You know what I find really weird. I mentioned that I was going to do a comparison of the brewha and crys trains from yesterDay and see what information shakes out form the vote/unvote record.
Guess what? Unless I missed something there was absolutely no overlap between the two trains!
None. People jumped off both to join the ToeJam train or possibly a one-off–I wasn’t really paying attention to where they ended up while looking at this, but there were no cross-voters.
Since the reasons for lynching them were completely different, the reasons for not-lynching them were also completely different, and the ToeJam case is fairly weak, in my opinion and some others here, I’m really surprised that no one moved from one to the other. Even when Crys claimed no one jumped to her from Brewha, though plenty of non-voters formed a train against her. Even as the merits of both cases were weighed out, no one switched to the other train.
OK - This may be early, but I don’t know how sick I will get.
Because Idle Thoughts has NOT been playing to his normal specs, and, in fact has been playing in a manner that is consistent with past statements or behaviors that would indicate that he is not town, I am leaning towards believing him scum. Yes, I am using past behavior as a guide, which has weaknesses. I acknowledge, but I use this as my starting point for the week.
If other, stronger contenders emerge, I will move my vote if I believe it appropriate.
Yes, Thing Fish was talking about what I said, but gave information that I did not. Information that only someone who’s been reading a Scum board would know.
I’m not discounting anything. I am making my cases based on Day One reads.
OK, Pleo, I think I may actually see what you mean. You are saying that I assumed that, when one logs onto the scum board, one doesn’t see a list of all the other scum; therefore, if a scum didn’t post any comments, the other scum would have no way of knowing who he/she was. And you are thinking that this constitutes PIS?
Well, I did assume that. I’ve never been on a scum board in an SDMB game, but that is how the ones on giraffe work.
So all of your scum leans are from early Day One, though you’re commenting on developments since. You’re happy to spend another Day with a one-off vote. I still think you are scummy.
So you’re claiming that you have two dubious policies which you play by: “lynch all liars, no matter what” and “nobody should change their votes after some arbitrary time of Day”. And you think that brewha looked scummy because Townies never get pissed off about being lynched? Well, unless multiple people confirm that these odd beliefs actually fit your meta, I’m keeping you on the “happy to lynch Today” list.
You got on Biotop Yesterday about him moving his vote off brewha, which he clearly stated was due to fear of giving the scum control over Batman. But you didn’t address this issue, either then or at any time later.
So you are saying that, although you realized that killing brewha would have a high chance of getting the Town Vig shut down, you still vocally advocated for this lynch?
I’m liking the argument on Idle, for largely meta reasons. I don’t have the meta on the players that others do, but last time I mentioned that I was told I no longer get to play the newb card
Yeah, I keep waiting for one of the many players who has played more with Idle than I have to weigh in, but my impression is that being highly active as Town and vanishing as Scum is very much within his meta.
Still, Hal Briston has four posts all game, even less than** Idle**, and he hasn’t voted, whereas Idle voted once. I don’t see why one would vote for any other lurker over Hal.
I think you’re oversimplifying the case on ToeJam. There’s (1) the overly eager to avoid scrutiny attitude, (2) the contradiction of that attitude with his stated aggressive playstiel, (3) his 180 on Colby, (4) the deep lurk, (5) the nonsense about being the potential Day Kill. It’s not a bulletproof case, but it’s more than non-participation.
Seriously?! You know she’s lying, but you have no idea what, and you don’t know what to do about it?
[snip]
And you haven’t even read all of Day 2?
Okay… You suspicions of Crys75 is on* ignore*…
Am I right in that this was the post you got suspicious about?
So, Guiri asks me to vote, I post the above ^, but you really can’t see how I made a joke about him pushing me to vote while not putting a vote down on me for it? And why would I yield, even if I’m called on it, if I’m not ready to vote? Why is that scummy? Is this all? Up your game, build a case, this is embarrasing…
Yeah, Pleo’s “votes” are all awful. I put it in quotes because most of them don’t count, and all of them have such flimsy reasoning that it calling them votes is insulting to real votes. Normally he’s much more analytical, so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Perhaps an oversimplification on my part, but that’s how I view it personally. No one should take my synopsis as gospel.
I know I stated how much I hate using meta info from previous games in current ones, but if what everyone is saying about a scum Idle is true then it crosses the line into an M.O. I just don’t know if we should cut bait and lynch or wait for modkill and continue scum hunting.
This game has me second guessing my sincerely held beliefs on gameplay.
