Mafia Reunion - NIGHT ZERO

Mahaloth, sir, maybe post a link to your spreadsheet o’ players and genders (and maybe add a column for what handles someone uses of this board if different from Giraffe’s)? I want to make sure I get my pronouns correct, and know who I’m talking to and trying to murderkill to death.

but Scum are just as likely to target a scummy sounding scum as a scummy sounding townie. so it would play against the scum teams

I remember it being somewhat onerous the one.time I did it. What the hell is your malfunction, then? Trying to set all of your switches in the same direction?

My gut tells me this happens regardless.

please do- I think I speak for many here

Would you, could you in the rain? Would you, could you on a train?

-Meeko, who would have gone with the Box / Fox pairing, but totally thought otherwise, at the last second.

has it been posted anywhere that all PM’s are out? perhaps that is taking some time as well

Well, that would be telling. A lot of it is dealing with all the humans in this game and their needs. It would be easier if we played this with robots.

Rubbish! While I agree fluff will make things more difficult, it also makes thing more fun. Fluff away, I say!

**Oh, stop. I’m blushing. Loved that game. **

Sure.

Here is the mafia player info. spreadsheet.

I’m not claiming, I’m posting the role for reference.

Welcome to the game; you are The Patsy.
ALIGNMENT: Town
YOU WIN if at any checkpoint (Dawn or Dusk) all 14 Scum players (Wolves + Mafia) are dead.
BACKGROUND:
Hi, Clemenza! Welcome to town! Glad you left organized crime behind you!. Hope you enjoyed being in the game preview! This isn’t anyone’s favorite role to have gotten, but someone always needs to be the patsy. We do not apologize. And if you don’t recognize the Clemenza reference… shame on you. Shame. (Note from Doug: I see what you did there).
POWERS:
Well, you investigate as Scum if either the Seer or Homicide Detective target you (the Investigative Journalist will always receive accurate results regarding you). However, if you are lynched (but NOT if you are killed by Day or Night), you may make one reciprocal kill at your own discretion.

I don’t immediately see any benefit for the patsy to claim.
.
That said, I don’t see what stops scum from claiming either. The problem, as always, is that scum can emulate this role perfectly.
.
Can we “leash” this? Can we turn it around somehow? Can we simply ask the “real” patsy to not claim, and then lynch the inevitable claimer after?
.
.
.
**Should the detective types wait longer than the pseudo standard of three results, and wait until they have two (I guess?) scum results? That way, if we out the patsy in doing so, the patsy, by virtue of being the patsy, knows to target the other player identified as scum? **

Is it possible to change my gender to Furry Raccoonboy?

It’s editable by anyone, so put whatever you like.

Both of you are twerps, then. It’s a basic fact that every person in this game presents themselves as Town. You don’t need to claim vanilla town (unless you’re Idle, because tradition!) because it’s understood that everyone comes at this game from that viewpoint. Trying to suss out information isn’t some coy way of pretending to be a Townie, it’s the most pro-Town thing you can do. Information is what wins these games, and the Town starts with the least of it. So you and Thing can finger me all you want (yeah, yeah) but I’d like to know exactly what you’re trying to add to the conversation yourself.

It just seems that the question you asked the mods seemed to have a pretty obvious answer (assuming you’ve played more than I have). I know I have asked such mod questions as scum when I already knew the answer.

And I bring a masterclass on sleuthing to the conversation. Ok, not really. More likely comic relief and/or blithering idiocy depending on your POV.

I’ve definitely played games where Night Zero had no plotting allowed by scum. It can make a big deal, especially in games where there are experienced players mixed with newbies, and even moreso in games where players are familiar with each other.

Not voting for you today just for this.

I recently was the ‘victim’ of a miller role IIRC I played my game until I got some heat - and then- claimed. I had left a few bread crumb I could point to and again- if memory serves me it prevented my lynch ( of course it was a closed set so this is different)
I agree with you to let each 'is own. If Scum claims patsy the true patsy can wrangle a case on said deceiver .

if that make sense to anyone?

and yes saving results/claims should be considered past the ‘usual’ time frame. bread crumbs are encouraged in the event of an untimely death- of course

This is a dilemma, but, and I’m speaking from limited experience, you can really shift the scales. If there’s good suspects in the top, I’d gladly throw accountability for a shot of the dice of nailing more than one.

I agree. This game is quickly going to become unwieldy in the traditional manner of play. But I don’t think it is possible or even desirable to try and limit how large these Day/Night threads are going to get, fluff or no fluff. Fluff is a part of the game (within reason, of course). More than anything I hope the game is fun.

Fluffy posts also helps distinguish players. It’s already hard for me to remember who has posted what in regards to the game mechanics.
