I did this in a Batman game years ago and I agreed as soon as others said so that it was uncool. Honestly, whether in the rules or not, it is totally anti-spirit of the game. If our rules were not clear, I’ll make it a rule no. No screenshotting, etc. **

I haven’t voted for you. You’re probably gonna die today, but I have a few questions anyway

You started this game. You brought everyone together to play.
But then you posted 3 times in Day 1.
4 Times in Day 2.
Then your first post in Day 3 was #509 where you literally start out by asking for the mods to kill you.
Why the shift in attitude? -
If you’re so adamant for a mod-kill, that can be arranged by just not posting. Why haven’t you done that? If you’re so adamant to be done with this game, why are you fighting so hard against an ever growing likelihood of a lynch?

At the time of your first post in toDay, there were 4 votes against you. But you weren’t the lynch leader by half and, in fact, the then current lynch leader (Prof P) was someone voting against you. Not a very strong lineup. So why come in so hostile? Less than 10% of the current players were voting for you and your reaction is to say “fuck it. Then just kill me!” Why?

I ask all these questions with the assumption that you’re Town. Is this how Town would play? Is this how Town SHOULD play? You’re not strategically trying to get specific people angry to gauge their reaction. You’re trying to make everyone angry for…reasons? I dunno. What are your reasons again?

Ender, I’m now assuming Idle is going to flip town, so here’s what I see…
Real life got in the way. Sure, he seems to be active in other threads but posting about your cat’s latest near-death experience takes a fraction of the emotional and mental effort, and time, than catching up on the game, assembling thoughts into a post, then being ready to support, defend or argue.
He seems to decide he just can’t get back to the game, and actually gives three options: sub, modkill or lynch, and claims VT:
Paul jumps on him for posting, since the mods would have taken care of him at EoD, Johnny, and even NAF, seem to prefer the modkill option - and that sparks defensive Idle, deciding to participate after all (to piss us off). Nanook decides we need to lynch him, cause we can’t trust him to not avoid further modkills.
Cue meltdown and reaction.
The way I read it, he did not ask to be mod-killed as you suggest.
I think Idle needs to realize that it’s a game, and there are people who will lie, use crappy reasoning, point to meta, and jump on his annoyance as a reason to vote, it seems to rile him up even more.
So we come full-circle with Idle now cheering for scum, wishing loss on what is apparently his team, and asking yet again to be modkilled.
Since he came into toDay claiming that he didn’t want to play anymore and then proceeded to effectively hijack the entire Day, I don’t really trust that he won’t come back toMorrow and continue.
I hope the mods will consider granting his request before EoD.

A pro-town Idle would not have wanted us to waste the day lynching him. A pro-town Idle would not have wanted a sub coming in after literally thousands of posts and with no posting history to back up his play.
No, Modkill was the only pro-town option of those three. It still is.
Regarding screenshots: it’s definitely against the spirit of the game.

It’s usually not written out because it is just considered bad form. Again, I did do it back on Idlemafia years ago and it was very bad form and frowned upon. You can quote whatever you like, but no screenshots. It’s not cool.
More on screenshots:
Mafia is a game that relies on the concept of unverifiable information. You can make claims, and can know things, but you can never prove what you know to anybody else. That concept is fundamental.
Any action which allows players to get around that is disruptive to the structure of the game. Screenshots are one. If you search around you’ll also find discussions about CryptoClaims which, if used properly, can break virtually any game on Day 1. Even early massclaims are generally frowned upon because they disrupt foundational elements of the game.
You might say that screenshots can still be faked, and they can be. But not everybody can create a convincing fake screenshot. And what if, instead of a screenshot, I posted a screen-capture video showing me logging into the Dope, navigating to my messages, and pulling up my messages? What if I used my phone to take video of my monitor while I did the same thing? That would be virtually impossible to fake.
So that’s all we would have to do in any game of mafia. We find a way to reveal our role PMs that can’t be faked. Then we play a perfect game. Easy! We wouldn’t even need power roles.
But that wouldn’t be fun and it wouldn’t be Mafia. So we restrict stuff like that.
