Mafia Reunion - Day Two

No, but we can trust the 3rd party to be playing to win. That’s enough for right now. They have no reason at this time for LUTHA not to help the biggest group, Town. If they don’t help us, we have an easy remedy.

And now I have to go to bed.

Hey sachertorte, don’t push it.

Oh, I wasn’t accusing you weirdos of having pis. But I will constantly wonder if you guys aren’t secretly motivated differently than you say.

Fine. No hugs for you.

Also, I think one of you claimed cultists needo to be murder killed by death so as to see what info your flip provides.

How much time is left? 12ish hrs?

Yes. you will. There is no denying that and there isn’t anything we can do about it beyond playing as transparently as possible. I wish there was something we could do to prove ‘something’ but we can’t. You’re just going to have to consider whether or not it is worth it to you to use resources to kill a Third Party. You certainly can, but our numbers count against the scum win-condition. Killing off the cultists advances the scum win condition.

Of course, from my perspective, I don’t even know if you are Town or not, so your motives are suspect too.

Interesting point. I’ll mull it over a bit.

Fwiw, I’m cool with hugs.

linky

Thanks.

So Sunny D. I know this your first game and all, but maybe a fresh perspective is what I need. I haven’t had too much experience with 3rd party factions other than like a lone serial killer. How are you feeling about this whole slaying of a possible scum/possible townie vs a claimed possibly harmless 3rd party?

What might we learn, really? Anything useful? I’m struggling with this. If it’s useful, then this makes sense. If it’s “Crys75 was a Lutha Cultist”, then we haven’t gained anything, and we’ve potentially lost a scum death. OTOH, knowing who they are narrows the pool to hunt for scum now, doesn’t it? What proofs can we ask for that would help us trust the Lutha (or at least work with them for now)?

We’re 5 deaths in, and we’re not learning much, so I’m worried about this.

Yeah, that’s an issue we cant know until the filet-o-cultist happens. Which I think we need to find out sooner than later. But man, I’d really rather kill

Yeah, that’s an issue we cant know until the filet-o-cultist happens. Which I think we need to find out sooner than later. But man, I’d really rather kill filth. But then, ugh, whose the filth?

Right now I think we should double kill toe jam and crys. I don’t believe brewha is scum. But the way the votes are going, I think I need to keep my vote on crys.

Ooo, that’s a new one. Double and a half posts!

I am not about to vote for a case I can’t see.
When/If we discover that they were not Scum - what will you have to say then?

Well, I’ve got none, so you got me on experience. These guys sound better than a serial killer. What follows will be my rambling thoughts.

Under the win conditions, they are evaluated last, as I understand it, unless there’s something hidden. I’d like to compare the PMs from Crys and Sachertorte, but we can’t trust that they haven’t edited them. Still, worth a look.

For now, if we know who they are, we can see how they vote, or even direct their vote (is that allowed?) and that could be a big positive for town. It narrows the pool hunting for scum, which could also be a big positive.

The risk might come up late in the game, when numbers are smaller, and the group could swing the balance by switching to scum. I think there was an earlier post where someone did some earlier modeling about how likely or unlikely this was, based on the percentages of the groups, but it’s a possibility.

Open questions: How many of them are there? Are they non-hostile? Are the win conditions as actually stated?

My gut is that if we believe that they’re non-hostile, it’s better to have them around and out in the open now, when town can gain the most benefit from their actions.

Well, I don’t think it helps you with your conundrum, but I’m seriously considering moving my vote to ToeJam. I’m still convinced he’s scum.

If you vote ToeJam, then that’s the filth. Crys was always going to be the second “maybe” lynch anyway. Right now that’s not looking likely.

I have a problem with this. You think it’s more likely a vanilla townie made a mistake than a scum did? As a player aren’t you just as likely to make a mistake no matter what your role?

You concede it’s probably to late to change anything, but cast a one off vote and mention you won’t be back. If you think it’s too late why wouldn’t you want you vote to remain on Brewha where the record would show you played a part in his death?

I bet you a dollar and a half that the ’ flip’ will not contain any information about hostile/non hostile alliances.

that would Mod confirm future cultist (if/when they choose to out themselves) And I don’t think any Mod would do that.
