I like this post. Sometimes I think the VTs rely too much on town powers. The game isn’t won solely with powers.
Nate, do you kick ass for the Lord?
The devil IS amongst us…
Ok, so back to the game. We know scums have infinite yapping. Prof’s case is so monumentally bad that can’t see his scum pally pals signing off on it. Unless he rogue posted it, or its a ploy of some kind…anyone have thoughts on this?
I mean a large chunk of you are voting for him for that terrible post, and the votes came in really quick. It’s making me…unsettled.
part of it. I asked him a question and he responded with a question about me clarifying my question and- snowballs- so yeah chasing rabbit butts .
I have been having the same sort of dance with ** Pleo **
I tried to sort of address that when I voted- but we get to-- it is so anti-Town why would Scum even do it.
I can’t let it sit though
Didn’t he conclude LTL was ineffectual at Giraffe? I can see him possibly as overwhelmed Town who resorts to LTL because he is overwhelmed. But why not just say that instead of arguing that LTL is effective and “traditional play” ineffectual. I am pretty sure he does not think that way.
I believe he mentioned that on giraffe, everyone’s meta knowledge of everyone else was over powering his stats so he gave it up over there. But over here, with so many, and a lot less meta going around, that’d he revived it…but…but…then he didn’t even vote for his own plan…sooo…maybe you are right. But if he was scum, why would he have been allowed to post that?
I might be too trusting. Biotop, remember that game where mod color essentially outed you as scum? And I still felt it was too obvious to be true? Is that happening now?
ToeJam’s plan to masquerade as a Cop might work in a normal game. But in a game with 2 scum teams, it’s a recipe for disaster. He is basically praying that only the “right” scum team notices his crumbs, which is a bit ridiculous. I can see various outcomes of his plan:
- Both scum teams notice the (supposed) Cop crumbs, and kill him quick
- Both scum teams notice something perhaps non-vanilla, and kill him quick
- Neither team notices anything. Nothing happens.
I don’t believe his claim. However, in this game an outed Doc has a short life expectancy, so if the claim is false I think it should not be countered.
I’ve played many a Scum game and I don’t remember ever allowing/not allowing a teammate to post. If I was going to make a major claim I’d run it by my Scummates. Strategy? Sure. Schemes? You bet. But the general blah blah of daily posting can’t be monitored that way, I don’t think.
What would you tell a teammate in trouble SNF? *Just be yourself and try to ride it out? *I think that is what I would advise. That would surely be better than giving him a false case and then expecting him to back it up under scrutiny.
Ugh. I remember how ticked off I was at the time. But on the bright side my Scum team still won that game, giant ants and all!
The one time I was scum with infiniyap, I made dante fake claim (which you know he hates) cop for the win. And I think total I’ve only been scum like 3 or some times. My first with you with NOYAP at all.
To add, my point is that I don’t think he ran it by anyone on any level, so either rogue posting scum, or town.
I have never played scum the way you discuss it. I’ve never molded a game where those scum played that way either. When you talk about signing off on other players’ posts you lose me. I’ve never done this, but I guess that’s a modern mafia trend maybe?
And which terrible post are you referring to? I’m voting for him for his desire to lynch 3P, then switches his vote to lurker scum Idle whom we have discussed at length about being a likely modkill. I’m voting for him because he is targeting non-participants. I’m voting him because he’s trying to play a mechanic numbers game that dismisses him from any accountability for his votes and means he doesn’t need to weigh in on too much and can remain fluid. I’m voting him for just starting to play the game seriously on D3 but calling out low posters while padding his post count with vote and post counts. Do you really believe he’s bumbling town or are you playing devil’s advocate to give him a fair shake?

More to add, it surely wouldn’t be “hey scumizens, this what I’m going to post”, but I could see maybe “hey scumizens, how about I post some more LtL nonsense then vote 3party?” But still anyone say that that would be a good idea…
To it reads as scum who was trying to catch up and missed a few minor points of consensus and blundered his way into positions on two topics I consider lynchable positions to take. When I add in the reasons I was already suspicious of him, at adds up to scum. YMMV.

The terrible post is the one where he finally gives us his LtL results then votes 3rd party. And I’ve seen many games that afterwards, when reading the scumboards, there is at least discussion of what type of things to post, if not verbatim text.
If there was only nightyap, I would be voting for him right now, fully in agreement with you.
