Mafia Reunion - Day Three

More Khameleon thoughts. Please note that rereads in this game are going to be pretty focused and I won’t be able to track down all the threads of every conversation. I welcome all corrections.

This stuff is pretty minor, but I’m reading with an eye towards Khameleon being a wolf and seeing what pops out at me.

D2#66. Makes an “oh no” comment about the town deaths and then is actually the one who floats the idea that Idle might be inactive for meta reasons. He got it backwards, but it still started that conversation. If this was a purposeful scum move (getting it wrong to get the ball rolling), it was crazy clever.

D2#207: When talking about scum, refers to them as “Wolf and Mafia” teams rather than collectively as scum. Prioritizes the wolf team.

D3#593: Votes Idle for meta reasons even though he doesn’t like meta reasons. Is also the one who brought up said meta reasons.

There’s honestly not much more to go on. Very little posting, but that’s what I got out of a brief reread.

@Pleo - can you elaborate on the breadcrumbing? I’m just a simple caveman lawyer, and I don’t understand your modern ways.

I also feel good about Hoopy Frood. Sinjin is pinging me.

I think I told this story in a Mafia game a long time ago, so a few of you might remember it.

When I was in high school, a long time ago, I was playing football with some guys I hadn’t played with before. I am a large, very pale skinned man, and at the time I had mostly shaved my head so I was kinda fuzzy. They all started calling me Polar Bear. This mostly stuck with me, especially since right around that time Coca-Cola, my former addiction, started those commercials with the polar bears drinking coke at the north pole. The nick name morphed slightly as time went on into Nanook.

Fast forward a couple years. Urban Legend the movie comes out, and I go wandering onto the new fangled internet to find some more stuff on urban legends. I eventually stumble across snopes.com, and it’s like trope levels of getting lost reading. Turns out they had(have? no idea anymore) a message board. I start posting there, and get to know people. It comes out that I live(at the time, no longer) on the north shore of Long Island, so someone that I no longer remember dubs me Nanook of the North Shore. I eventually made my way here(pre-Y2k join date for you noobs!), and kept the name. It was for the longest time the longest screen name of anyone on the Dope. I don’t know if it still is.

So I see the Pleo and Diggit as Mafia. At least, I see them as being necessarily not Wolves, and I can see scum pings on both of them (especially Pleo, who has been lightly pinging me as mafia since his Day Zero odd comments about scum hiding from each other.)

Hooker I understand less, though. Can you explain a bit more why if he is scum, he’s a wolf?

You mean you aren’t a “pretty momma” ?

NETA: Pleo has been pinging me as scum, not necessariliy Mafia.

After I posted I saw that Maha had beaten me to it.

I had talked about this earlier.(so I was confirming that my stand on the subject had not changed.)

as to who did the Day Kills, all I know for sure is Not wolves.

– the protector role could have died by protecting another wolf- if so the killer knows where to aim toMorrow=bonus— or they could have been the direct target.
the other role was a master switcher IIRC ( don’t have that bookmarked on work comp)

that was my point.
but since you can ( pretty sure) send in actions in the prior phase ( if you want to) I think it is almost Null

I didn’t quite catch what the post was for/against in the summary

By “vindictaed”, I thought you meant cleared, exonerated from an accusation. Did I miss some context here?

I don’t understand.

My BOLD.
So what does vindication mean, in this case? Sorry, english is my second language, I may just be ignorant:)

Didn’t you have me as a slight scum lean yesterDay?

Three things, that separately aren’t all that damning but together they make a case to me.

The first is my infamous gut, I just think he’s scum. If he’s scum, I don’t think he’s Mafia because of this:
Hooker voted Pleo for his accusations against ThingFish. Pleo was spouting what sounded like nonsense to me but hinged on ThingFish having PIS. Given that it turns out ThingFish may in fact have had PIS, I do think Pleo is likely to be Mafia with similar PIS. I think Hooker then had good reason to suspect Pleo for this but wasn’t on the same team as him. It could be a bus, but…

Hooker posted early on that he didn’t know if I was scum or not but trusted my leans anyway. This makes some sense because as scum I bus like crazy, and he knows that.

But I also had JSGoddess and ThingFish as town leans. The timing may be off on this, if he said it before I posted that then this is invalid.

The part I was agreeing with is that he says he’s totally against players posting town leans but never once commented on my strong defense of Prof. P.

Yes. You’ve crossed over to town for me. I’m not sure why, I’ll have to go back and reread. My slight scum lean on you was very early though. (I’m running errands on my lunch hour now so it may take a while.)

Have you asked yet?

Yeah, but he can write his own ad copy.

I was unaware you could do that.

**Can players send in actions prior to the period during which their actions take place? If so, what are the limits on how early?

That is, if a player has a night action, can they submit their N1 action on D1?
Can they submit their N2 action on D1?**

I don’t see why not. The limit would be when it causes us a headache to track stuff.

I concede these are generally fair accusations. Your conclusion is wrong, but the evidence is fair.

I still think Pleo’s case on Thing Fish was gibberish, it just happened to be right. Angel, if you’re not a cultist, you must be thinking the same thing about Pleo’s most recent accusation. Thing Fish was one of my towniest leans. I believe that he was legitimately hunting for Mafia because it’s what I would do as scum in this game and I’ve found myself in agreement with a lot of his posts.

I don’t think there’s much case for Thing Fish and jsgoddess trying to bus Pleonast. That case never gained much momentum. It’s not always the case, but it makes bussing a lot more effective at building townie cred when the victim is actually killed or at least in contention. If Pleo is scum, he’s almost surely mafia.

FWIW, I think bussing is tactically less valuable this game than many others. If a scum team falls behind the other scum team, they cannot afford to bus because they cannot win until the other scum team has fewer players. Also, they can legitimately scum hunt to build townie cred instead. When a player is already under heavy suspicion, that changes a bit because they’re likely to be lost anyway, but I don’t see scum bussing their own team with a case ex nihilo being a regular thing this game.

She was concluding that DiggitCamara is scummy. I think.
