I’m finally getting around to this. Not much here though… pretty quiet, but still participating… maybe just enough to avoid suspicion? 15 posts and we are on D3. 5 posts from D1 and 10 from D2.

I didn’t like the scum slip theory when I was trying to catch up. I can see how it was misleading, but it shouldn’t have been a reason to vote in and of itself… of course hindsight is 20/20 so I’ll let the townie vote go for now.

So you are still suspicious of Colby, but now that there is a bandwagon on him you feel it will be okay to disown that lynch from your voting record and move on to SNF for “defending” another player? I defend other players all the time… not because I know their alignment, but because I disagree with the argument against them. Why sit back and let bad arguments get people lynched?

Notice SNF’s defense is now a slight defense, but the vote stays.

Now its a very slight defense. And semantics. I agree the unvote didn’t sit right with me.

That’s all the D1 posts… 5 posts… in 5 posts Diggit managed to vote, unvote, switch votes from the person she thought was scum to someone defending the person she thought was scum, and backpedal twice. Pretty busy for 5 posts, but still doesn’t address anything else in the game, doesn’t even comment on Lakai… or ToeJam.

Admits the case is really weak, but continues the vote anyway. Still no comment on Lakai or ToeJam.

I guess you gotta find some reason to justify votes right, that other case wasn’t really holding up so I guess it needed reinforcement?

I actually agree with this post. I think it might be why we have been seeing an uptick in power role deaths, there were a lot of people claiming or saying things that revealed they either didn’t have a switch or that they weren’t one role or another or just flat out that they were nilla town. Each comment narrows the pool. I’m assuming “disclaimers” was supposed to be “claimers”.

Not a Masonic group… masons typically have private chat and are still part of town. They are a cult with a weirdo power and a survival wincon. But you know, thats a better vote than the SNF vote, IMHO.

In case it isn’t obvious because of the lack of quotes within quotes, the point here was that the 3P winton wasn’t consistent with the Roles doc. It is, Diggit was misinterpreting the roles doc which states that exclusive 3P wins are superseded by town or scum wins. Crys claimed a nonexclusive wincon.

I disagree with this assessment of the 3P situation…

Somehow missed Lakai subbed back in.

Townies coming back from the dead bugs Diggit apparently…. its not that hard, just disregard D1 when assessing Lakai v2.0.

And that is it. At least Diggit commented on the switches and the 3P. And kind of comments on Brewha, in the sense that they seem to take Brewha at his word and mentions he probably has a target on his back. No comment on ToeJam or those who call for his head. And the vote stays on a claimed cultists… which I disagree with. We need to kill scum and use the 3P as population padding and hopefully have them working with us to eliminate scum… for now. Lynching them is a step closer to the scum wincon not towns.
All in all I don’t like it. I’m not a huge fan of the case against ToeJam, who has the most votes right now I believe… but maybe Digit will come in and vote for Crys or Sach or SNF and get an alternate wagon rolling. Or maybe they will finally comment on the ToeJam situation on the third Day of people calling for his head. Who knows. I don’t even think there is enough here to warrant a vote. Just a few awkward votes and unvotes that ping me. I guess I’ll keep looking and keep an eye on Diggit.

I have been doing more reading over on MafiaScum. There I found two pieces of advice that encourage me: 1) Town are Idiots. We don’t have the information we desperately need and flail about all ways, hoping to luck into something. 2) Hunt the Scum Team, not just individuals.

So, on D1 and D2 there isn’t enough Data to really make a good case. This is D3. Here they are: The Mafia and the Wolves are most likely found in these 14 people:

Other than that, I am still re-reading the thread. One question, however: why does everyone assume that the cult has been “cleared” and is probably non-hostile?

The thing is that makes me a bit nervous is:

1. We only know their role by their reported PM.

2. They hold at least a switch. I am assuming that switches are held by members of opposing factions (to maximize WIFOM). Wouldn’t a reveal of the switch help us see whether or not a living townsperson holds a similar switch? If that counterswitch were discovered, we would know for certain if the third party is hostile, wouldn’t it?

This is the first post from DigitCamara not answering or commenting on the questions or the list. But to be fair - he does say he is still reading so that might explain the lack of responds.

I also believe the cultists’ description is fishy. The fact that they are/were hidden from each other and have the power to find each other might make what happens AFTER they find each other interesting. And not necessarily good for townsfolk.

I was under the mistaken belief that she hadn’t revealed who her switch targets. However, since she has a scum-targetting switch, one of the switches is (I believe) held by scum, the other by an opposing party. But we have at least 3 parties and by definition someone stepping up with the other switch is very unlikely.

Ideally? I would like for one of them to die, whether by lynch or UBatmanning or whatever, just to see what the mods reveal about them. An investigation wouldn’t do much help, as far as I can tell, since the result would simply be “Third Party” (best case scenario).

Now that I think about it… What if wolves or scum had decided to “declare” themselves as third party? It would be risky, but might deter the opposing faction from using their actions against them. Could that work?

This quote pings me so strongly because it lists supposed townie folk. I never have understood why anyone would actually trust anyone else implicitly and I constantly look for players who declare someone else to be townsfolk.

So now we are talking about his vote. But I still fail to see why he thinks Thing Fish’s “list” was any different from the others list. And I am really surprised that he votes with that conclusion - without even mentioning AngleoftheNorth and the way she stated that she felt Prof Pepper was townie to her.
Surely that would have pings him as well??

And the switch she has is for the Bodyguard. So, if we assume she is a Wolf, she could hope for some townie protection during the Night, which actually might have happened due to our Wizard’s haste and perhaps even some collateral damage to said protective role via the Hitman. And even if the Consiglere dispatched someone to see if Crys was visited during the Night, that might actually result in a positive result for the Wolves (death of a protective role by the Mafia).

Snfaulkner’s giving me a different vibe toDay, I’m not feeling my D2 vote.
Idle came back with three options, including asking to be subbed out, but people, even the mods, jumped on the lynch me or modkill me suggestion, and he reacted.
I thought I saw something in nesta’s votes but no, feeling neutral now.
I’ve been suspicious of Prof.P’s motives for his lurker fixation, while attracting attention, it’s easy to be consistent across games, and there’s always the choice of which lurker to vote. Switching to third parties breaks with this routine, either to avoid the heat (badly!), or in response to the criticism. But focusing on removing the third parties and only then, once they’re out of the way, is just a terrible strategy but it breaks with the ploy which is a good sign.

Other options right now are:

• Boozy for not needing to come up with other suspicions
• Johnny Bravo for the N0 post nonsense, a fixation on Meeko, arguing for the masons to claim, not wanting to discuss strategy at Night, his #520 - Idle did not request to be modkilled
• Inner, his out of the blue question to Pleo N1 was texbook active lurking and is stuck in my head
• Scathach, Zeriel, Hawkeyeop, Cookies - I have a feeling they’re posting about not being able to play, or about catching up, or about going back and doing something, but not delivering

This makes no sense at all. Scum really couldn’t care less what alignment you are - they need to kill everyone who isn’t on their team. And there’s nothing in his post that would suggest he somehow knows you’re Town rather than a cultist or a Mafioso.

No, that entire post feels manufactured. It 100% sounds like you’re creating an opportunity to a) declare that you’re town and b) do so in a conversation with someone that you know will someDay flip scum.

Then you vote for him. So now he’s got a safe/worthless vote on you and you’ve got a safe/worthless vote on him. This is a pretty common scum tactic. Manufacture a little scuffle between teammates, get some pro-town votes on the record.

What do you think “vindication” means? In my case I feel vindicated because

1. Not only did my ping work correctly (I spotted a strong indicator for someone who was a wolf) but it also irked another wolf who, in her post told us she had actually used the same reasoning. Meaning that, at least on the wolf team, by believing the claptrap phrase of “perfect knowledge isn’t a valid indicator during this game because we have 2 scum teams” they have let their guard down and displayed said “partial perfect knowledge”
2. Obviously “vindication” does not mean I am not in any of the scum teams. Or third party. In the eyes of any of our townsfolk I should be viewed as a suspicious character… just like everyone else

And to answer Total Lost’s two questions:

1. You ask why one post pinged me when I disregarded a few other people’s posts that seem just the same? Look at the posts you cited. Those were comprehensive lists of suspicion which, in context, give you far more of an idea of what people think, instead of a list of “townfolk” without context (which was what Thing Fish put down)
2. I emit votes based on “flawed logic”. Like I said, what you feel is “flawed logic” actually spotted two scum folk. How many have you spotted with your “logic”? And also, the thing with me is that in a game of this size I try to spot something interesting and hang on to that. I put on some kind of blinders, if you will, and let noise fly by (in this case Idle Thought is a pretty good example of noise)
