I have been reading for over two hours. I’ve gone back over N0 and am at Post 1001 on D1.

Anyone looking for a lynch candidate who hasn’t posted much and has posted mainly fluff (even more than I) might want to take a look at MHaye.

I’m going back to my reading now.

I agree with your assessment of Thing Fish’s analysis… with one objection. How have I been hypocritical? I fully admit that I was wrong about Brewha and that it does make for a strong case against me. I am aware that I played a pretty vocal role in Brewha’s lynch in spite of the possibility he was telling the truth. Im not building cases againdt players based on their participation in Brewha’s lynch. So please detail how I am being hypocritical.

I’m not sure I agree that you are not building cases against brewha voters. You may not be vocally building a case, but I thought there was a post that pondered whether brewha voters were aware of the implications of what would happen if brewha was telling the truth. I haven’t been taking detailed notes, because, you know, lazy. But that is my recollection.

My thought process is very simple. If ToeJam is telling the truth, the scum will want to get rid of him. If he’s not dead by Day 5, I start looking squinty-eyed at him.

I do have to admit that a Prof. P going after me is the sort of ‘bold move’ that scum are not really interested in trying. Though the whole 3rd Party thing complicates that signficantly. Jumping on an already moving wagon is much more reasonable for scum. Hard for me to really judge though, since I’m involved.

Didn’t your studies of lurking in the previous games lead you to conclude LTL was no better than an average guess? At least that’s the way I remember it from Giraffe.

If we can’t trust our logic and psychology then we depend on luck/power roles to win the game. What fun is that? I don’t think you really believe what you are arguing.

No, actually, my studies showed me that picking out one particular person was only as good as average. It does have an 85% success rate at picking a smaller group of candidates.

I stopped using it over on Giraffe because I was very tired of being voted for every time I mentioned it, and had picked up enough Meta to compensate.

We’re also down 11 Town now and 0 Scum. (Granted, only two of those were due to Town lynching Town.) A lot of the Town turned out to be power roles. I have to figure my method is better than whatever psychology is going on.

MHaye is on my list of suspects. I put his name out there because he’s just the sort of candidate that players like LightFoot enjoy voting for: not a lot of posts, and most of it fluff.

That being said, I’m questioning whether I should re-evaluate since I think ToeJam makes some good points. This isn’t a regular mafia game and it’s possible that scum simply don’t care about the doc as much as they might or given the heat ToeJam has taken already, perhaps their calculus finds it better to leave him alive especially if his protections don’t affect their kills.

This is wildly misrepresenting the whole thrust of my attitude towards the cultists. If you were doing a keyword search for “cultists,” why didn’t you start on my first post using that keyword in #715? Or (if you’d bothered to follow the thread of the topic that you are rereading back just a little ways) even the first time I mentioned the cult at all in #610?

There’s no “sudden” change in my attitude towards these guys.

In D2#960 I used the phrase “if they are real” twice, and I’m discussing the cultists in the context of my plan, the entire point of which is to confirm that the cultists are not scum. Post D2#990 is me clarifying a facet of that same plan.

You said you did a keyword search for “cultist” in D2 but then, in your analysis, you excluded posts of mine that included that keyword. You used the word “suddenly” to try and paint a clarification of an existing conversation as me being wishy-washy, when I’ve been damned consistent in my opinion of what to do with the cultists. The only thing that’s changed is my agreement that if all five cultists were to claim, lynching one would be unnecessary, but that’s 100% consistent with my initial desire to confirm them as being an actual 3P rather than masquerading scum.

So - what the hell? I’d say that skimming is a scum tell, but you did a keyword-based reread and managed to completely misrepresent even the posts of mine that involve the keyword.

It’s not perfect and I’m not trying to misrepresent you at all. Please clarify your position on the cultists so that I know exactly where you are at now.

His apology is sincere. I just feel these things, 75% of the time I’m right when it’s real and not bullshit. Especially in the circumstances where objective evidence would seem to indicate the opposite.

I know some of you will pull your hair out at this statement- I got told I suck as town for years because this is how I play, and I didn’t get decent as town until I learned to not care and trust it.

But I’ll try to offer you objective evidence too for those of you that need it. (I’m half-convinced now that my “empathic” abilities are just picking up on evidence subconsciously and being unable to articulate what that evidence is. )

He’s being inconsistent as hell. That is a general TOWN tell, not a general SCUM tell. Scum are caught by one inconsistency, not being all over the place.

And every bandwagon that built this fast in this game has been on town.

How do you get that a modkill would be better? If he’s truly vanilla town, then a modkill plus another (potential) mislynch is worse for town? (I’m not challenging you, I don’t understand and I suspect I’m missing something.)

I would like to request that Idle’s own request be taken into account and that he be modkilled. If he is vanilla town as he claims, then he’d hurting an already reeling town by encouraging the lynch train against him. Since he apparently came back to the thread to ask (in green) that he be modkilled, I don’t think it’s unfair to ask that he be obliged so that we can use our lynch on somebody else. **
