t be lynching Scum. Those who seem overly sensitive about suggestions of not lynching her might warrant a little question mark.

This brings me to Koldanar’s claim of possibly having the SK switch. Does it seem reasonable in a game where the SK potentially has over 50 people to kill that there is a switch that can turn them off? If it is a SK switch then why doesn’t Koldanar turn his switch off and anyone else that might have that switch, or control of all switches do nothing? The SK is dangerous to everyone so I can’t see why, if this switch is what we think it is, we can’t prevent them from at least having a Day kill all of the time.

And I have to say, even though colour is supposedly just colour, it definitely seems that Sachertorte was killed by a GladOS turret - in Portal 2 there were even those “mutant” turrets that were merged with boxes. Another point about GladOS is that you had to kill her in parts - maybe there’s something like this going on with Cookies?

Yes, this would definitely preclude her making a deal with Town.

Sachertorte was killed by bullets, before a Molotov cocktail was chucked in the window. And killed during the day. I don’t know anything about Portals or GladOS other than what has been posted in this thread, but that sure sounds like a Mafia hit to me.

SK is a very tough and lonely role. You have a next to impossible win con. You have no friends and many enemies. You’re expecting to be exposed at every moment. I suspect that Cookies is both disappointed and relieved. I don’t know why you expect her to co-operate. She’s not on our team, plus we’re fixing to lynch her.

We don’t know her win con, but she mentioned her “list”. I suspect that she has a list of people that she needed to eliminate starting with the EMT. She may have a LUTHA on her list, but not 2nd deacon. It might have been 1st deacon, or perhaps it’s even pontiff. She might be close to her win con depending on how many people she has on her list. Perhaps she’s still hoping to win if she gets her one more kill in toDay. A very good reason to stop this claiming toDay.

The turrets (here) have machine guns. “Hail of bullets” fits nicely with that, though the molotov cocktail doesn’t seem to.
