Certain roles have the power to determine the alignment of another player. In this case there are two possible alignments: Town and Scum. The Cloak makes the cloak wearer APPEAR to the opposite of what he or she really is. It is a mechanism to sow confusion.
Storyteller is using shorthand.
“Godfather” refers to a mafia player (scum) who when investigated by a Town Player appears to be Town even though he is not.
“Miller” is a Town player what appears to be scum when investigated even though he is not.
(The existence of The Miller’s Tale probably isn’t helping with the clarity. “The Miller” and A Miller are different things in this context.)
I’ve just been killed in the Idlemafia Game so can play here if you’re still looking for #19. (Feel free to demote me to spoiled bystander if someone else show up.)
In the description for The Shipman, you explicitly state “If your attack is blocked, you will not lose your chance to act”. I don’t see that in any of the other descriptions. So in general, if a player attempts to act but is blocked, do they lose their action?
No, each Scum player must choose a unique tool. They’ll get exactly four of the items on the list, of which one will be the set of 7 sacrificial knives.
Hangs head in shame Yep, the BYOR round. I was there for a Day at least. It really was too complicated for me. I really would love to play in a simple all Vanilla game sometime. I think it would be fun. No powers, just your wits.
Septimus sort-of-claimed the last spot, but also said he’d cede it if anyone else wanted it. I’m open to either outcome.
I think we’re just about ready to go now. Once we resolve the issue of septimus vs. Hal, I’ll randomize the Town roles and send them all out. I’ll also randomly select the first Scum player and notify him or her. Night Zero will start at that point. Based on the way things are looking right now, Day One will probably be extended a bit (start early) to get us on track.
